Spotlight on Brian

What to say about Brian...

He still spontaneously tells everyone he meets that he loves them. He was shamelessly flirting with the waitress at dinner the other night...telling her he loved her...asking her to come to his house to help him find his "colorful bouncy ball"...telling her he missed her when she walked away from the table...it was hilarious!

He still pushes my buttons all the time. If I ask him to stop doing something he continues to do it at least 3 more times until I get mad at him. I'm working really hard on controlling my temper and not getting upset with him. I'd think a 4 yr old would be through with the terrible 2's, but evidently not Brian!

But he totally melts my heart when EVERY time that it's his turn to say the prayer he begins it with "Dear Heavenly Father, Please Bless Mommy"

He has amazing smiles, gives great hugs and I love cuddling with him (just not at 5AM!)

I Love that smile!

I found him sitting in Christian's exersaucer...had to take a picture!

I loved how he enjoyed getting hit directly in the face!

Brian I love you and I'm glad you're mine!

Spotlight on Aaron

Sometimes I look at Aaron and he's so cute and little.
Sometimes he still has the cutest natural smile.

Sometimes he lets me hug him and be my baby.

Sometimes my 6 year old is a little boy and acts like it.

Sometimes he has the goofiest smile and it drives me crazy when I can't get a real smile out of him on camera.

Sometimes he gets so focused on whatever activity he's involved in he's oblivious to EVERYTHING else. Especially when he's playing a game. He LOVES games!

Sometimes he amazes me with what he can accomplish. He's truly amazing!

Sometimes he seems A LOT more grown up than should be allowed.

Aaron, my not so little guy, I love you and I'm glad you're mine!

Brian's Birthday

My little guy is getting bigger! August 16th was his 4th birthday and he was so excited about having a birthday. He's been playing with the sound recorder on our Nintendo DSi XL and he sang a song very early the morning of his birthday that said "Today is my birthday, and it's day time, I'm so excited for my birthday to start." That REALLY doesn't do justice to how cute it was.

We celebrated his birthday on Sunday with my Mom since Paul had class on Monday night. He got lots of great presents and grasshopper pie. He really had a great day and we are so lucky to have such an amazing kid.

Wednesday I took him to the pediatrician for his 4yr check up. Other than the vaccinations which made him cry, he did great and the doctor agreed that he's a happy little boy. He weighed 41 lbs (75%) and was 40.5 inches tall (50%). He is very smart, loves to read, but loves electronics more. He knows how to push my buttons and drives me crazy, but he is so kind and loving to everyone and has the best smile. Happy Birthday Brian!

Grammy and Grandpa Thomas visiting

We love when Paul's folks are able to come visit and we were lucky that they were able to come this past July. Despite their hesitation in coming to Houston in the middle of the summer, I think EVERYONE had a great time. We were glad to be able to spend their 40th wedding anniversary with them. We think they are amazing and are so glad to be able to celebrate with them.

Summer Day Camps

I love my kids and had a great time with them this summer, but I also loved the 3 weeks when they were in day camps for 3 hours a day. I got a lot accomplished (cooking, cleaning, church work, even a nap one day) and they had so much fun!

The first day camp was Friendship Day Camp which is run by some of the youth in our church. It's held at their home and the kids do arts and crafts, play outside, eat lunch there and have so much fun. This was Aaron's 3rd year attending Friendship Day Camp and Brian's 1st. They also held it twice this summer and I signed my kids up for both weeks. Thanks to all those who helped run it!

They also attended Science Camp at the preschool Brian went to last year. While significantly more expensive, the kids loved it just as much. They came home with lots of information about the different habitats and did arts and crafts and had snacks related to each habitat.

I'm glad they were able to have so much fun this summer and I hope to be able to entertain them like this again next year.

Cooking for the Family

After my big freezer meal session with Jessi and Amy in February, I didn't do much for a while. I did teach some classes about making freezer meals for my ward Relief Society and the next ward over, but I didn't do anything myself until summer time.

In June I organized a freezer meal swap of a group of 8 women from church. We each picked one meal then made 8 batches of that meal then swapped with each other. This was great for me, as I got some meals I might not have made myself, but really enjoyed. I forgot to take a picture though :(

That same week I got a case of tomatoes and made a BIG batch of salsa with the help from Amy. I had done this 2 years earlier and tried not to be as afraid of the jalapeños this year. It ended up being almost too spicy for me, but Paul says it's just right. Don't ask me for the recipe though, I combined a few recipes and really have no idea what's in it!

As I got ready to do another freezer meal session for myself, I randomly changed my mind and decided to just do breakfasts. I made scones, french toast sticks, berry baked french toast and lots of breakfast burritos. Now I'm ready to give my boys healthy hot breakfasts before school with no additional effort at 7am!

I keep thinking about making more freezer meals...but not today...I'm tired!

Lake Conroe Summer 2010

We love spending time at my moms house at Lake Conroe and we were very glad to be able to spend some time there this summer when Paul had 2 months off from school. Last summer she got new siding, this summer she got a new roof and had the place painted inside and a new patio made. We love it!

Fuller Family Florida Vacation Part 2

While in Florida we had a local photographer take some family pictures of us at the most pristine beach I'd seen. With 6 little kids she had her work cut out for her, but we enjoyed many of the pictures. Here are some of the highlights.

Fuller Family Florida Vacation

We went to Destin, Florida with my family this June and had the BEST time! We rented this beautiful house 4 houses away from a beautiful beach. We spent a whole week relaxing at the beach, relaxing in the pool, eating good food, playing games and just having a great time being together. There are so many great pictures from our trip I decided to just post the slide show Paul put together. Enjoy!

Kindergarten Awards

I know I'm going back in time, but I've got a lot to blog from this past summer and I don't want to miss anything so I'm starting at the very beginning.

On Wednesday, May 26th Aaron had his Kindergarten Awards. He was adorable and so proud of himself. He had a great time in Kindergarten and loved his teacher, Mrs. Wilkins.

I can't believe how big he is getting, I get random flashes of him being so grown up. He is at a wonderful age, he loves learning, loves playing, and still loves to hug me!

We read a poem entitled Now We Are Six by A.A. Milne (the author of Winnie the Pooh)

When I was One,
I had just begun.
When I was Two,
I was nearly new.
When I was Three,
I was hardly me.
When I was Four,
I was not much more.
When I was Five,
I was just alive.
But now I am Six,
I'm as clever as clever,
so I think I'll be six now forever and ever.

Aaron memorized that poem and I just love it. I am loving this age for him and hope he stays my nice sweet boy for a while!
