My Grown up, 7 year old!!

I can't believe Kenzie is really 7! I am almost crying just thinking about it! 7 years ago, we were blessed with the most amazing little girl in the world, on this very day!!! She was born on April 11th, but her Birth Mom wanted a few days with her before giving us the most beautiful little gift with the cutest little button nose I had ever seen! We actually had driven up to Salt lake a couple of days before, and then got the news that she was going to keep her for an extra day or two! I was TERRIFIED! I prayed harder than I had in a long time, that our little girl would spend the entire time she had with her Birth Mom, screaming! Selfish, I know, but I didn't want there to be any risk of her changing her mind. Well, she didn't scream the whole time, she was a perfect angel! I am so in awe of that amazing teenager that could give us such a beautiful little girl, knowing that she didn't have what it would take to raise her. Kenzie, when you get older, I hope you know how much and how long we prayed for the day when we would hold you in our arms, and be a family for eternity! I am so fortunate to be your mother, and so amazed by your spirit and spunky personality! You complete our family and we cannot imagine our home without you in it!

Here are some pictures from her birthday party on Friday! I am not sure what I was thinking when I handed out invitations to her entire class, but she loved it and had a great time! You know it was good, when your daughter asks if she can have another party just like that one tomorrow! The answer, of course, was NO!, but you can't blame a girl for asking!

My favorite things about Kenzie:

She can entertain herself like no other person I have ever know! She has the greatest imagination, and I think she would probably prefer playing alone because she likes to control the conversation between her Polly's and Barbies!

She is one of the kindest hearted little kids I know. She came home from school last week, telling me that one of her friends told her to tell another one of her friends that they only wanted to play with 3 people, so she couldn't play. Kenzie said she told that friend, that that would be rude and she didn't want to leave anybody out! I was so proud!

She is becoming an excellent reader! She loves Junie B. books, and I really enjoy snuggling in bed with her at night reading her a chapter or two and having her ask,"Can't we read just one more?"

She loves chocolate! I really think her eyes are getting browner from all of the chocolate she consumes! It does not matter what time it is, the girl will opt for chocolate over anything else, at any time!

Happy Birthday, sweetie! We love you!

My little Golfer!

Do you think his Dad is proud of this one?

Put some long hair on this kid, and he is definitely Karlin!

I cannot say THANK YOU enough to Dion, for these great pictures!!!! These pictures are exactly what I had envisioned when I approached her about taking some pictures. I am very impressed and happy with the results!

Us eating at Ocotillo Golf Course after the boys finished their round of golf

We were lucky enough to get to spend 4 days away from the kids this weekend, thanks in NO small part to my Mom! Thanks Mom for playing me for a weekend, I am glad to know you all survived!!! We left on Friday morning, after some piddling around by my husband! We finally got to the check in gate, just as our plane was LEAVING the gate! Yes, we missed our flight, Tony seems to think that they should wait for him because he is Tony Chambers. Some how he hasn't yet got the life memo that this Earth does not revolve around him! So after some rousing, we took the next flight 45 minutes later! After arriving in Phoenix, we get to the airlines baggage check place, only to find one of our bags missing! After a few hours, it turns up and we end up sending Tony back to the airport for it! So, this is where the drama ends for the trip! The rest of the trip was peaceful and relaxing with nothing dramatic happening again! We had a great time with Tony's friend from high school, Jared and his wife, Kelly! I felt like I had my own personal hairstylist all weekend. We went to the Professionals only beauty stores, and she showed me all the best stuff to buy for whatever hairstyle I was looking for, she colored my hair, she even cut my eyebrows and dusted a little bit of the hair color on them to "soften" them a bit! I kind of felt like a Queen a little bit! They even let us borrow one of their cars on Sunday, to go and visit Tony's Mom in Mesa. We took her to see a small mining town, and Superstition mountain. I was more impressed with all of the cactus'. Tony thought I was weird. We drove around all day long looking for a cactus like the ones you used to see on the Roadrunner cartoons. The ones with the 2 arms perfectly placed and pointing up in the air. I never say a perfect one, but I saw plenty of crazy ones with upwords of 20 arms. Did any of you know, that a cactus with more than 6 arms in more than 200 years old? I didn't! Okay, maybe Tony's right! I am kind of wierd! We had a great time, and we are so thankful of Kelly and Jared being such great hosts and letting us invade their lives for a few days-we had a great time! I was so happy to get back to my life, though. It only takes a few days to realize that you miss seeing your kids go off to school each morning, and wanting to have them ask you 20 questions! I missed them tremedously, and realized on this trip, that I love my life!

Bag tag

Disclaimer: I realize I have a lot of stuff in my purse, but we did just get back from Phoenix yesterday, so cut me a break! I was just happy there wasn't a shoe or two in there, because more days than not, there is a shoe in every bag I own!
