We celebrated Mom's 71st birthday with pizza and cake!
Emma had just had teeth removed, which is why she's smiling with her mouth closed.
morning runs/bike rides all together - a favorite part of summer!
happy days at the Trophy Club pool with friends
reading together
Titus ran a short fever in early August and then ended up with a horrible rash on his face. It went away on its own after several days.
Emma was on a roll with finger knitting...she bought a huge skein of thick yarn at Walmart and had an incredibly long piece going!
We also enjoyed a terrific day at NRH2O with our friends, the Carltons, and ran into other CBC friends there, too.
I had told Josiah that I would do one of the slides with him. My friend, Sarah, and I talked the entire time that the kids did slides and played in the wave pool. When we left, Josiah reminded me that I had told him I'd do a slide. It was very hot (and busy), but I wanted to keep my word. Isaac was so hot and tired that he waited in the Suburban, but Emma, Josiah and I walked back to the entrance, unsure if the employees would let us back in since we hadn't gotten a stamp on our hand for reentrance. They did, and we had so much fun doing some slides and going around the lazy river!
On Sunday, August 5, I was playing and also manning the children's choir table in the ministry fair. Titus wasn't able to go to church because of a rash he had on his face, so Dave had stayed home with him.
Throughout the morning, Dave kept texting me that "he had lunch under control" and "was I ready for an amazing lunch?"! All I could think was that he must have made a quiche, because there wasn't any meat thawed at home!
We came home to find our bikes lined up in the garage, all ready to ride with freshly pumped-up tires! Dave surprised me by planning to ride bikes to Hutchins BBQ! We hadn't been yet since they had opened, and it was on my summer bucket list that I wanted to all ride bikes together for BBQ. It was so hot, but so fun! When we got there (panting), all the Davises walked out of the restaurant. It was so funny seeing their expressions when they saw us all on bikes in the 100+ mid-day heat.

Dave bought Josiah a Butterfinger one day when Josiah went to work with Dave. Josiah told Dave that he wanted to save half of it for me, because they're my favorite. He brought my half home wrapped in a shop towel.
last day of summer fun at the Trophy Club pool
(Isaac was at pep band rehearsal)
Titus likes to wear glasses up on his face like Daddy.
Titus was up at 6:30 a.m. one morning, and he brought a Bible over to read by Dave in his chair.
working on "school" while the big kids also do school
Titus kept himself entertained by writing while waiting for his 2 year checkup!
After his appointment, I took him to the park in North Richland Hills where the kids and I used to go almost every week after BSF with friends. It was so fun to spend time with Titus at the park together!
2 years old
I love this sweet outfit on my boys, and I wish I had also had it when Isaac was little!
Titus is 1 3/4" taller than Josiah at 2, and he is almost 4 pounds heavier than Josiah was.
Titus is 2" taller than Isaac at 2!
lots of bathroom work continued in August!
Josiah stayed up "late" (8:30 p.m.) one evening to do math...he wanted to get it all done that evening!
