Not Me and More

So much is happened this past month, but you wouldn't know it by my blog. Maybe the lack of blogging is the message about how fast February blew past us.

With the church plant, Birthdays and a couple little trips, I feel like time is flying by. We have had an amazing couple of months at Restoration and I am so blessed to see the awesome ways God is moving, touching lives, renewing hearts and restoring His people...including me. I don't think I have experienced God's power in such unbelievable ways since I was a college ministry volunteer 10 years ago. God's vision for this church is so much bigger than ours and He keeps blowing my mind with the ways He is reaching into people's lives, meeting them where they are and filling them with a new joy! What an honor to be a part of God's mission to bring healing and love to His people.

Jed also had an opportunity to share our Restoration story at an Anglican church planting conference with 330 pastors and planters. Wow, was it awesome to see the confidence he has developed and ability to communicate beautifully. I could not be any more proud of the humble, passionate pastor that he is.

On the home front, things are exciting all the time. When you have a 2 year old bundle of energy and a quite grown up 5 year old, the days are always full.

Evan's favorite phrase is, "not me". Whenever we ask a question, other than who wants candy, he instantly replies, "not me". Who wants to go to the store..."not me". Who wants to color..."not me". Thankfully, it doesn't really mean he isn't interested it is just the first reply. He is talking up a storm (thank goodness because he really resisted words for quite some time). He still jumps off everything, runs wildly through the house and has a super goofy sense of humor that is contagious.

Haley is enjoying her little brother more all the time now that he has more words they can really play together. She insists on teaching him everything she knows and doesn't understand why he doesn't catch on quickly. She is starting to read, loves dancing and spends most of her time drawing. The artistic genes run thick on both sides of the family and we love watching her create things. Despite a couple bad words she learned this month (we still can't get it out of her where she heard them) she is doing awesome.

I've been doing some design work here and there, chasing kids, hosting an Alpha group with 20 adults for dinner each week, having playdates and enjoying the few days of sunshine here in Texas. Whew! My mom would say it is good I'm young:)

Here are some pictures from Haley's "heart phase". Just like Monet, she likes to focus on certain "studies". We have had the people phase, the house phase, the flower phase and most recently the heart phase.
