Soccer Fun Day

Bop spoiled Cortlyn with lots of trips to the snowcone stand!

So much fun! =)

Putting on the brakes and switching directions...

Nice move!

Yeah, Maya!

Yikes!

Getting ready to attack. =)
Concentrating hard

Turning the ball

Dribbling down field.

Maya bounced a few times as well.

Cortlyn enjoying the bouncy (a lot more than the poor boy behind her)...

Posing before it all kicked off. =)

To kick off the start of the soccer season, the Eclipse Academy hosted a fun day at the fields in Sienna--Maya and Cortlyn had fun on the bouncy and eating snowcones and hotdogs before Maya played three 3v3 games to finish off the day. It was fun to watch--Maya did a great job and had a blast. =)

Our Little Ballerina

I got a sneaky shot when the door opened
at the beginning of the session! =)
Getting ready for her first class with her friend Hannah

She loves to put on her leotards and dance
(and tap) around the house!

After attending a few years worth of Maya's activities, we decided it was time we let Cortlyn start up something of her own...Not old enough just yet for soccer like her big sister, she started talking a lot about ballet/dancing, so that's the direction we've gone for now.
She has been SO excited about starting up and last night was her first class--30 minutes of ballet followed by 30 minutes of tap. Her friend, Hannah, is in the same class so that's fun too. She had a blast and can't wait for the next class! It was so cute to see. =)

Not too many pics just yet because they keep the blinds closed during the first few weeks so the dancers don't get distracted, but there will be more to come over the next few months for sure! =)

Night Out Bowling

So much fun!

Cortlyn and William

Maya and Jack

Posing with her bowling shoes

Ready to bowl!

The Happy Dance!
Still waiting...

The waiting game...

Maya helping Cortlyn roll the ball.

Go Maya!

Last Saturday, we went out to the bowling alley with our friends James and Lizz and their sons, Jack and William, who Maya and Cortlyn adore. It was a really fun night out!

Maya had it down and did a good job (the ball was a bit heavy though!) and Cortlyn wasn't quite strong enough to get enough speed on the ball, so it took awhile for her ball to make it down to the pins. A lot of waiting occurred when it was her turn...so Maya started helping her out to make the game go a bit quicker. =)

BACK TO SCHOOL

Gotta show off that Ni Hao Kai Lan backpack.
Posing for her big day!
Listening to a great story from Mrs. Rabb.

So excited to see Miss Phillips again!

Maya's 2nd grade classroom!

Posing with her new cheetah backpack--matches her outfit! =)

Hard to believe, but Maya started 2nd Grade last week! She was SO excited to get her former kindergarten teacher again, Miss Phillips. She is loving school, as always.

And, Cortlyn went back to school today. Her teacher, Mrs. Rabb, came by our house for a visit a couple of weeks ago and Cortlyn enjoyed showing her around. Before she left, Mrs. Rabb read a really good bumble bee story. =)

Cortlyn's first day went great and she seems really excited about the new school year too! She's becoming such a big girl now--just like her big sister. =)

Road Trip To Florida--Part 4

We spent all of Monday on the beach once again--playing and feeding the seagulls . Cortlyn had fun attempting to "surf" with Mimi too.

We went back in the evening to hunt for more sand crabs--We caught some this time with the help of Dennis' nets and flashlights, but of course let them go before we left. And, we enjoyed singing some more (under the tent this time). =) We had been taking a dip in the pool every day, but this was our first evening to swim. The girls enjoyed it.

Sadly, our road trip would come to an end on Tuesday. We didn't want to leave, but it had to happen sooner or later. We headed to the beach one last time in the morning and used the nets to catch some fish this time, so that was fun! And, of course we made sure to take Maya and Cortlyn's picture by the Alabama welcome sign (since we had missed it on the way in) and headed on our way down the road.

What a wonderful time we had and a PERFECT way to wrap up the summer! =)

Thanks for coming with us Mimi and thanks to the Berners, too, for all of the fun we had with you as well!

Road Trip To Florida--Part 3

Sunday morning, we decided to take a peek at the Alabama outlet mall. It turned out to be a good idea and ended up being an all-day affair, as the rain rolled in right after we got there. It was actually perfect because we got all of our back-to-school shopping done and, by the time we got back to the beach, the rain was gone.

The girls were able to fish once again with Dennis and, like the night before, we went back to the beach to hang out for a bit.

Afterwards, we headed to the Berner's condo and Dennis entertained the girls with his songs--They LOVED it--dancing and singing right along with him! They also enjoyed listening to Julia sing.
