halloween galore!

on thurs, carter had his cute little halloween pre-school party. they all got to wear their costumes and they played games, sang songs, ate yummy treats etc. carter had a great time.

guire, sam, gunner, madison, lucy, carter, & will
and cute ellie in her wonder woman costume (i tried to crop you karis as good as poss :)!

in the evening we went over to mesa to craig and dawna's ward trunk or treat. it was so fun and it was cute to watch the kids holding hands going from car to car. savanna was a little skeptical about the fog/smoke. but they both had a blast getting candy!

my friend kristen put the bling on savvy's sweet kicks! thanks again! i love um.

ella as tinkerbell

we had some friends n fam over for a little chili cook out before treak or treatin and it was still so freakin hot, but we had a good time.

this is my friend sherri's little boy trey. he is such a cutie! future missionary!

we saw lots of friends along the way

after we were all done treak or treating, carter was a scavenger and was eating out of the food that had been out for a few hours. i think he thought it tasted even better later. funny boy! so yeah for halloween fun and i'm glad we are done. i'm exhausted!

trials......

life just doesn't seem fair sometimes. this week has been an emotional one for me and MANY others. our good friends the cook's found out that their little baby girl bree has neuroblastoma cancer. we are all hopeful for a full recovery, but it will be months of chemotherapy and trips to the dr. etc. kari has become a good friend to me since living here in az and i can't help but be strengthened by her. she is so strong and positive and while i was crying i felt her uplifting me! we are having a ward fast and their new ward is fasting as well for miracles, for faith, for hope, for strength, and i've really never felt so "full". sometimes it seems that people go thru trials to help other people become stronger. i can't really explain myself, but i am grateful for their examples to me already just in normal every day life. thru trials miracles are brought to pass and we are hopeful that will happen!

bree taylor cook

i stole this paragraph below off kari's blog and just felt that it was so inspired of what was about to come. she wrote this a couple of weeks ago before their cruise w/ just bree and justin's side of the family. before they found out about the cancer. it's just an honest account of how much she loves her family! cook family we love you and our prayers are w/ you guys and your sweet baby bree!

Yesterday was just one of those moments in time where I loved being together with my family and truly wanting to freeze time just so that I could look at each of my children's faces and memorize them before they grow up on me. I know life goes so fast and there are some days when I cant wait for the day to be over and to have a moment to myself, but I know this will pass me by in a flash if I dont appreciate the little moments. So, here's to our little family...enjoying the here and now, relishing the sweet times and loving each moment!

say arrrrrghhhh!

i bought these eye patches for carter's pre school halloween party next week and we had to give them a try tonight! it created some fun entertainment! savvy didn't want to take her's off.

and can i talk about a freak out moment. savanna has been seeming to be more aware of her body lately and so we've pulled out the little potty. i was getting the kids ready to take a shower and had savanna sit on the potty and while i was talking to carter.......... she totally went potty! i freaked out and yelled for bren to come share the enjoyment! i'm sure she's not getting potty trained any time soon, but hey it's a step in the right direction! way to go savvy!

back in az

i think one reason it wasn't so sad to leave ca was because most of the fam came back w/ us this time! my cousin colin came back from his mission to belize/el salvador, so everyone came out for that and to finish up w/ going thru all of granner's stuff. it was so fun to have to have my dad and the suman fam come stay w/ us for a few days.

there was lots of heavy stuff to lift, so the boys were super helpful in taking care of that. there was a lot of work to be done and i think the house is almost ready to be rented out. they started in the morn doing a garage sale, but by 11 or so they just had a FREE sign out and people were coming by the dozens! one sweet grandpa guy was putting stuff on the top of his car inside and out. it was a little crazy!

savanna fell asleep in the car, so we made a little bed for her in the closet. it worked pretty well.

sunday was colin's homecoming talk (and joe's). it was a trek up to cottonwood, but worth it and it's always so refreshing to hear young missionaries speak.

carter and ava have so much fun together

eric, me, colin, and laura

today we went to the park and then cafe rio (for the 2nd time in 2 days), so eric and laura could get there fill. we already miss you guys! have a safe drive back to ca!

ca trip oct 2008

we are back from an amazing trip to ca! we had SO much fun. i drove out w/ the kids by myself prepared for the worst and it was prob one of the best trips out there! they slept, they ate, they watched sleeping beauty (only one show), and just were so dang good! yeahhhh! i hope every trip out there can be like that. whenever we go to ca it seems like we need to fill our days w/ as much stuff as possible, so this time was no different. i did a bunch of hair in the beg (which paid for the trip out there). and it was fun to make some side $. be prepared i posted WAY too many pics, but for me there is a story behind each one! i'm excited for our next trip back out there already planned in nov! wooohooo!

yeah to my kids for being such GOOD travelers!

it always seems that the weather is unpredictable when we go out there. this was a nice cool eve. it felt SO good to be outside and comfy!

on sun, we had the lucas fam up for dinner w/ my dad and karen, and some of the sumans. sunday dinners are always the best! this is cute anna and savanna!

sherri and her kids met up w/ us one day at the spectrum and anna and savanna were in amazement w/ the dogs!

carter and chase having so much fun

we went to the park one day (a bit of a HOT day) and the kids had fun playing together. i swear all the moms are either preg or have a newborn! what's in the water in hb :)!

my dland pass expires on the 25th so that was part of the reason for the trip. it was fun to see all the halloween set up. esp since carter is obsessed w/ halloween right now.

finding nemo (not my fav ride). carter was a little emotional thru the whole ride, but in the end i think he liked it.

jungle cruise

carter is typically scared to go on the haunted mansion and when we we go down in the elevator he gets kinda freaked and cried, but once he was able to see all the fun halloween stuff right after it was over he asked to go again. i'm glad he worked out his fear. i love that ride!

jeremy and carter are both sorta freaked going on pirates, but for some reason they were willing to give it a shot, so we went for our last ride and it was way fun. love the guy in the background. thanks camille and laura for being so willing to go at like the hottest part of the day and stay so late! it was one of the best trips to dland!
our last day in ca had to be a beach day! the weather was perf w/ no wind. love those days. oh how we love the beach!

keep counting.....
