Happy Fourth

If you were wondering... {probably not}

But just in case...

We will be here for the next little bit. Enjoying the red rocks and turquoise water.

Hope you all have a sparklin' Fourth!

{This country is beautiful. I am easily astounded by it's beauty;
aren't we one lucky - americans- group of people??!}

bikini and pirates

This is today...

  • A little bikini wearing {all day} - as demanded by one "R".  It didn't matter that we really weren't outside {yet}.
  • Hudson wearing his pirate costume, for most of the day, while playing legos and cars.
  • H & R watching Tom & Jerry in my unmade bed...
  • Eating cereal for lunch.
  • Trying to tell myself that I am making a dent in this un-packing business.  Which to the untrained eye would seem like I haven't touched a thing.  A little discouraging in that department.  But at least we have bed and Tom & Jerry.

Life at the Lake

Went to the Brown's Lake house this last memorial weekend... it was hot and wonderful.  The kids had a blast... except R doesn't like the boat so much.  Not a fan... but she did love her some popsicles.  She could have sat there all day eating.  Eating comes in first for this one... Hudson would swim all day... eating not so much lately.  Picky picky picky.

Enjoy the pictures.

She took over Hudson's popsicle as well.
Look at her curled toes above... LOVE IT!

Happiness.

People tell me that H looks just like me.  {Whitney}  I agree.

Well hello...
Your welcome Bek and Sarah.  {wink wink}

By the way our internet is off tomorrow for almost two weeks.  {that was on purpose.}  And we aren't turning the T.V. on for the summer... I think it will be refreshing.  But believe me, once football {college} starts U-Verse is back baby.  I will admit that I am honestly really really sad about missing the world cup.  I LOVE watching the world cup.  They amaze me with how fit they all are... I LOVE IT.  Did I say that already?!

See you soon.

**Also, just had our new place painted {all the inside}... it is beautiful!  {There were some mishaps... like a MINT green bathroom... which was quickly changed.  The painters loved me for that one.  Oh well.} We are ecstatic and a little giddy here.  Spencer's hands are sweaty with anticipation of all the wood working projects he has in his mind.  I thought he was high tonight... but don't worry - he is just thrilled to get into the new place tomorrow.  So cute.

Shalice & Trevor = marriage

Almost a month ago I went to my cousin's wedding, Shalice.  Whom is fabulous.  She married Trevor whom {from what I saw and heard} is fabulous as well.  Match made in heaven, as they say.

It was a quick trip - but I had a cute date:
I love that he {my dad} is actually smiling enough to show his teeth.  He never shows his teeth... and he has good teeth.  It is a mystery.

Anyway wedding.  I was solo.  Sans kids and hubby.  It was strange to think of things to fill my time with, but don't fret... the time was filled.  But by the end I was dying to get home to my little family.  As Spencer says, "Whitney, you are a wuss."  True, I am.  But I think it is a good thing.

So here are some pictures from the day - I didn't want to get too close to the photographer... I so did not want to be that guest.  {you know the one where all thier photographs are much more important; and the one who is on the photographer's heels at all moments.  That guest.}  I dislike those guests... so I pulled the camera out just for a bit.

Look at these flowers.  I mean right?  You know it was a beautiful wedding just by the flowers.  They almost seemed like they were dripping with beauty.

See look at those flowers {below}...  {by the way this is Shalice and Trevor.  Do you think they look happy?  Jury is still out on this one.  :) }
Now, look at her dress.  It was stunning.  I loved every part of it.  I guess it was an antique and she added a few things to it.  Whatever she did it honestly was breathtaking.

Dude to the right would not get out of my way... thus this is what I have.  A picture with a sleeve, nice.

Below is Dawson, my cousin Courtney's son, he is cute; very surfer - So. Cal looking cute.
Then there are these sisters.  These sisters I LOVE.  This is Rebekah {on the left}, or as Reagan calls her "bekkah"... and the one the right is Sarah.  Lovely. Lovely.  They make me laugh.  They can make me giggle and say unruly things... don't worry always good unruly things.  I love them.
Rebekah and I went to college together, it was a surreal time in life.  She makes some really good persian rice.  Really good rice.
And then I flew home... it was a fast, fun and needed weekend.   Plus I got a little one and one time with my sister Paige, whom is no where to be seen in my pictures this day.  I have no clue as to why?  Because any sane person would want LOADS of pictures of Paige.  She is smokin'.  Beside her looks... I love her.  And I am so happy I got a few days to just be with her and my dad.  I really really loved just being with her; it makes me realize how much I miss her.

When I got home and smothered my family, it was noted that they didn't miss me as much.  I mean, they had a star of a father who did win father of the year while I was gone.  Sometimes I don't like to leave because when I get home I realize how Spencer can show me up in all "motherly" areas.  He is seriously amazing.

Another Marriage... in Spencer's words

This is what has kept us busy for the past month... signing, signing then signing our lives away one more time... sooooo we are finally "closing" tomorrow.  Fingers crossed.

We are so ecstatic!   We have a lot of plans for this little beaut... starting with a major painting overhaul in the next week, plus carpet and what have you.

When we found out we got the house, Spencer looked at me and said "Don't worry I already have the whole outside, 'curb appeal' figured out!"   I just laughed; but I will say that he is one talented and visionary man... can't wait to see what his imagination has in store for this house of ours.   I think I have an idea... nothing Huge... but little things here and there.

When we get the keys and start pounding out some projects I will post those pictures... until then wish us happy painting and hope my body keeps up.

Thanks to those fabulous grandparents for keeping eye
and pouring out love on our little ones...
it will help more than you realize...
although I am not one who loves to be away
from them for long periods of time.
That is very true.

Family Pictures... taken FAST

We were about to walk out to our last wedding of the weekend... and had Rachael, my sister, take some picture... really really fast. I wanted something to blow up... and frame. I think they turned out really cute. And not really formal. I love them. Thank you rach.

A grandma's house we go...

The first "trip" of the summer arrived.
The kids and I drove down {they were fantastic! I was amazed. I was preparing for a wailing from R to get out of the carseat. But... she was all about Mini mouse on the t.v. It was lovely.} to my parent's home. Spencer flew down the following day... to be my date to two weddings. And what a cute date he is.

Yesterday we went swimming and played all afternoon. The kids had a great night, the night before, spending time with their cousins Simon and Addi... it was a fun filled night thanks to Aunt Emily and Uncle Kurt. They pulled out all the stops.

It is a good start to summer.

Let me just say that this girl LOVES to eat. She is up for it at any hour of the day. Although her sweet sweet tooth is already at full throttle. She is wanting cookies and candy all day. Wakes up from naps and the first thing on her lips is "ice-ceem peeease". She is funny.

If you look in the background you see H jumping from the diving board. The kid needs to be in swimming. He is a fish.

I have to admit. I love summer. I love not having a schedule. I love not hurrying out the door... I love doing what I want when I want. And I love that my kids can do what they want and not have school. I know I might want to re-think this midway through summer, but really I am not sure. I really do love having my kids home, doing whatever.

Cheers to SUMMER!
