The Hillside House
As Jeff's job right now, he is fixing up this home on Hillside Avenue in Broad Ripple. He installed the landscape and refinished the floors. He has also acted as the "general contractor" and hired guys for plumbing, electric, drywall, etc. In just two months, this place has been transformed.
Here are a few before/after pictures. The kitchen felt very small . . .
'til Jeff had a wall bumped out, painted the cabinets, and had tile floors and granite countertops installed:

Super 60
We were all together with Jeff's family to celebrate Mom Rack's "Super 60th" last weekend. The ladies of the family had a birthday tea party for her.
We also did a talent show. Emma loved being included with her cousins, Cassia and Ashlyn, in a ballet dance. She looks up to them so much.
And the men, not wanting to be outdone, performed "Johnny Be Good"as "Chin-i-gans." (L to R: Eric, Jeff, Scott, and Gramps)
We also spent a day at the lake and everyone went tubing, even Dolly, Aunt Jayme's amazing dog!
And, Emma quickly learned the hand signal for "SLOW DOWN!" She used it quite frequently on her turn.
It was great to be together and celebrate 60 years of life for Mom Rack. We love you!
Emma-isms
"Grandma, where's your swapper?"
"My swapper?"
"Yeah, your fly swapper."
***************
"Mom, can I have some of that ator-gade?"
"The what?"
"You know, that drink in the fridge?"
****************
And, she still calls nail polish "tail molish." It's one of those last words that she still mispronounces and I don't want to correct her, because I want her to stay little! :)

Vacation
We just returned from a week with my family in Northern Michigan. The Lake Michigan coast is one of my favorite places to be. I love how natural it feels, and how quiet it is.

The weather could not have been more perfect, so we spent lots of time out on the water. Here's Clay driving the boat with Grandpa Dave.
This is the tiny frog Clay found for the camp's frog race.
And this smiling boy is our 5 month old nephew, Brayden. He would win the Happy Camper award for the week. He has this smile almost all the time! Such a sweetie.

And the whole family . . . some of my favorite people in the world. We love you!
