Ephraim's room

I have been working on Ephraim's room for a while now and am calling it "done" for now. Ephraim is a fan of all things built and and how they go together, hence the gears. He also wanted a robot room, but I was concerned it might be to young and need redone in a couple of years so this is what we ended up with: gears and a couple of robot paintings.

After pricing decals I decided to make my own, and after much X-acto kniving I am pretty happy with how they turned out.
Ephraim has drawn some robots which I painted for him, and smoothed out some lines. It has been fun working together on a project. " No Mama, those are not rockets they are missiles."

These will hang on either side of the windows.
(one we did a year ago)
Thanks for checking it out :)

Easter morn

We had one of those perfect weekends where the weather was great. Friday night we decorated eggs with friends. Saturday morning Ryan stained wood for the exterior like crazy, I worked inside on easter food. The kids made projects.

In the afternoon we attended a neighborhood easter egg hunt that was so fun and great to get to know our neighbors a bit more. On the way home from the egg hunt, Salome rode her training wheel bike. We soon discovered she has yet to master the braking part and while we thought she was going to stop and wait with her brother she started to roll straight down. Amazingly, while her mother was yelling at her father to run faster and stop, she managed to steer into the curb and land in soft grass. Phew.

And in the evening we had pizza and a movie. Simple fun, so good.

Sunday was church, naps in the sunshine, and cooking for dinner. We had a good time at my parents. One could even say it was calm, a rare comment for time with my family.

It was just one of those weekends where everything felt right and made me feel pretty thankful for such a life.
