Baseball

Daniel's regular season of baseball is now over.  Right now, Daniel's team finished top of the league.  Now they just have to play the championship games.  Of course we hope that Daniel's team wins both the championship games.  They are both next week so I will post soon after those games are done.  We are very proud of Daniel.  He's been doing very well and has been improving.  During the second inning the coach on the other team told the kid batting "Don't hit it to that pitcher!  He catches everything!"  It made me laugh and was also a big compliment to Daniel's ability.  Daniel is also doing good in school and is being given an award at awards night for being top reader.  We love you Daniel and are very proud of your accomplishments!

Foot update

I had an MRI on my foot last Friday since my feet haven't been getting better.  When I had last seen the doctor, he said that I at least stretched the ligament that runs from the pinky toe along the outside edge of the foot to the heel.  Turns out that I tore that ligament in both of my feet.  He said that I need to keep using the walking boots for another 4 weeks and they should heal on their own.  I'm happy to finally know what's wrong with them and have an estimated time frame for healing.  Now hopefully my feet are healed in 4 weeks.  I'm also really glad that they aren't worse than they are.

You did what?!?

The night of April 20th was a nice evening for a baseball game and we were all heading out the door to go to Daniel's game.  Mike was getting the kids in the car and I was bringing up the rear with the diaper bag, 4 drinks, and a video camera.  I still don't know exactly what happened but as a stepped down the step out of the back door, my right foot stepped wrong and I tried to fix it and stepped even worse with my left foot.  There were some pops as I was going down and before I knew it I was on the ground crying and Mike and the kids were running to help me.  We still went to the game, even though I should have stayed home, and even though the game was great and they won, I was not enjoying it.  I was too busy dealing with TONS of pain and fighting dizziness.  Nearly two weeks later I went to the doctor and had my feet x-rayed. No breaks or fractures.  Just sprained. BOTH feet are sprained and I have been on crutches ever since.  The doctor says to keep them elevated and wrapped and give them time.  Yeah, uhhuh, SURE.  I am STILL on the crutches and can't do much walking and it's getting frustrating.  I guess it wouldn't be quite so frustrating if I could tell that they were getting better but they're not.  They are still just as bad as they were when I first did it.  I still have no idea how I managed to sprain them both.  And it's the worst spraining that I have ever done. Go figure that I would manage to not only get the worst sprain I have ever done, but I would do it to both feet at the same time.  Happy days.
