If you are not aware - let it be known. I am married to a man with many, many talents. One of which that he has developed a deep love for is woodworking. I think we might have 75%+ of all the tools known to man in our garage. Try and imagine a one car (condo) garage full of tools. I must admit I can still park a car in my garage and Spencer is very organized in his stashing of tools... but if you ever need a tool to borrow... come on down.
Spencer's first woodworking project was a coffee table for us when we first got married, sadly enough I can't find a picture of it. So in a nut shell, we were living in MI (right before we were married) and every night in the garage that was not connected to his condo, he would continue his project of building us a coffee table. If any of you have ever been to MI in the winter, it is not pleasant. It is not the pretty snowy winter, but harsh brittle cold. So anyway he made it and completed it for my Christmas present. I had no idea how hard he worked on it. It was good to us, but got damaged on the move out to CA, and so it is gone.
But I thought I would share a few pictures of what he has done. He has made a chest/coffee table for some friends (dove-tail mind you), built many tables for his tools. Built shelves in the garage, made me the most beautiful easel to paint on. It is made of African Mahogany and hasn't been used. Mainly because I am so afraid to paint on it, it is too pretty to get paint on. I love to just set it up and look at it. The most recent of the projects are three book shelfs for Hudson's room. I was looking in the "Land of Nod" catalog and pointed out these CUTE shelfs for books; a few days later I walked outside and Spencer had them done and even better then what I could have thought up. We then painted them Yellow, Green and Blue. They are to die for cute.
Anyway - I am so happy I married a man with hobbies and so much talent. He amazes me every day. Pictures below
