Christmas Day

Douglas and Harrison got a tag reader this Christmas from my Grandma and they both seem to really enjoy it.

Harrison loves to smile for the camera.
Santa drank all the mile and left a couple cookies.  Don't worry, Douglas ate them while opening presents.
Their big gift was from Santa and it was a trampoline.  The boys had a good Christmas.  Douglas said this to me yesterday, "Mommy, I'm sad Christmas is over.  Are you?  Because I like opening presents and you like baby Jesus."  I promise I talked about the nativity time and time again this month.  Any ideas/traditions that you guys do to put focus on the nativity? The night of the 23rd Douglas woke up at 2:30am and asked if it was time to wake up and go to Uncle Steve's house (for Christmas Eve).  I told hime he still had 4 more hours to sleep and then we'd do that stuff the next day.  I could see the bathroom light on and thought it was on for too long so I went to his room and he was cleaning his room for Santa.  :-)

Because of the previous night, I told him Christmas Eve that he could not come out of his room.  So at 6:45am I thought it was unusual that he wasn't awake yet. (he wakes up at 6:30.)  I went to his room and he said, " I haven't left my room for 2 hours."  Cute kid

Christmas Suits and fun

I bought these suits for the boys last year after Christmas.
The boys made Christmas Trees one night.
Travis made gingerbread houses with the boys.  I decided that I don't like gingerbread houses and making them b/c they are so messy.

Santa

My mom's work has a party every year where the kids can make crafts, eat breakfast, pick out 1 toy and sit on Santa's lap.  We've gone the last 4 years.

A few Crafty things

I better post some things before all the Christmas posts begin.  In October I made the purse that I've been meaning to make since April.  This bag has a pocket and a VERY secure snap fastner.  I sewed this completely on my own.  No help from Travis here. ;-)

I saw this turkey on a blog and had to do it for our felt board.  The boys liked it.
I saw this hat on a sewing blog with a very basic pattern and tutorial.  I knew I wanted Douglas to have one.  Since the pattern/tutorial was kinda of vague we needed to cut and pin the lining and try it on Douglas before finishing it.  I have very busy trying to finish the boys quiet book so I had Travis do that.  And after Travis sewing the lining I just had him finish the hat.  I wanted bragging rights to this hat but I was just too busy.  Travis is a stud!  The side view.  It is supposed to cover the majority of his cheek like this.
I think the hat is slightly to big b/c it flares a little at the ears but mostly this is how the hat is supposed to look.  Douglas loves his dino hat.   I'll be posting the full quiet book when I'm completely done.
