Easter

What a wonderful, fun-filled Easter! With so many ministers in our family, we all have Easter at home. So we have started a new tradition to gather each year with the leadership team at church and they are a new wonderful family. After a powerful Easter service at Restoration...Jed shared a great message of the hope we find in the cross...we shared a pot luck lunch with friends. The kids hunted eggs, played in the water and wore themselves out playing. We ended the day with more egg hunting at Gigi and G'Daddy's house and dinner.

I am so thankful for the amazing ways God has revealed himself, especially His love for us, this Easter season. He is Risen Indeed!

Pre Easter Pictures

Here is a little preview for all the cuteness that is coming this Easter. Evan INSISTED on wearing a pink polo to church on Sunday and got such rave reviews from people that he asked me if I could wash it so that he could wear it to school this week. He is so funny. He knows what he wants to wear and is super opinionated these days about each outfit.

(On a side note, his little girl friend Ella B. moved to Connecticut and we went to her going away party this Sunday and it was sad to say goodbye. All her relatives seemed to be pointing him out and making note of Ella's little boyfriend from school. He even asked me to "find a seat" at the party away from the bounce house so he could have his space.)

Spring Flowers & Friends

After church on Sunday we loaded up and headed to the Arboretum to see the spring blooms. The wind was pretty gusty but come on now....I am from the Oklahoma Panhandle. We have seen much worse wind.

I love the spring blooms and look forward to seeing the tulips, azaleas, etc. as soon as the weather starts warming up. This year we were a bit late to see all the tulips because it was cold and rainy the week before. I have found that it is really hard to find a time for Haley to do stuff with us as a family now that school has started. I miss our schedule from preschool but am adjusting. So, Sunday is a great family day!

Although we invited anyone from church to come join us for the afternoon only one family was able to come and we had a blast. The kids played in the fairy tale castle, splashed in the water, rolled down the hill & ran in the amazing green grass.

I wish we came to the arboretum with picnic lunches every Sunday...we would never regret this precious time outside together!

Funny Kids

Today, when getting in trouble for telling a lie, Evan looks up with sad eyes and says, "But, Dad...I am only 3 years old."

Seriously Evan...you are trying to get out of trouble based on your age already. I think the rules apply at every age little man.

Haley on the other hand has decided that all the snacks in her bag are not worthy to be eaten at school. I am not sure if kids are teasing her because I send healthy snacks or if she just doesn't like the things I send. Cheese and crackers, goldfish, cheerios, peanut butter crackers, etc. don't cut it these days.

So, I took all the snacks out of her backpack and sent her without any snacks. The second day of no snacks at school prompted an email from her Kindergarten teacher alerting me to the situation. I replied that I was fully aware that Haley had no snacks because I took them all away. Today I put some pretzels in her bag and I bet she'll enjoy them:) Ha! (she did enjoy the pretzels btw)
