Breck Anthony made his debut, after a very quick delivery, on September 28, weighing in at 6 pounds 14 ounces and 20 inches long! He was almost exactly the same as his big brother. Breck is a wonderful baby with a very calm and mild temperament. Big brother Cason is thrilled that he is out of mommy's tummy and he can give Breck actual kisses now.
Life with two is so different but in a good way. Cason is taking a little time to adjust to not having Mommy all to himself but nothing at of the norm for a, almost, two year old. Mommy is doing much better the second time around since Breck is such a good sleeper. Daddy is still a paranoid Papa this time around but I guess that is just the male protective instinct in him.
We had a home birth this time around and it was amazing! The labor and delivery was intense since it went so quickly, 4 hours, but the comfort of being at home and in the care of a wonderful midwife was worth it all. Breck was so alert immediately after birth since he has no drugs in his system and that made the pain so worth it.
We are so excited to start this new adventure in our lives as a family of four. The boys are already buddies and I know that love and bond will grow and we look forward to seeing them grow together. Enjoy the pictures!

What a great Labor day weekend!
We had two excited events happen this labor day weekend, first, and my personal favorite, Cason was potty trained!!! Second we went to the zoo on the first cool day since May! It was beautiful!
Cason was the easiest toddler I have ever potty trained. And that is saying a lot! I have worked in childcare for 10 years and have potty trained a lot of two and three year old. He pretty much did it on his own. We have always taken him to sit on the potty before bath and on other occasions when he seemed interested. At around 18 months he really became interested but I was still working and it was too difficult to spend the time needed. Also he didn't quite have the vocabulary yet. So I decided I would take him when I could and in the mean time work on build his vocabulary. Well over this last month Cason's favorite thing to do was run around naked. He would always asked at diaper changes, "Nakie?" I would tell him, "Ok, but you can't potty on the floor." Well after just a few times of potting on the floor he realized what was going on and didn't do it anymore. So last week I decided ww would spend a few days naked and low and behold he potty trained!! We had a small potty in the living room and he would use his big potty as well. The best part, he would go all by himself when he needed to. He could also tell us when he needed to go. The next step was getting him used to wearing clothes. He had a few accidents with the clothes but quickly picked up on the idea. With in four days I could officialyl say he was potty trained. I can't believe it, my 22 month old took less than a week to potty train!! It is a great feeling knowing I will only have one in diapers :)
Now on to the zoo. Nana and Poppi came down for a visit on Sunday and since the weather was going to be gorgeous we planned a trip to the zoo for Monday. Hannah, Kyle, Emi, Abby and Livi, joined us as well and we had the best time!! The kids really loved seeing the animals and you could tell that the animals were excited about the cooler weather too. The lions were very playful and came right up to the window. Cason even thought he was petting them. Of course there was thick glass separating the two of them but he didn't care. The lion was only centimeters from him and he could put his hand up to him. It was too cute!
I have to say that this Labor day weekend was the most memorable and probably the best I have ever had!! Family, potty training and a cool day it doesn't get much better!!

Cason is Growing and so is Breck!!
Well I am 35 weeks and Cason is 22 months!!! Wow! It seems like yesterday I was writing these blogs to update my status with Cason and now here we are in the home stretch with Breck and Cason is almost two. I truly can not believe how fast time goes. I am just so thankful that I get to spend this precious time with my babies. I know it won't be long and they will be in school and then time will really take off.
Cason is getting so big! He is such a smart and amazing little boy. In fact he has pretty much potty trained himself. He decided that he didn't want to wear diapers and that he wanted to be "nakey." I explain to Cason that he can only do this if he tells me when he needs to go potty and voila! He did it! WOW!! I have trained many a toddlers and never had one this easy. Cason also knows most of his colors now and is working on counting and letters. Seth and I love to see the new things he learns on a daily basis.
Cason is very ready for Breck to come. He talks to him everyday and gives him kisses. He also tries to bring him food and toys. I truly believe he understands what is going on. We look at Breck's pictures and vides and Cason knows he is in my tummy. He is also very in love with any baby right now. I know that he is going to make a great big brother!
So as far as Breck goes we only have a few more weeks to wait. We have planned a home birth this time around so right now I am concentrating on making it to the magic number 36. Once I have reached that point we can't be denied our home birth. Obviously we want this little one to stay in as long as he needs to but I know I will have a huge load off my shoulders once we make it to 36 weeks.
That is about all for now enjoy some pictures!
He loves to immiate Daddy!

Summer fun!
We have a had great summer!! Caosn has been able to do so much! We first spent time at the Lucas Farm in Mexia picking peaches and tomatoes. Cason is a farm boy and loves it outside. He loves playing in the dirt, eating the fresh fruit, and sweeping Granny's floor :)
After the farm we then spent some time in Hunstville with Grandma Honey and Papa Bear. Cason had a blast playing basketball with Aunt Banana. We then headed to the beach!! We had such an amazing time playing in the sand and enjoying the water.
Needless to say it was a busy time! Enjoy the pictures I will let them do most of the talking and keep this short.

Long time no post.
Well for any of you out there who still look at this blog here is a new post for you!
Cason is now 19 months old and is giving Seth and I a run for our money!! He is such a smart and ornery little boy. And I say little boy because he has thrown the baby stage out the window!
Cason is currently doing swim lessons and after a rough start seems to be doing better. He love water so we wanted to be sure he learned a few safety tips and basic swim moves in a controlled environment before going out to adventure in larger areas of water. Also this summer Seth had been taking Cason to Lowe's and Homedepot for their Kids Building workshops. Cason LOVES this!!! He get to build fun things and use tools, which he is all about. He doesn't enjoy playing with toys much because he would much rather be helping mommy and daddy, whatever that might be. He loves to cook, wash dishes, do laundry, and help with home improvement projects. Although this is not the easiest on mommy and daddy we know that he is a little sponge absorbing and learning from the world around him
In case you haven't heard we are having another little boy!! We are over the moon excited about this. We know that Cason and Breck are going to be great friends!!! Breck is doing well and growing at a much more rapid pace than Cason did. I can feel little hands and feet now when he sticks them out against my belly. He also makes my belly look like he is trying to escape through the skin!
Well that about all for now so how about some pictures!!!

Big news all around!!
In Cason news he is growing like a weed and maturing overnight on us. He is such a smart little boy and a quick thinker. He loves to play pretend and cook like mommy and daddy. He even uses a pot holder to carry his pots around. Of course his favorite thing is being outside. He will stay out there all day if we would let him. This is going to be a short post with just a few pictures but once we get more of the house we will post them.
Enjoy!Thursday, January 6, 2011
Where has the time gone!
Sorry this post is so late! I will try to do a better job of keeping up with the blog this year.
So where do we begin......
Cason is doing great! He is so smart! It just blows us away on how much he knows and understands. He is really interested in sign language so we have been working on that quite a bit. He can sign please, thank you, all done, bath, cereal, milk, blue, red, elephant, giraffe and eat. There maybe some more but those are the most used right now. Yesterday he did three signs in a row for me. He saw the Cheerios on top of the fridge and then signed eat, cereal, please! I was so impressed. He also has words that he can say like momma, daddy, kitty, and doggie. I also think that he can say Keaton. Keaton is the baby that I watch and Cason just loves him!
We had a good time visiting on our Christmas Break. We went to Nana and Poppi for three days and got to ride on the tractor with Great-Grandad, help feed the cows, pet the horse and had fun playing outside in the country. After leaving there we traveled to Papa Bears and Grandma Honey's house. Cason got his second haircut, which he did not like, but it looked great. He had a fun time chasing the Kittys around the house and visiting family.
Our Christmas however was not great. When we got home on Thursday Cason started running fever. By Christmas morning his fever was 104 and he had been miserable for almost three days. Since of course there where no doctors offices open we ended up in the ER at Children's. They told us he has a viral throat infection that looked and acting like strep but couldn't be treated. So we went to our homeopath to get something to help the little guy get over it faster. The doc had told us it could last a week! I did not want him in that pain for that long! He is still battling the virus though as it has done what most viruses do, and caused a secondary infection. But he is on the mend and will hopefully make it through the rest of winter without complications.
Now on to some news.....
We are buying a house!!!! We are very excited since this will be our first home. The idea of having a home, raising our family in it and calling it ours is so overwhelming! We know that this is a wonderful step for our family. I will post some pictures of the house as soon as I can.
Well I think that is about all for now. Enjoy the pictures!!
