one heart down, one to go

Riley and I both had check-ups yesterday at our cardiologists. I got some not-so good news, but Riley got the "all clear". Riley had a hole in one of his chambers that would allow blood to pump back through when his body was under stress, but after his ultrasound they discovered that it had finally closed. Yippee!

I have my echo next Wednesday, I begged to get off house arrest yesterday, but he told me it was WAY to early for that. He asked what I was doing for exercise and I told him I was lifting one hand from my plate to my mouth, repeated several times. He just laughed. He said I could walk to the mailbox, from the parking lot to the Dr. office or grocery store, I asked him to stop there, I was getting WAY to excited. WHATEVER!

So we will know more next Wednesday or the day after.

We haven't heard anything about Medical schools yet, but we are still holding on the the faith and peace that we felt knowing everything will work out.

"Fair" vs. "Unfair"

In our house I posted a sign a few weeks ago that says, "life is not fair" it was to remind me that just because everyone else can get up and out of the house whenever doesn't mean I am entitled to the same. I was just venting my frustrations on paper. Lately when Riley has something that Keagan wants I tell her, "what does the sign say" and she reads it back to me, pouting the whole time. So yesterday she made a new sign "life is fair". I couldn't stop laughing when she read it to me. What a smart little girl.

This is my sign, the original.

"life is fer" (she spells like her mother, bless her heart)

Prayers Needed & update

David submitted his full second application to A.T. Still University Medical School and we need all the prayers we can get. We feel at peace at the fact that is where we should be, but we have not heard anything from the school... so this Sunday we are fasting for the cause, and help in that area, even a prayer would help.

Thank you to those who have already been praying in our behalf for this reason or for my heart. Here is an update on the Heart situation:

Last week I am sure I did too much and I was having a lot of chest pain, so I called my Dr. and he told me to go get my blood pressure checked, so I did. It was perfect 114/62. He then told me to skip my ACE-I and Beta blocker and I have an appt on Monday again where they will also do an echo. (hopefully) He said he would try to squeeze me in.

Yesterday I felt normal. It was wonderful, I had so much energy I managed to burn the tamales, make cookies and make an appearance at our ward party, where I spilled salsa everywhere.

I am hoping that 3 1/2 months will be the magic time instead of 6 months, but who knows. I am just hoping for a change for the better.

Love you and all thanks for the prayers!

more sewing projects

You can probably tell what I am filling my time with. Sewing is about the only thing I can do without raising my heart rate or blood pressure (well that is until I sew my finger....OUCH!)

This is Maddy in the skirt I made her over Spring Break. So cute!

This is a new skirt I made for Maddy, I made one for Keagan too!

I stitched flowers on the bottom of the skirt. Yummy!

This is a Onesie dress that I made today, it fit, but I am going to need to make adjustments for the next one.

Here is another one I made, unfortunately it couldn't even fit over Maddy's head, yikes! Back to the drawing board.

SpRiNg BrEaK!!!

This last week was Spring break for both Keagan and David. It was such a nice change to have both of them home. One thing I did this week was make hair bows for my little darlings, and when my mom was here she helped me make matching skirts for the girls.

Here are the bows:

Here are the skirts:

They both wore them this week, but I forgot to take a picture, I will soon!

Our little flower patch

My very fashion forward Aunt told me she loved the flowers, and since she always looks fabulous I decided to go for it. So here are the pictures from church.

SO Maddy doesn't look 100% happy, but I promise it's NOT the huge flower on her head.

David says Maddy can't hold her head up because the flower weighs too much! WHATEVER!

Too big?

I made these flower clips for baby Maddy, are they too big? Please let me know, so I don't take my little flower patch to church looking like a weirdo.

Thanks Mom

My Mom left this morning, sad to see her go. I have been so lonely for a friend to visit with and it was nice to have her here. Thanks Mom for helping me with my projects, I know they wore you out. Thanks for helping with the kids, they miss you already, like I do.

Thanks for being my cheerleader with my heart stuff. This change of life is NOT easy, but this week with you helped lift my spirits. Come again... SOON!

Love you!

what my kids do at church

So, one may wonder what happens after you send your sweeties off to primary? We'll I actually have never wondered until this past Sunday. I was walking the halls, getting some Hallway doctrine from the other Mom's walking their babies when the Primary secretary came up to me stating she couldn't find Keagan. What? She's in primary, right? Nope. So a friend of mine tells me she saw Keagan in the bathroom, ok, again, what? She already went before church.

I go into the bathroom and what do I find? Keagan. Cleaning. WHAT? Yup, that's right, cleaning. Wipeing down the counters and sink. Cleaning the mirror, she then saw me and says, "hi mom, I am just getting the bathroom ready for the next ward!"

Silly Keagan. We love you!

quick update

It's been a few days, and I promise a longer blog later, but here is a quick run down of the happenings this last week.

David got his MCAT scores. Thumbs up!
Maddy got her two months shots. Cranky!
Keagan got a cold. Typical.
Riley had a play date or two. Thank goodness
Mom wanted a nap. Too bad.
Snowed for exactly 3 minutes, and NONE of it stuck, FABULOUS!

Hope everyone's week was as pleasant as mine.

I take her to school on Tuesdays because David has school at 7:30. Anyhoo.. here are the toes. and fingers!

a quick rant

I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE TELL ME, "well at least you have 3 kids" IT DOESN'T HELP! I know I have 3 kids, thank you very much, I had to loose a lot more than that to get them here, so don't comfort me by saying "at least you have 3" AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok thanks. I'm done.

pretty in polkadots

With Daddy and the kids gone all weekend (That's right, GONE! The house has never been quieter!) me and my little girl had a nice, peaceful, and uneventful weekend! I dressed her in polka-dots every day.
