Silly girl
This morning Daniel requested that we eat french toast for breakfast. He said the he loves french toast! Wow!! This is amazing since there once was a time that he wouldn't touch french toast with a 10 foot pole. Emily enjoyed it too and at a couple different times said she was all done. The first time she got mad when I tried to get her down so she ate a little more. The next time she said "All done!" I had to make sure so I asked her "Emily are you all done?" And then she tells me, "No honey mommy!" Then proceeded to sing using her fork as a microphone.
Emily is talking more and more now and is actually a very polite little gril. She says please and thank you and even says sorry. I accidentaly bumped into her the other day and she said "Sorry mommy!" This morning she knocked my book on the floor and she picked it up for me and told me "sorry mommy!" and then went on back to playing with her vaccuum.

Sparkle words!!
Today Mike brought home his boss's new laptop so that he could work over the weekend without going into the office. It is a big laptop. Mike isn't going to want to give it back. He also brought home the big work truck so that he can go pick up an engine for the caprice tomorrow. I'm thinking he might not want to give the truck back either. Hmmm.....Daniel was saying how enormous the computer and the truck were. He told us what enourmous means: "It means something is really, really big." He then told us that enormous was his sparkle word. I thought that was really cute.
This month's sparkle word is generous. "Generous means that you are giving to others."
Daniel is currently obsessed with football and loves tackling Mike. It's not gentle either. I'm kind of surprised that neither of them have broken anything yet. My fingers are crossed that nothing does get broken.

A sure sign...
Sorry if this doesn't sound as though I am addressing everyone out there, but the blog kind of takes the place of journal writing or saving it until I can write it down.
It is a sure sign that my little girl is ready for bed when she is laughing and so excited that she is already for bed. She runs to her room and when Mike picked her up to put her in bed, she said "Thank you daddy! Thank you daddy!" Plus, it's only 7:30 pm, a full half hour before we usually get ready for bed. I love that she loves bedtime and naptime. It's wonderful!! Now, I do realize that by the time she gets to be a teenager I probably won't love it so much.

Emily meets the concrete
Saturday morning Mike took the kids outside to play while he worked on the cars and I even went out for a little bit. Well, our driveway is covered with the hazardous leaves and acorns that love to fall all over it all year 'round. Emily was happily running circles around me (really, I stood still and she ran around me) when she tripped and met the concrete. Her poor little nose got really scraped up and was bleeding pretty good. She sat on the couch and didn't want to move for close on 2 hours. Poor baby. Daniel even sat on the couch with her and cuddled her for a while and took care of his little sister.

Emily at a garage sell
Sorry it's sideways. These are all things that Emily picked up at a garage sell and she wouldn't let them go. She was really funny walking like an old woman.

Just a note for the previous post...
Kindergarten here is 7 hours long. None of that half day stuff. Poor guy. I understand his little aversion to going to school.

First week of KINDERGARTEN!
Daniel started school last Monday and he did GREAT!! He woke up happy and excited to go school. He didn't cry at all and was excited to go and see what school was about and play with all of the toys available. Emily was VERY mad when we left him there and we didn't let her stay to play. Daniel came home and said that he had fun and that he had made a new friend.
The next morning was an ENTIRELY new story though.
When I woke him up and told him that he had to go to school, he started crying and telling me that he didn't want to go. When I asked him why not, he said that it was "too boring!"Finally, I convinced him to go after we put a picture of me and Daniel and Emily and his grandma Chai (we couldn't find a small family picture with mommy, daddy, Daniel, and Emily in it) into his backpack. I told him that he could look at it if he got sad or lonely or bored.
When I picked him up that afternoon, I asked him how school was. He said "Good. It wasn't as boring as yesterday." Now he goes without a problem and is enjoying all of the friends he's making. It also helps that he knows quite a few kids that go to that school. He can't wait to bring some of them home.

Such a helpful boy!!
Tonight me and Mike got a sitter and went out for a work bowling tournament. It was lots of fun and nice to get out of the house without the kids. When I got back from taking the sitter home, Daniel came and told me that I didn't need to worry about watering my plants because he already did it. He had also taken out the garbage by himself because it was getting really full. My little boy is growing up and is being so helpful and sweet. He also loves his little sister and takes good care of her. He's going to be starting kindergarten on Monday. I can't believe that he's going to be gone for 7 hours a day. I can't believe he's that old already!!

YUCK!!!
This is a portion of the kitchen. I kind of like having the oven seperate, but it's a pathetic oven that doesn't cook well.
This is in our living room. The beams on the ceiling are going to come down because they make it so that the fan can't catch any air to move around. And they're just ugly.

Silly kids!
I have very silly kids. Emily loves her medicine when she has to take it. Back in April she got a sinus infection and loved the medicne that she had to take to get rid of the infection. Then in the beginning of June when Daniel got a sinus infection, she was jealous whenever Daniel took his medicine and she didn't get any. Now Daniel is on antibiotics again for strep. He likes his medicine!! I'm shocked! This is the little boy who hates most foods and won't try anything new. Last night when it was time for medicine, he said yay!! Them I told him that tomorrow (Thursday) was his last day for medicine. What did he say? Aww! He was sad! Silly kids. :) I'm really glad that they like their medicine. It really makes giving it to them so much more pleasant.

Free furniture... LOVE IT!!!
Mike came home for lunch yesterday and he had this in the back of the car. His work was getting rid of it and had given it to him. It does have shelves that go with it but we took them out. It is our new entertainment center. I love it!! It's beautiful and it works perfectly!
I love it when we can get free furniture that is in such great condition!

Utah Take 2
Even though we were just out in Utah in April (has it really been 2 months already?!?), we went there again last week for yet another wedding. This time with the Chai family. YAY JER! We're glad to have Emily join our family. Now the Chai family has two Emily's. Jer's wife Emily and my little Emily. Even though it was a shorter trip than last time, it was more eventful. We had some fun on Wednesday going bowling and such and then on Thursday I went to see my mom's dad who is in a nursing home. He is 90 and he shattered his first 3 vertebrae but surprisingly he survived and didn't damage his spinal cord. I do not do well in hopsitals and seeing people hooked up to all sorts of wires. Because of that, I got sick and once I was able to get up off the bathroom floor and out the door, I spent most of the visit in the waiting room. My brother David works there and was at work when it happened and came by just to call me a little green monster. Apparently I looked as bad as I felt.
That night both my family and Mike's family went up the canyon to take family pictures. Right before we left, Emily was running a fever so I gave her Motrin and off we went. Once up the canyon (thankfully very near the Provo canyon entrance), she ran around and had lots of fun, not wanting to take time for pictures. Once pictures were done, we all went to a pavillion and ate dinner. Emily got so cold that she was shaking (silly be didn't think to bring jackets even though Utah was freezing compared to Texas) and so I sent her to Mike's aunt's house (who lived right on 8th north) with Mike and the rest of his family while I finished cleaning up dinner. (Mike went because he hadn't been feeling good the whole trip.) As we were all getting loaded into the cars, Mike called me and asked if I could get there right away because Emily was acting really sick and he thought that she had passed out. We rushed into cars and I was rushed to Mike's aunt's house where we got into another car and drove Emily to Timpanogos Hospital. During the car ride I found out what had happened. Mike was holding Emily and he felt a wet spot on his arm like she was throwing up, which wasn't normal for her, and he picked her up to help her out and she just went limp. He took her into the kitchen where there was more light and she was limp with her jaw clenched extremely tight and her eyes were rolled back in her head. Right around the edges of her lips were turning blue and she wasn't breathing. They tried to get her to wake up and Mike's uncle, a big Tongan man, took her and held her somewhat upside down and hit her back a few times. She finally woke up after that and was very disoriented for a few minutes. Mike's mom said that her arms had been really rigid too and held up tight to her body. They gave her a blessing as I was on my way there and when I got there she was crying and was just inconsolable. After getting to the ER and once we were in a room, she finally relaxed and fell asleep on my shoulder just in time for the doctor to come in. We described what happened and he said that she had had a febrial (fever) seizure. Her temp. was 100.7 degrees but he said that how high the tempurature is isn't what determines whether they have a seizure or not. It's how fast the tempurature rises. So he looked in her left ear and said that she had a raging ear infection. Poor baby hadn't even complained about her ears hurting. Once back to my parents house, she was acting normal again and running around thanks to the medicine and she fell to sleep quickly.
Friday was the wedding and it was great. Sadly, we got there and I found out that my recommend had expired at the end of May. Luckily Mike was able to be there and that's what really matters since it was his brother getting married. Saturday was the reception in Kanab, which was beautiful (the reception, not the town) and we got back home that night at 3 am. Woo hoo. Then Sunday we came home. Two flights. The first flight was late taking off and later landing but Daniel and Emily slept for the majority of those flights. YAY!!! Our connecting flight waited for us! YAY!!!!!!!!!!! As soon as we got off one plane, we were rushed over to our next flight and sent straight to our seats without even showing our tickets. One great thing about being the last one's on the plane is that there was no wait to get going. As we were waiting to get off the first plane, Daniel, who had refused to eat lunch, was feeling very sick. We finally got home just after midnight and was getting Daniel food when he proceeded to throw up. He ate and then took some medicine for his fever and we all went to bed.
Today we went to the doctor and Daniel has strep throat. Yay! And his ears hurt because he had very hard compacted ear wax in them that refused to be flushed out. The good thing is that Emily is getting better and she's already on antibiotics and so she shouldn't get strep. I really hope they all get better soon. Another good thing is that we are closing on our house this Friday!!! I'm so excited!! But instead of moving in this weekend, we're going to wait a week or two so that we can get all the cleaning and little repairs done before we move in. I'm so excited that we are getting a house.
I'll put up pictures soon, once things have settled a little.

Utah
Last week we went out to Utah for my brother David's wedding. The day we left Houston it was raining and it was nice in Utah. My brother got married on Wednesday and then had the reception on Friday. We had great weather all week with temperatures in the high 70's. It was a very busy week with us going constantly. We did make a trip to BYU, a must, and stocked up on BYU gear. We also made it to temple square to look around. It was a good trip and nice to see family again. Then on Saturday, the day before we went home, we got snowed on. Daniel was probably happy to see the snow. When we told him that we were going to Utah he was so excited to see snow. Then it kind of rained and snowed on us as we left Utah. It was all good though. It was really nice to see the mountains again and to know where everything was and to also know which direction is what!! I have the hardest time knowing directions without those mountains.
When we got home, we got a good two or three days of heavy rain with tornado warnings and also flood warnings. Our backyard turned into a pond but luckily it drained pretty good. The backyard is still pretty squishy. Maybe I can plant some fish back there...
Happy day yesterday, I got a treadmill!!!!! YAY!!!! Pictures to come later...

Baseball
Daniel has really been enjoying playing t-ball and is getting better at it. So far he has played 8 games. Out of those games, his team has won 4 games, tied 3 games, and lost only 1. We were sad about that game. It was the 7th game that they played. They've really been doing good. He's the smallest on his team but he works hard. We are so proud of him!

And life goes on...
This past month has been very busy with baseball 3 days a week, sometimes games a week, and getting ready for our trip to Utah. Emily currently has a sinus infection that affected only her nose and eyes. Poor baby woke up yesterday and could only open her eyes after a bunch of rubbing because they were so caked with goo. After putting the eyedrops in one time, her eyes had made a very noticeable improvement and this morning when she woke up, there was almost no goo!! YAY!! She's also teething and I felt at least 8 teeth coming in. I think that maybe more than that are coming in. My poor baby is miserable and we hope that her mouth will feel better soon. She'll really enjoy having lots of teeth though. Then she can eat meat easier.
I am growing some plants on my back deck. 3 tomato plants, 1 pepper plant, and 3 or 4 strawberry plants. I have already harvested 2 berries off of the strawberry plants and am so excited that my first attempt at growing food seems to be doing good.
We were having some computer problems the past couple weeks but now it's fixed so I will try to get some pictures up before we head to Utah. And then some more when we get back.

How big can it be?
Killed in Conroe Texas
Hmmm, a "Radiology" worker that probably carries a 458 Win. Magnum (or larger) in their work vehicle? Well, after all, it is Texas ! At least they're still sane and mostly free down there. God Bless Texas !
How big can a wild pig really be, right? A lot bigger than I thought.
Over 1,800 lb. wild boar shot and killed in Conroe, Texas near the
County Airport, East of I-45 and near the community of Cut and Shoot.
Killed by a medical Radiology worker...What would you do if this beast
was coming at you? Run for dear life? Climb a tree? or simply get run over?

Six Wonderful Years
Mike,
The past six years of being married to you have been wonderful. You are so patient with me and remind me that things aren't as bad as they sometimes seem. You put up with some of my crazy moods and ideas and support me in my dreams. You also take such good care of me all the time and never even complained when I slept in the mornings while you were heading off to work. You never complain and you work so hard. You have taught me so much and make me into a better person by letting me watch you and spend time with you. I am so proud of you for all that you have accoplished and for all the things that you have learned and do to help improve our family. You love me and our kids unconditionally and we love and adore you.
Thank you so much for all that you do and thank you for loving me. I hope one day I can be as good a wife to you as you are a husband to me.
I love you forever and ever and ever.... and all eternity too.

She's a climber
Emily had decided that she now wants to climb most everything now. She climbs onto the couch and then leans over the back as far as she can. One of these days she's going to tumble over so she's no longer allowed on the couch unless she's being held.
I came out of the bathroom the other day and this is how I found my kids. She had climbed onto the table all by herself.
Then at Daniel's baseball practice she wanted to climb the fence. Mike helped her with that one. I have a very brave, adventurous little girl. Daniel loves to take care of her and make sure she doesn't get hurt.
She's also working on breaking in 4 molars. She still only has the four front teeth, two top and two bottom, so I'm kind of surprised that she's working on molars.
