New addition

Travis and I are in Bountiful right now. We are visiting his family this week and next week we will go with his brother and wife to Orgeon (grandparents farm) and Idaho (grandparents cabin). We will have lots of pictures to post when we get back. It is because of our trip here that we have delayed our announcement. We wanted to tell his family in person. I am 16 weeks pregnant. I am nothing but a worry-wart and am afraid that any medicine, fumes, or anything just hurt the baby. Part of it is that I didn't have any morning sickness and the only evidence of me being pregnant is a growing belly. I don't have the pregnant bump yet, I just look like I've eaten Thanksgiving feasts for the past week and haven't worked out. I'm soooo excited for the day I get the "pregnant bump". I go in after we get back from vacation to get the blood tests done. Even right now I'm thinking that I shouldn't post this until after my doctors visit so I can make sure it's still there. I worry way too much. Anyways, that's about all for now. Hope everything is great in your neck of the woods.

This is my 8 week sonagram.

Yipee!

Two reasons to shout "Yipee!" Travis took the second part of the CPA exam and passed!!! He is 50% a real CPA. Tell him congrats. He plans on taking the last two parts this summer. Wish him luck. Also, work has been good for him. We are very blessed that he hasn't been assigned to clients that involve travel or extreme hours. As we hear his coworkers tales we realize we are truly blessed with the client he's assigned to. They also had their evaluations and he is above the average. I knew he was. That's why I married him.

Today was the last day of school. It was fun. I will miss them. I hope they all make good decisions and get someone in life. 3 were absent today. Two of which I wasn't sad to see they weren't here. But 1 I was disappointed. Oh well. Here are some pictures.

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

My principal gave us our TAKS results back today. In case you forgot what TAKS is (that means you haven't talked to me in the last 2 months), it is the humongous state test that Texas gives. Every lesson, homework, and assignment is designed with the TAKS in mind. There is only one thing bigger than the TAKS test in Texas schools, and unfortunately, it's football. Now I know you're thinking, "so..what are the results?" It would lose all effect if I simply told you. I need to refresh your memory on the kind of children I'm working with here. I was told by the principal, master and mentor teacher that I had the lowest 4th grade class to start with. My principal calls them "dregs". Here is the percent of passing for all their math benchmarks. 29%, 60%, 38% and 53%. These benchmarks are formulated to ask TAKS like questions and be as accurate as possible. My reading was not better. If you remember writing, they were grammatically slow (that's the nice way to say it) and as choppy with their sentences as waves beating against the shore. My principal and 4th grade team saw little hope for them. Now that you have an idea, here are the results. Drumroll please..................................

Writing: total 4th grade 100%
Reading: total 4th grade 83% my class 80%
Math: total 4th grade 91% my class 82%

I'm soooo proud of my class. This is truly outstanding for them. What do you say? Are you impressed or what?
