Zoos are Cool
Hudson & Mom at Oakland Zoo

We LOVE cows!
In the past week, or so, we have been to TWO zoos... yes there is a bit of a fetish with the youngest of the Brinton family. He, name withheld, is a bit obsessed with animals. Or is a good faker. So we first went to the Oakland Zoo, where there were some questionably ugly characters roaming around the gated areas. And Hudson felt like if he could just "reach" a bit more then usual he would be able to touch and grab each animal... didn't quite worked. But that didn't dampen his spirits.
Then we went to the Happy Hallow Petting Zoo... which had only about three animals to pet. Namely farm animals; that is: cow, mini horses and goats (which were a bit aggressive). Hudson really didn't care; at least he got to touch some of them. He loved every min. of the nasty dirty animals. Needless to say I was all about washing hands after this event... and burning clothes. Only teasing.
The best part of the happy hallow day, I think, was watching Hudson ride in the little fire engine truck. It was a carnival ride, I assume, that took the little cars around in a circle. I was a bit scared buckling Hudson into the car and walking out of the little arena... but he did just fine. He was riding all by himself with all the other 18mth-3yr. olds. He was laughing, and thought it was the real deal - his own car. So dang cute!! He did however throw a tantrum when I got him out after his third ride. But his temper was suppressed by the looks of a "ladybug" ride not to far away. Needless to say I buckled him in this ride, which was a rope - don't worry it was tight. And let him have at it. It was so funny. The ride started and Hudson tried with all his might to keep his head straight and not tilted back from the force. I didn't think it was going to be faster then the ride before... I did pull him off this one before it took off again. It was a bit too fast.
So the conclusion is that Zoos are cool... and so much fun to go with little ones.
