Another month...

And a fun comparison...

Grandma and Pappy came to visit last weekend, but of course I never remember to take very many pictures :( We spent last Saturday at the Children's Museum and we did get a few good ones...I guess it's quality, not quantity.

Scott's getting big, but is still as cute as ever! He's slept through the night a couple times, but hasn't decided to make that a habit. He's much smiley-er and cooey-er, which is very rewarding for a Mom who is burning that candle in like 12 different places, not just the proverbial ends.

He sure loves his toys...

Time flies when you're having fun...

Scott is now 2 months old!! He's weighing in at 14 lbs 11 oz and 25 in long.

We've already moved into the 6 month clothes and the size 2 diapers, so we definitely have our work cut out for us! He's eating great, but not sleeping longer than about 4 hours :(

Allison is such a helpful sister! Here she is helping give Scott a bath.

Why do I wait to start projects 2 days before heading back to work?!?!

One of the perks of teaching is having summertime to do all those projects that pile up. I start back to work on Monday (even though I've had meetings here and there all summer), so I decided to tackle a few of those projects.

We have these nooks/niches in our house that the previous owner had painted brown. As pretty as they are, brown isn't really our color. What is? you ask...maroon of course!!! Maroon is a tough color to paint, it starts out really pink, but I love how it turned out!! Here's the best part of the painting project though...

Alli's happy face (and sleepy face because this was first thing this morning)

Already a month old!!

Before we know it Scott will be dating, driving and giving us teenager attitude, but for now he's just an adorable little lump.

He's sleeping about 4 hours at a time at night (which I'm super-thankful for) and he's eating really well. We know he's huge...gained a pound a week for the first couple weeks!! At his 2-week check-up he weighed 11 lbs 4 oz and was 23.5" long.

My two munchkins.

A fun comparison: Allison and Scott

We've actually gotten a bit of rain lately (thank goodness!!!),
so Allison had a chance to try out her new umbrella.
It's the cutest thing!!

Easter with the family

Easter with the Bell family in Tyler
The start of the Egg hunt:

Cute 2nd cousins: Jake Bell and Dylan Sharp

It takes every ounce of control I have to let her climb by herslf, but she's pretty good at it.

Maya and Allison being cute.
Easter with the Baird family in Sugar Land:

Spring- and Summer-time fun with Allison

Some random and various pictures that have accumulated...

We're still doing pretty well with potty training, though I fear that she'll regress a bit with the new baby around. She definitely proud of her sticker chart though; it's on display in our living room.

Allison and cousin Bailey getting along :)

At the Houston Zoo

Introducing Scott Gregory Baird

Scott was born on Thursday, June 23 at 3:13pm (so he's 2 weeks old already...time sure flies!!!). He was 9 lbs 14 oz, 20.25" with a head circumference of 14.5".

He was almost a week overdue, so we decided to induce (I'm what you call a little impatient; that and pregnancy in 100 degree weather is not fun at all!!). The labor went pretty easily, especially considering that he was as big as he was. I got pitocin at 5:30am, labored for about 7 hours until I got my epidural, then he was here right after that. No problems or issues during labor or delivery, I just got a bit stir-crazy afterwards sitting in the hospital. Once we got home, we settled in well. Allison is very proud of "her baby" and is doing pretty well being a big sister.

Unlike Allison, Scott does not like being swaddled at all. I gues he was stuck in my belly long enough that he's ready to spread out. He always sleeps with his hands by his face. I love this look, he's very pensive; either trying to find a solution to the world's energy crisis, or maybe just thinking about his next poop.

Fun times on Saturday morning

Have I mentioned how I cherish Saturday mornings?
After a big family breakfast, I head off to the grocery store for an hour of peaceful "Andrea time" while Greg stays home and keeps Allison entertained. Ever since Allison hit about 18 months old, grocery time became no fun for me, so it's now my standing Saturday-morning date.

Maybe Greg's not the next Ansel Adams, but what a cute picture.
Look for Allison on Top Model Cycle 28.

and I absolutely adore this picture. She's Daddy's little girl.

What?!?! Something other than pink?!?!

The Bairds are definitely excited about a baby boy joining the bunch!! I've already done a bit of shopping. Boy clothes are the cutest!!!

And so my Mom sees which nursery set we decided on, here are a few pictures of the sports-with-a-few-animals themed nursery
Notice the footbal, baseball, soccer ball and basketball sitting in the crib, as well as the mobile with nothing attached? Here's that full story...we buy the set and I can't wait to unpack it all, so I head upstairs and starting ripping apart the packaging. It's like they think some super-stealth nijna will break into Babys R Us and steal the dust ruffle from the set, so it's all in there with those plastic connectors and wires and booby traps. I just start cutting away at it all, not realizing that a few of the cords I'm cutting aren't for security purposes; they're what is used to hang the things from the mobile...oops. I'll probably get some cute blue and red ribbon to reconnect it eventually, but there's still lots of decorating to do.
