February 2024

February was filled with snuggles and smiles...

dancing and wearing cowboy hats...

and sweet times with friends!

I ran a fever for 6 days and ended up getting bronchitis.  I hadn't been sick in a long time!  A Z pack and steroid shot were very helpful!  After I got a steroid shot, I was ready to spring clean!  The Mother-Son AWANA brunch was scheduled for the Saturday when I was still sick, so Josiah took Mom-o as his guest!

Isaac participated in All-Region Band on February 16-17 in Dallas.  He made 7th chair for the high-school  all-region band as an 8th grader!

Donuts with Dad early one morning before school

Josiah finished up a great basketball season!

Pop came to his first game after surgery!

Paul and Josiah at their class Valentine party

Emma made homemade sugar cookies for her class Valentine party and frosted them early in the morning before leaving for school!

Emma had a flute piece due for Mrs. Bowen, and she worked so hard on it.
Every note that's highlighted blue she played accurately!!

While the big kids were practicing their instruments and working on school,
Titus stayed busy with Magna Tiles....

dot paints...

...and eating peanut butter!

Another favorite part of February is the gorgeous winter sunsets!

Emma’s 12th Birthday!

We celebrated Emma's birthday with grandparents on Sunday evening, February 18 with Emma's favorite meal (spaghetti!) and ice cream cake for dessert!

We played a game where you tried to move an Oreo from your forehead into your mouth!  Emma had recently played it at Kailen's party, and it was really funny!

Emma turned 12 on Tuesday, February 20, 2024!
Several years ago, I decorated Emma's door with streamers and balloons on her birthday morning, and she loved it!  She asked me a few times if I would do it this year!  Dave blew up the balloons early in the morning, I taped everything up, and she was so excited when she came out of her room!  She was wearing her avocado earrings that she received from Pop and Mom-o at her birthday dinner.

Instead of our traditional birthday pancakes, Emma asked for homemade caramel rolls like we'd had on Christmas morning!

It was Emma's home day for school, so we were able to have a special birthday lunch at Starwood with Dave!  Emma rode her scooter and I ran there, and it was a gorgeous sunny day!

We went to Skate Town on the evening of Emma's birthday for the Countryside elementary skate party!

After school on Wednesday, February 21, we celebrated with all the girls from Emma's class at Bahama Bucks!

Younger brothers at Bahama Bucks, too!

Emma's birthday party with friends from church was on Saturday, February 24 at Skate Town!  She asked for a pink and white striped bundt cake!  Dave was at a job early that morning, and I finished frosting the cake before all the kids woke up.  They all helped me load all the food and were terrific helpers!  Emma worked on her playlist before the skating party, and it was such a fun combination of Disney and Hayley Mills songs!  "Try Everything" was her very favorite song!

What a terrific and very special week of celebrating our Emma Victoria!
