work to do

I haven't sewn in a while, I would say almost a year, but this week I was feeling the need to get back to my "crafty" side. I called up some old clients and I was surprised how happy they were to hear from me. One store bough 32 onesie outfits with matching bows, and the other bought 15. What a blessing this has been for my family. I do, really enjoy 'creating' and I even hope to open my etsy shop soon!

Splash pad

They have the funnest things down here in the Summer, they are called "splash pads" they are random parks that have a foam floor and lots of water fountains and places for kids to climb. We went to the splash pad in Peoria yesterday and the kids LOVED IT! I think we will be frequenting these often, being that it is already SUPER hot here.

Runnin'

I have been a running/working out fool lately. David and I 5 weeks ago started a program called P90X, we both have seen great changes in our weight and eating habits. I have been thinking how I would have never been able to do this a year ago. My heart feels strong. I love living at zero elevation, and being on some great meds, the combination of both have given my feet a whole new purpose: running.

I have been running anywhere from 3 to 4 miles a day (I know... that is not very far, but it's far for me). I love it. It takes a mile to get the "kinks" out, and then I just feel like I could go, and go and go. I get tired around mile 4, so I am hoping with a little more training I can go further and further. I thought I would give you a sneak peak on what I am grooving to while my feet are getting it done. Hope you enjoy my play list.

If I Die Young (American Idol Performance), Lauren Alaina
Free Me , Joss Stone
Strip Me, Natasha Bedingfield
Gone In the Morning, Newton Faulkner
Undo It , Carrie Underwood
Rolling In the Deep, ADELE
Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It), Beyoncé
Just Can't Get Enough, The Black Eyed Peas
Forget You, Cee Lo Green
Till the World Ends, Britney Spears F
The House That Built Me, Miranda Lambert Revolution
Yoü and I, Lady GaGa
(It) Feels So Good, Steven Tyler
Remember When It Rained , Josh Groban

All these songs can be found on itunes. I love music, even throughout the day we will turn on the 'pod' and clean the house or cook, or just play and dance. I have a goal to run a marathon, a full marathon, it won't be this year, or next, and I can only do it as long as I have the Doc's approval, but I am hoping by the time David becomes a dentist, that he will be there on the sidelines watching me accomplish a goal of my own. :)

Memorial Day

Memorial day was a little different this year, different in a good way. We went to visit the grave site of David's older brother Paul, and both of his grandfathers. It was truly amazing the spirit that we felt when we kneeled down by Paul's grave. Paul died at 16 months, I thought about Sue Ann, losing a son, and being 8 months pregnant with a daughter. I thought about the heartache, and yet the blessing one month later of a little girl. I know that David wishes he would have known Paul, I think sometimes he longs for a brother the way I wanted a sister growing up.

It was neat to have the conversation with the kids about the Plan of Salvation. Keagan went around to all the flowers that were on the ground and carefully placed them on all three headstones. I think this will be a Memorial day that I will never forget.

Keagan's last week of school

This past week was Keagan's last week of school. Everyday they did something fun for the kids. Monday was 'crazy hat day' so all weekend we worked on making her hat the craziest of all.

Riley's Birthday

Riley's birthday was a day loaded with fun and being together as a family. David had a final that day, so he had the whole afternoon to spend with us. First item of business: buying Riley a new bike for his birthday, second item: go feed the ducks!

Turns out there are more than ducks in this pond :)

Love my family!

Riley's request for his Birthday dinner, funny thing is that after we cooked all that fried crap, he changed his mind and just wanted pizza. Little Riley, it's a good thing we love you :)
