First week of KINDERGARTEN!

Daniel started school last Monday and he did GREAT!! He woke up happy and excited to go school. He didn't cry at all and was excited to go and see what school was about and play with all of the toys available. Emily was VERY mad when we left him there and we didn't let her stay to play. Daniel came home and said that he had fun and that he had made a new friend.

The next morning was an ENTIRELY new story though.

When I woke him up and told him that he had to go to school, he started crying and telling me that he didn't want to go. When I asked him why not, he said that it was "too boring!"Finally, I convinced him to go after we put a picture of me and Daniel and Emily and his grandma Chai (we couldn't find a small family picture with mommy, daddy, Daniel, and Emily in it) into his backpack. I told him that he could look at it if he got sad or lonely or bored.

When I picked him up that afternoon, I asked him how school was. He said "Good. It wasn't as boring as yesterday." Now he goes without a problem and is enjoying all of the friends he's making. It also helps that he knows quite a few kids that go to that school. He can't wait to bring some of them home.

Such a helpful boy!!

Tonight me and Mike got a sitter and went out for a work bowling tournament. It was lots of fun and nice to get out of the house without the kids. When I got back from taking the sitter home, Daniel came and told me that I didn't need to worry about watering my plants because he already did it. He had also taken out the garbage by himself because it was getting really full. My little boy is growing up and is being so helpful and sweet. He also loves his little sister and takes good care of her. He's going to be starting kindergarten on Monday. I can't believe that he's going to be gone for 7 hours a day. I can't believe he's that old already!!

YUCK!!!

Okay, It's now the best picture but this is a roach stuck on it's back. We find one of these on almost on a daily basis. They are so gross!!
Okay, since we have now been in our house for just over a month, I figure that it's about time to post some pictures. Here is a front view of the house. The big window to the left of the door is Emily's window. She has a window seat in her room.

This is just to the side to show our garage, or as Mike calls it, his man-cave.

This is the formal dining room.

And this is the entry way.

This is a portion of the kitchen. I kind of like having the oven seperate, but it's a pathetic oven that doesn't cook well.

This is the breakfast area, whis is actually pretty big and then you walk through that doorway to the laundry room.

This is in our living room. The beams on the ceiling are going to come down because they make it so that the fan can't catch any air to move around. And they're just ugly.

This is the built in desk in Daniel's room.

This is the kids bathroom. Their tub looks better than the one in the master bath which is a hideous green. They will both eventually change.

This is our backyard. Just one big deck. It will be coming up soon so that we can put in a play set and hopefully get rid of all the bugs and roaches.

I'm loving having our new house. It's so big! It's nearly 2600 square feet! And one of the best things is that I get my own sewing room!!
