How in the world does he find these things?

In the past two weeks Max has found three helpless animals. I don't think I ever once found an aminal when I was a kid. It makes me wonder....how in the world does he find these things? He found a turtle and named him "Armor". He fed him and cleaned up his scratch that was bleeding, loved him for a little while and then let him go.

This is obviously a baby bird. I would guess only a few days old. It was ugly as can be.... There was a bad storm and the nest fell out of a tree and the other baby birds died and this was was trying to hop around. Of course Max swooped him up and brought him home. He got one of Oliver's medicine droppers and put water in it and gave him some. He tried to feed him bread too but I'm not sure that worked very well. After a day Marc made him put the bird under a bush to keep him safe and see if the momma bird would find him. We told Max she did since the bird isn't there anymore.

This is hte sadest story. We went for a walk on Saturday evening and Max was commenting on all the dead squirrls on the side of the road. Just then we saw this bunny lying on the ground and it tried to lift up its head twice. Max swooped it up, tucked it in his shirt and we headed for home. We think she might have gotten run over a little. Her head was bloody and her side as well as her back side. She was pretty lifeless but yet still alive. He wiped her down and swaddled her in a blanket and snuggled her on his bed. We put her in Honey Butter's cage for the night. I thought for sure she wouldn't make it. Max prayed so hard that she would live and was so happy the next day when she found that she was. She needed some real help so we called the Wildlife Rescue Center and brought her in. Max was so sad to see her go. We told him that he helped save her life.

I sure do have a sweet sensitive boy on my hands. I'm amazed at the things he can do.

Owner, CEO, President, Founder...

Those are many of my titles now although you won't find any of those on my business cards. I really think my title should be. Debtor to a lot of money. What do you think? Catchy eh?

If you didn't know already I'm opening up my own business at the end of August (pause for surprise, screams and the thoughts that I know you all have.."is she out of her mind?"). Okay, now that we're all good let me tell you about my wonderful business.

I am opening a fabric shop. An ecletic, modern, inspiring, inviting fabric shop in Old Webster Groves. I have so many ideas and plans. Too many too write but if you would like to keep up please visit my business blog at www.fabricnosherie.blogspot.com.

I'm also in the middle of getting my web site built so you will also be able to visit that when the time comes.

Otherwise things are good. The boys are done with school. Thats a happy and sad thing for me. I've got two baby showers and one farewell party to plan all in the month of June. Let alone starting my build out on my space. It will be a crazy summer that I know will go by way too fast. So much for any vacations. I'm excited though about the possibilities and dreams of my shop. I hope many of you will stop by when its open...and that includes all of you Idahoan friends too!

True Story

Its interesting, when people say "what are the odds", they normally aren't the odds for us. If you say its highly unlike or rare, it happens to this family.

Bennett was playing at a friends home outside - you know, doing his thing, that thing that boys do (whatever that is) and he saw a bird house. He peeked in with his eye and out came a bird, peeked his eye and flew away.

Of course I didn't believe this story. I did see that his eye was red and goopy. Not until the next day did I see this (above picture). Owe! Poor kid. He has a bruised eye. Who gets a bruised eye for a bird peeking your eye? Bennett does.

True Story.
