Santa Barbara Sledding

This is what we do for sledding when it's 80 in January.

We ate this

I made the mistake of saying Ojai had no good burgers. Philip brought this home. Bacon, avocado, grilled onions on a monster burger. Yum.

And because I think my kids are pretty cute

I finally have put my pics on my computer and thought some were worth posting. This is Ben smelling Christmas lights and insisting that, "mmmm, smells good".

This is so I won't forget the funny thing Amelia said today. At Phil's new job he doesn't get wined and dined every day so he comes home for lunch. Today, he didn't come home. Lunch came and went and about 2pm, after asking many times if dad was coming home yet, Amelia says, rather angrily, "why didn't you let dad come home for lunch today?I'm angry at you!!"

Some great things Amelia says (and Ben too now)

Amelia getting dressed and I hand her a pair of army green shorts she has had and worn forever. She explains why she can't bear to wear them anymore, "Well, green is just not my best color." We compromised and passed them down to Ben. (they were boys shorts to begin with so don't worry folks)
He also said once, "mmm you smell like a hot dog". It's hard not to think I have an odor problem.
While getting into a smelly elevator Ben plugs his nose and says, "It smells bad in here. Like you." me,"like who??" walk over to me and touches my leg, "like YOU!" so sad.
After ending a call with Phil to see if he wanted to meet us for lunch at our favorite hamburger joint, the Habit, I told Amelia that he was busy and I wasn't sure if he could come. She says, "I'm going to call dad and tell him he's not busy"
During one of a hundred total meltdowns I asked her why she was crying: "I don't like to sleep because I am so tired" That answer was absolutely correct!!!
In a prayer tonight, "please bless I went on a walk, no I didn't go on a walk, yes I did" (we walked and she sat in the stroller, so I think that is why she was confused as to whether she walked or not)
I don't need anymore patience. I'm all done.
Amelia came out in tears after I shabbily put her to bed with no song, kiss and hug. She says exasperatedly to me, "You just left me"
Can I eat this garbage? (referring to a cupcake wrapper and the cake that was stuck to it)
I'm bleeding for band aids
A: Can I have a cookie? V: No A: Mom, you say YES
I bought a scratch at the zoo today. See it. Right here on my body. (showing a scratch from a fall down some stairs)
While playing I pretended I was going to sit on her and she says,"nope, too fat"
(Explaining why her baby is in my bed) My baby's freakin' out. She needs to settle down.
(to Ben) Hey little weirdo. (mom to A) Hey, that's not nice to call him that. (Amelia to Ben again) Hey, grumpy boy. (mom) Amelia, that's not his name. (Amelia) Hey buddy boy. (Fine)
Dad's name is Philip. I'm a tell dad his name is Philip.
Mom, Am I driving you nuts?
