This is the last birthday post, I promise, but what can I do. We have 3 birthday's in April. Jackson's birthday was on the 12 and he had about 8 kids show up to help him celebrate it. It was a very low key party. They jumped on the tramp, play basketball and played on the Wii. That was about it, besides the traditional cake and presents. It was great and low stress for me.

Lazer Planet Party
Yesterday was Jon's birthday and we went to Lazer Planet. The kids had a blast. They got to play 3 games, but the thing I liked most about it is I didn't have to do anything for it. The place provided the pizza, drinks and cakes. We just had to show up. That's how I like to throw a party.

Ellie's Birthday
Last Friday Ellie turned 7. She is getting too old. Crazy. We decided to have a tea (cocoa) party for her. It turned out so cute and the girls had a great time. Check it out.

Crazy Hair Day
This morning the kids got up and woke their poor cousin up so she would help them with their hair for Crazy Hair Day. I think they look pretty crazy.

Bursting at the Seams
So Sunday my Sister-in-law called and needed a place to stay with her 2 kids and my other sister-in-law. We said sure, but how long. They said 2 days, so I knew this would be a breeze. Well, 2 days isn't gonna happen and now we are hoping for a week, but I fear it will be till the first. So far things are going just fine. Everyone is happy and getting along.
I'm glad we are blessed with a house large enough to acomadate us all, but I fear that after too many days together we may not like each other too much anymore. Tempers will surely get shorter and things may get said that shouldn't be.
Please keep us in your prayers. I know I will be praying for patience.

Absent Minded
Easter was a bit hard. I cooked everything and got too absent minded and put a bit of ham in my mouth when I pulled it out of the oven. Once I swallowed it, I realized what I had done. I ran and got a glass of water, and the water wouldn't go down, but I kept drinking and started the throw up. And then I'd drink more and throw up more, and over and over till the water would go down. I was so scared, but I was fine after. I am such a dummy. It made me realize how bad of habits I have to break. Just putting food into my mouth without thinking. I was doing too many things at once and it just happened, but I don't want it to ever happen again, so I need to really pay attention.

Yummy

This morning I woke up and had some sugar free hot cocoa. It tasted so good, and went down with no pain. Sooooo good. Oh how I love flavor.

A Few Bumps

Recovery was going so good. I wasn't very sore, I could move very well, and eating was going awesome. I was following all the rules, so everything should be smooth sailing right? Well 2 days ago I woke up feeling a little sore, so I went to take some Tylenol. Now the pills are too big for me to take, so I cut them in half. I put one half in my mouth and a bit of water to swallow it down, when all of the sudden I hurt. Right about where my band is. And then it felt like I was gonna throw up. I tried swallowing more water, but I could tell it wasn't going through the band and filling up my esophagus instead. And it was so uncomfortable. Then I was really worried. What if the band slipped. If that was the case, I would have to have another surgery. But I was just overly worried. I called my doc, and they think that the Tylenol was too big and got stuck. It then irritated the band and it swelled almost shut. So they ordered me back to a clear liquid diet for 2 to 3 days. I do notice that if I drink warm/hot liquids they go down just fine. So I have stopped worrying and just letting the healing process take place. Tomorrow I get to go back to full liquids, and I'm so excited to be back to flavor. Some tasty soup sound so good. By the way, I've lost 10 pounds already!

Punishment

Yesterday I got home from my trip. I was so happy to see the kids again. All the kids hugged and kissed me, all the kids, except for Gavin. He wouldn't even look at me. When I'd approach him, he'd run and cry. This lasted for a good 2 hours. I figured he would be mad at me, but to hold the grudge for so long made me sad. Finally I forced him to sit on my lap while he screamed and I gave him a bottle to calm down. He eventually fell asleep, and I just held and held him. When he woke from his nap, we were friends again. Stubborn baby.

Heading Home
Today is our last day in Mexico. Every time I think about it, it makes me laugh. I mean. I'm in Mexico getting weight loss surgery. That is pretty crazy. Almost surreal. But things have gone well here. You definitely get what you pay for.
The hospital where we had the surgery was nice. Very clean and we were taken well care of. The nurses were funny with the language barrier. Some could speak a little and figure out what was needed, while others would just nod their heads and smile. You knew that had no clue what you wanted. I was hoping that having a husband with me speaking spanish would help. But he was a real disappointment. He seems to forgot every basic word in spanish. Words like pillow, and blanket and medicine. I was amazed at how much spanish he has lost. He can understand them really well, but he can't speak it like he used to.
After the hospital, they took us to this hotel. This hotel makes me laugh. It has the apperence of being nice, but it is pretty much a motel 6. The beds are incredibly hard that I slept like crap the first night. But I called the doc in the morning and got some sleeping pills. Oh how I love sleeping pills.
We've met a great couple from Seattle who we've really enjoyed. She had the surgery the same time as me and he husband is a car guy. Perfect.
The 4 days of clear liquids are blah. I'm not a big jello fan and I've had enough jello to last my life. I thnk it is funny how I get excited for the chicken broth. But after sweet jello, and apple juice and popsicles, you want something savory. And the chicken broth is more filling. Today I get to start on FULL liquids. That means anything that I can suck up with a straw without using a straw. I guess straws are no nos. The get too much air in the food, and with the amount of gas our bodies are dealing with, I can't imagine adding more air. But I'm excited for some more flavor today.
This has been an adventure. One that I would do again and reccomend to others. Andrew and I have really enjoyed the time we've had away from the real life. My recovery is going well. I am sore. Some days very sore, but I can still get up and walk around. Today I feel the best yet, which is good cause yesterday was the worst day. The dreaded day 3. I slept well last night and am sure I'm fine for our long car ride home. We will get home on Saturday night, hopefully. After that I'll try to update the blog on my journey. See you in a few days.
