One of Rick's Christmas presents was a certificate for a 75 minute ground instruction and flight. He scheduled it for yesterday (Saturday) morning. The weather was beautiful and he said he had a really good time. I think he was disappointed that his instructor didn't push a sales pitch to continue lessons, but I plan to make that happen when the money tree out back begins to produce. :o)
Scott had the neatest idea for Rick's birthday...and this coming from a guy that doesn't like basketball. He knew our backboard and goal had been down for quite awhile and wanted to replace it for Rick. Not just purchase it, but have it up before he left for Basic Training. He was so determined and he got it done. Soooooo thoughtful. Of course, we've already 'let' the old man beat both of us at round of P-I-G. Lol.
Scott secretly tutored Rick on the guitar for a couple of days. Valentine's night I was sweetly serenaded with Love Me Tender. *sigh* It was PRICELESS to me.
I don't really know when I turned the corner on this one-from being frustrated and agitated by the Axis and Allies marathons, to where I am today-but I'm glad it happened. I truly enjoy doing my own thing while listening to the game-playing coming from the other room. Wow, what a difference a few years make. Lol. (Yes, Christmas is still up. I've enjoyed the decor and Spirit in this room. Besides, truth be told, it seems like a whole heck of a lot of work to put it away.)
