vests

Here are the 2nd set of vests and ties we made for the boys.  Talk about ADORABLE!!  This time we added mock pockets on the front of the vest and the ties on the back of the vests
And just in case you forgot our first adorable vest/tie combos, heres a reminder.  Can you blame me for wanting to show them off?  These are some of my first sewing projects and I'm a little proud.  ;-)

McDonalds Opening

For a McDonalds grand opening they had pony rides.  Douglas really wanted to ride the white one but the man thought it would be better for Harrison.  When we called Travis later that day to tell him about our day, the first thing Douglas said was that he wanted to ride the white one. Haha, ungrateful little boy.  :-)

Back to the snow

It snowed all day and broke Texas records for snow.  My mom came over to build a fort with Douglas.

This is the park by our house.
This is what Harrison was doing while Douglas was outside playing in the snow.

4th time

It's snowing for the 4th time this season.  That is unheard of here.  Not only is it snowing but it's been snowing ALL day.  We headed out before breakfast to make a snowman in the front and backyard.  When Harrison took his first step off the sidewalk and into the snow, he started crying.  He wouldn't walk in it unless we were holding his hand.
3 houses down our neighbor built a HUGE snowman so we took a picture in front of it.

Tot school

Tot School

I dabbled in "Tot School" a bit this past fall with the goal of getting into it full swing this year.  Douglas has preschool Tuesdays and Thursdays so my goal was just setting time apart any 3 days during the week for him to have "tot school".  The bottom of our entertainment center is where I keep the "learning games" that he can choose from.  There are about 6 different things in there each week.  We are real informal.  Douglas or I will say "lets play a learning game" and we head to the shelves.  I make Douglas finish a "game".  He's at the age where he should start finishing what he starts, unless it's super long and then it's my bad for making it so long.  Douglas, for the most part, loves "learning games".  Here is some of what we've done the last week and a half.  I didn't make any of this up myself.  I follow SEVERAL amazing preschool blogs that participate in "tot school" so I take their ideas.
Tot shelves
Patterns with conversation hearts, working on AB and AABAA patterns
1 to 1 correspondance w/ his counting mats
Fine Motor threading foam shapes
Pin the appropriate # clothespins on # circles
Number puzzle
Creativity and Building: we made a maze for his cars
Anyways, I want to preserve these memories and since it's my goal to blurb my blog, I plan on posting every 2 weeks our Tot school activities.

Girlboy

While playing with his friend (a girl) today and riding on a horse he said, I'm a girlboy. I said oh, a cowboy. He said, no, a girlboy. Oh great. I think our son is having gender issues and the following might be why.
Notice the lovely Snow White dress he is wearing.
What an excellent cleaner, he even gets under the rug.  Don't know where he got that from.
He did NOT want to take off the dress and everytime we go to Elena or Elly's house he always puts on a dress.  Should I be concerned?  :-)
