Our Miracle

I miss my brother every day of my life and every minute of every day, so much that it is physically painful. That being said, I know that this would never have been able to happen had he not passed on. It is truly a miracle that this took place. Both of these girls were sealed to my parents today. I know he played a part in that. We also were able to do his temple work today. Awesome.

Tess

Jonathon surprised us this summer with this cute little (not so much anymore) Britney Spaniel. She is full of personality and we've all fallen in love with her. He refused to let us keep her in the house, apparently we would ruin her for hunting.

I walked into the garage this morning and found this.

I couldn't quit laughing. I think he might be regretting his decision!

9 months old today and crawling!

Friday, September 25, 2009

Bridger's baseball team is trying to earn money for their trip to Cooperstown, NY next summer. They are selling Fall Decorations for your yard. It is a bale of straw, a bundle of cornstalks and two pumpkins for $20. If anyone is interested just leave a comment and let me know. They will deliver to your home and if you want them to, pick it up in November when you're done with it!

Spirit Lake 2009

This is my all time favorite tradition. It is a Halley family tradition for almost 60 years (thanks Grandma and Grandpa!). It feels like coming home each year we arrive. I am so thankful for this beautiful place and my beautiful family. We missed everyone who couldn't be there this year...especially Jason.

Brooks

Bridger wanted to go to the Bee's game on his birthday. While we were there he took these pictures of Brooks. It's hard to believe he's more than 6 months now. It's weird, this last 8+ months have both sped by and been too long.

Fundraiser

Bridger's baseball team is having a huge yard and BAKE SALE on Saturday, August 1st from 7-12. They are trying to raise money for their trip to Cooperstown, New York next summer. So if you are in the area stop in! We will have lots of yummy treats and my mom is baking her famous homemade bread! It's at the Christensen's--315 West Salem Highway in Salem.

Itchy

Dear Mr. Stewart (we now fondly refer to you as "Itchy"),

It has come to my understanding that you have an issue. I'm not sure what the exact problem is, and I'm not sure you are even aware of your problem. There are, after all, thousands of fans watching you every day and that has not deterred you.
I Googled your salary info and it is reported as $404,000 for 2009. Now I know this is meager for MLB standards, but I'm sure it'll buy you some cream, or perhaps a better fitting cup.

We were impressed with the 3 homeruns you hit in the 2 games we attended, but honey, I don't think this is your magic genie.

Try to remember that there are impressionable children at the ballpark. Cute little girls with pink mitts shouldn't have to watch this.

Once we became aware of your situation we were curious. So we counted. In one SHORT, I'm talking 3 up, 3 down inning......39 TIMES!!

Surely your mother has mentioned this to you. It's not even just itching. There was definite cupage. And rubbing. Ew.
In closing, I'd just like to say that I'm thankful I don't have to do your laundry. And please, get that looked at. Your self examination is just not cutting it.

14 Years Old. Seriously.

I am so thankful for this girl. She is so good, and not at all a difficult teenager. (Although I still panic when she leaves the house!). It's hard to believe she's 14. She had a great day--Swedish Hotcakes at Grandma's, lunch with friends, a movie with mom and the Grandma's, then she spent the rest of the night at the ballpark with us. We surprised her the next night with a party with all of her friends (and she was surprised!). It was a lot of fun and I was impressed with most of the kids there. We love you Halley!

She wanted a Mickey & Minnie cake. She pretty much knew what she wanted and designed it, we worked on it together and she was happy with it.

Major League

I decided to take Bridger to a couple Rockies games. His favorite player is playing for the Astros now, and lucky for us, they play in the National League. We'll just say the boy was in Heaven. (This picture was when the Astros were killing the Rockies and it was cold, most of the fans left.)

Bridger and my aunt Nila. She lives in Denver and was able to get us the most amazing seats!

On the first night we sat on the first base line by the Rockies dugout. So here's Bridger decked out in Rockies attire.

The second night we were on the third base side by the Astros dugout. Although his favorite team isn't the Astros, the boy loves Pudge Rodriguez. So he decided to wear all his Pudge attire. Really, everyone probably thought he was the most confused baseball fan--unless they follow Pudge, then the Detroit shirt, Yankee shoes and Astros hat all made sense!

Todd Helton is a stud! The players have their choice to go over to the fans before the game starts and sign autographs. Most of the older players are jaded (Pudge included). Both nights we were there Todd Helton interacted and signed autographs. He even had his own Sharpie so I'm assuming he does it every night. I'll tell you, he made my 11 year olds day! Bridge got his autograph, Kaz Matsui gave him a ball and he caught a ball.

Realization

I have come to realize that the reason God created menopause is because I would still be having babies well into my nineties.

My Mom

Isn't she lovely? Ha! She's going to kill me.

I didn't have time to post yesterday, but I couldn't let Mother's Day go by without a post about you. You are amazing. You have endured more than any mother should have to, but you do endure for the rest of us. You are such an example of perseverance and making the best of the trials that are placed in our lives. Those 2 girls you are raising are so blessed to have you and Dad. I am so thankful my children have you as a grandma! They adore you and love to be around you. Thank you for being my mom, I wouldn't be the person I am today without your love and influence in my life.

We love you!!

Brooks' Blessing

I don't know why our stake was the only stake in the world to have Fast Sunday on Easter, but it made for a crazy weekend to have a baby blessing. Throw in a 3 day baseball tournament and 3 day end of year dance concert and I was pretty insane. The Easter bunny always comes on Saturday morning, so that made things a little easier for Sunday. I'm so thankful for everyone who came. Kyle and Laura came from Wellington, Grandma and Grandpa from Heber. It meant alot. It was a bittersweet day (will all happy occasions be bittersweet from now on?) and I was thankful to be surrounded by those I love.

Grandma & Grandpa Halley

Happy cousins! And no, Halley does not wear glasses, she's just a dork.

My favorite guys.

I know, I'm partial, but isn't he so cute?
