End of the World Party

Here are the much anticipated pictures that were taken at the End of the World Party from Sandis camera.  You can see the other pictures here:  End of the World Part I

The dress code was to wear all black.

By this time there was quite a bit of wine consumed.

Jenn decided to make us foil hats to save us from the aliens or something...  Not sure.  But I love that mine looks like a takeout Swan.

There was a lot of wine, a lot of board games and A LOT of laughing.

Garrett's, gulp, 19th Birthday

NINETEEN!!!  How??!!

What he did all day on his birthday.

Rachel made place cards and she wrote this for Garrett.

He wanted Pumpkin Pie as his dessert

Steak, fettuccine alfredo, steamed green beans, and french bread.

Snow!

The Great Blizzard of 2013 in Tucson, Arizona~~!!!

It snowed, and it snowed for a long time.  Unfortunately I was working during the time it snowed, but I managed to get a few pictures.

This was at the beginning of the "Blizzard".  It snowed and it stuck!  AND there was quite a bit.  By the time I came out 10 hours later, there was snow still on my windshield.

Then and Now

Thanks to Pinterest I got a great idea for a Christmas present to give my parents.  I think I also saw it on an episode of Modern Family too.  My sister and I recreated a picture that was taken 30 years ago.  Here it is:

Love of Reading Week

Since I volunteer at the girls school library twice a week and run the book fairs three times a year, I have become the unofficial spokesperson for reading at the school.  Which I LOVE.  The librarian and I decided we wanted each class to decorate their door with a book or books of their choice during Love of Reading Week.  I decorated the library door with a picture from the book The Library Dragon.

This was the page that I took the idea from:

Here is my door:

Moms Birthday and that little thing called the Superbowl

Every year Sandi and Shaun throw a Superbowl party.  Each person brings a meat they want to grill and an additional dish to share among everyone.  I bring dessert.

This is a homemade version of the "Payday" candy bar.  I decided to add a bit of chocolate to make it better, because everything tastes better with chocolate.

Since my moms birthday is on the 1st, we celebrate her birthday at the Superbowl party.

I got her a bottle of her favorite wine with the cute Marilyn Monroe type of dress to "wrap" it and a cute plastic (because she tends to break her glasses) wine glass that was hand painted.

There were a ton more pictures taken as the night went on that I did not take and they are floating around somewhere.  Personally I didnt remember a Superbowl since I was running around with Sandi and her friends Jen and Lisa.  We had a blast and I had a major hangover to remind me of the blast we had.

FroYo

One night the girls and I went to the UofA to get some ice cream at a Baskin Robbins. We were in the area.  As we were walking there we discovered another ice cream place we wanted to try.  I promised them we would come back.  To their excitement we did.  This place has two FULL walls of any type of candy you can imagine and four different types of frozen yogurt to choose from.

This is just one side of the candy to choose from.  It is amazing.

Laura's Birthday Weekend

Laura originally wanted a cabin in Mt. Lemmon, but in January we are worried about snow and road conditions so mom suggested Madera Canyon.  I am so glad she did.  It was a beautiful area and perfect for a bunch of noisy teenage girls (and their equally noisy chaperones).

Laura's theme for her party was Starbucks.  Its her one major love besides clothes.  I made four "goody bags" for her and her friends.  Starbucks was sweet to give me the glasses, so I filled them with nail polish remover, finger nail polish, nail file and nail clippers and topped them off with cotton balls.  I made them look like coffee. I thought it turned out really cute.

Decorated this frame for her to take home later and use also as a decoration.

I made a banner

The table

We had the girls write to Laura on the mug with a sharpie.

Gorgeous!

The cabin

We had two cabins.  One for the teens the other for the adults

Spent a lot of time here.

Our back patio.

I loved their sign

Serena, Dani, Zoe and Laura

Mom bought everyone blankets to make and then keep, which was good because it was VERY cold.

Laura finished hers.

I made one of her favorite meals, Mac and Cheese with ham, along with Caesar Salad and french bread.  This was my stove.  Thankfully I made it the night before and I just had to warm it up.

She wanted chocolate pudding pops as her dessert.  I decorated them with the Starbucks picture.

The next day we had a picnic for lunch since we had to check out by 11 and most of us were still sleeping by then.

Time to sing Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday LoLo.  I love you!
