Two families

I was able to take some pictures for two families a couple weeks ago...
the unreal thing about these two families - are their eyes {all of them}.

The Garff Family
4 boys + 1 Girl

My favorite of this family were the candid shots.
Or the goofy ones were pretty darn cute too.  Their personalities were hilarious.

These three are triplets.
There is an obvious bond between the three if them.

The Aplanalp Family
Honestly - they are fabulous.  Not much more needs to be said.

 Eyes, look that those eyes.
Hudson has a semi crush on this one.  He always asks to go to her house?!? But really I do not blame him... look at her!
When he saw this picture he said, "Taylor looks hot".  I didn't even knew he knew what "hot" meant.
Not sure how I feel about "hot" out of a 6 year old mouth.  sigh.

 The end.

I am the yummiest

This is Grey:

The most perfect little being alive.  He will get into your soul and stay... he looks as he is, completely peaceful and full of life.  He can turn a dull day into joyful.  Lighting up a room is as easy as pie for him, it is rare and pure talent.  I tell ya, I do not know what we did to get this little one... but I would do it again and again.  Not a day passes that I do not thank my Father in Heaven for him.  Not a day.

This is his new trick.  He will sit straight up then slowly bend over sideways?  Not sure why but he likes it.
Yes, it is true - he is pant-less most days.  But really?  If I had the choice I probably wouldn't want to wear pants either.  They just get all tangled when you sleep, they creep up or down.  They are tight around your tummy.  If everyone was honest then no one would disagree that being pant-less would be dreamy.  That is if we could care less what we looked like... then it would be dreamy.

Then this is Reagan with him.
She does the hover smother, then hits him with hard kisses... so this is what he does back:

Funny stuff.

Reagan isn't the only one who probably smothers him.  I will admit it.

Carmel

This past weekend we were able to ride the coattails of some of our most favorite people in the world... the Crocketts & the Richards.   We went with them to hang out in Carmel at their family's place.  It was beyond beautiful... not an inch of fog in the sky.  75-80 degrees.
It is decided that October is the time to go to Carmel.

Here are some shots of the outside area...
In the morning I would get up and walk, run or take pictures and think to myself "we really need a place like this"... but then again who doesn't need "a place like this"??
{all images are taken from my phone with Histagram}

On my morning walk/run... came across a couple of deer... they let me get pretty close.  My armpits got a little sweaty as I crept closer and closer... this is as close as I could get without getting a little nervous.

 Pacific Grove Beach
Spencer was the only smart one and brought a bathing suit!?  What was I thinking?  I guess I wasn't prepared for the 78 degree weather... my poor kids stuck in their winter clothes.  Oh well.
I just got Babe Grey naked... He was in heaven.  He wasn't too sure of the cold water and would really tense up whenever his toes touched it.  I kinda am obsessed with this picture.  I adore everything about it.  I love his big, perfectly round head.  I love the sparse hair - which keeps him looking like a baby even longer.  I love his little curled toes and his white little body.  I LOVE his hand in mine.  Always... He never tires of trying to hold on to me.  Especially when falling asleep his little {gorilla grip} hands will search out my arm, face, hair or anything of mine.  Then he will drift off to sleep, as long as he can touch me.  And my toes are painted... lately that is rare.

As we were driving down the freeway I sat there thinking how happy I was in that moment.  How happy to be with my little family.  To have Spencer.  To have the health of my children.  To have the knowledge of the Gospel, and the peace that only truth can bring.   The feeling of safety in our lives.  To be able to give my children a home; not so much the house as it is the feeling of home.  The ability to be together and enjoy the time together.  Sure there are rough spots... but it is what it is... and all I can do is do my best.  And in this moment I got it.  I understood where my home was.  It was in the love between Spencer and myself that eventually blossomed into our beautiful family.  One I would do anything, anything for.

Meeeeeechigan

{Remember to email me or leave your email... we are going "dark" [private] on the 5th}

When ever I think of the word Michigan one of the top things that comes to mind is one of my friends, Carly, saying MEEEEchigan.  Never Michigan, always MEEEEchigan - in my head.

Spencer and I went back to Michigan to see a game the 1st of October.  Sans kiddos.  My mom came up and watched the kids while we went frolicking in Ann Arbor.  We were able to visit with Spencer's sister; and Spencer's parents even flew in.  It was so much fun to go and just be together where our marriage started.  I had not been back for 5 years.  I loved eating at all our favorite restaurants and just being in Ann Arbor.  I will admit that I really started missing Mr. Grey.  The other two I missed, but not like my little man Grey.  Is that bad.  Maybe it because he just delights in me and I in him.

Spencer and I right outside of the treasure mart in A2 {Ann Arbor}, where I was up to my neck in milk glass.  I couldn't decide which pieces to get, so I kinda just bought most of it... Spencer just rolls his eyes.  I like to think in a very supportive way.  Then we headed over to Zingermans and gorged ourselves silly with sandwiches and yummy treats.  I tell you that when on vacation I eat like crap, good crap that is.  To the point of not being able to eat two days after getting home because I am sooooo full.

We went to Dexter's cider mill and once again enjoyed the good food of the earth & fryer - cider & Doughnuts.

After which we went to the Arboretum. Walked a little and Spencer and I both sat there confused at why we never went there when we lived in A2.  What were we thinking?  It was chalk full of beautiful things, just a different beauty than in the west.  Forest/Trees and such.
I guess A2 has these day camps for children and one of which is making homes for the animals... see below.  It was so cute.  Hudson would LOVE that.

It was a good trip.  To visit where Spencer and I were thick in love... {not that we are not now... but ya know - I suppose I should say where we were starting out}, a nibble of some of our favorite foods... and to be with family.  Not to mention just being with Spencer.  It was a little trip well needed.

To top it off Michigan won!  Go blue.
