one month

i can't believe it's been a month! some days have felt eternal, but looking back it's gone by fast! i'm feeling great and started working out a couple of weeks ago which has helped my mood SO much! i wish i got more sleep, but it's better now that i'm not in pain anymore! the kids are in LOVE with the baby and can't get enough of him. bren and are in love with him too :). some things about gavin:

-he eats almost 6 ounces every 4 hours
-recognizes when he's alone, he'll be dead asleep in my arms and then i lay him in his bed and he wakes up crying! kinda buggin, but we are working on that
-likes his swing
-has given a couple smiles
-wakes up every 2 to 3 hours at night, but goes 3 or more in the day (we are working on that too)
-loves showers and the bath
-sleeps the best in his car seat

happy 1 month little boy! we love you!

a baby story

i have been a little less than wanting to blog lately, but since i don't want to forget this little one's arrival story, i figure now is as good a time as any. rewind back to sunday, the 23 of august i was sick and throwing up and starting to have contractions thinking i could go maybe tonight, so i packed my bag, the baby's bag, and we made a few phone calls, but then the morning came and nothing. i went to the gym, then the dr. on mon hoping she'd have good news and say something hopeful, but instead she said looks like your dialated to a 3 and 40% effaced, she said you could be like this for a while. sweet. so another night with no sleep and on tues i went to the gym hoping to get some relief from contractions, but they just kept coming. we went to costco and by then i'm thinking i gotta just lay down. brennan said why don't you start timing the contractions to see how far apart they were, so from 3-630pm they came in strong about every 7-10 mins. i was in PAIN to say the least. i did manage to join facebook in between contractions and i'm loving reconnecting w/ some old friends! k that was a side note. finally, i decided to take a bath for an hour and i got out feeling SO much better. i thought my contractions were gone i can breath again. yeah. an hour or so later they just kept coming and coming and at 230 am i finally woke up bren to say we gotta go to the hospital. we called our sweet neighbor jason to come stay w/ the kids and left for the hospital. as we were driving the whole mile and a half it takes to get there the black eyed peas song "i gotta feelin" was playing on the radio. brennan said tonight's gonna be a good night. i had to fill out some paper work and we went upstairs to find out i was at almost a 7! hello get me an epidural i'm dying! they had to pump me w/ fluid for a while before i could get it, but after an hour or so i was WAY ready. and in walks the dr. to do the epidural an old friend from ricks college days (ty church on the basketball team). i was like hello this is a little awkward, but i just was ready for the drugs. about 2 hours later at 640 am i pushed about 4 times and out came our little baby gavin! at 10 days early and 8lbs 6oz and 20inches our biggest baby to date! giving birth is the BEST thing ever i'll be sad when one day it will be our last!
