The Charons

Every year I blog about the 'bers'. So in true Barb fashion, here we go again! I love the Fall months, well, to be honest, I loved them a little more, when we lived in Flagstaff when you could actually feel and see the changes. But anyways... I still love them. I love the pulling out the pumpkins and the thought of making chili and cornbread, and seeing the leaves change. (Again, I will see NONE of these living in the valley of the sun) So here is my closest attempt at Fall, my decorations. Simple.

Keagan is such a help (We know this!) but this goes above her call of duty! So cute to see these two working together to get the little nerd into bed. #lovemygirls!

This post is a shout-out to my SIL Cami Sue! Cami has a craft business, and everything she sells is ADORABLE! I have been itching for one of those new mint colored Kitchen Aides, but don't really get me started... I also want an ipad, Kindle, Suburban, you get the point. So obviously, since there is not one thing wrong with my 11 year old mixer, it really made no sense to get rid of it. So instead I consulted Cami on a "makeover" :) So now this boring, white mixer is now YOUNG, FUN and BEAUTIFUL! Do I sound like a commercial? So, Dear Cami, THANK YOU! Thank you for making me love my mixer again :) I will be forever grateful. YOU ROCK!

In our ward I was, yes WAS the R.S. Meeting Coordinator, it was a lot of work, I am not gonna lie. The last meeting I put together was a game show. It was awesome. We decided to do a rainbow theme, so I sew'd my little fingers to the bone to make the whole room POP! I loved how it turned out. What do you think?

Since Midwestern is so close we tend to head over there when life is boring at home. Last Saturday we brought the Remote control car(s), bikes, skates, scooters and more. It is the best open space to let the kids run and play.

The other night it was actually nice enough to be outside without sweating to death, no, I am not kidding ;) Anyways, the wind was blowing and David took the kids outside to FINALLY fly their kites. It was so cute watching David throw the kites in the air. What a great Daddy!

David and I were lucky enough this past month to get an invite to a Diamondbacks game from our friends, the Grounds. It was a blast to be so SO SO close to the field. One of the managers threw me a ball, Wheeler threw us some gum, and after the game Wheeler signed our ball. I don't think we can ever be ok with cheap seats again. Needless to say we had a BLAST!

Maddy is known around these parts as being a "future Museum Curator". She loves to line things up, sort things out and just make messes, I mean "art" wherever she goes. :)

Keagan is in 4th grade this year. It is the first year that they are able to run for Student Council, and guess just what our Keagan did? Yep. That's right. In order to be considered you have to fill out a bio sheet on what your qood qualities are, you must have a teacher recommendations and have good grades. She is so excited to be apart of this group! Keagan, we are PROUD of you!!

I had a birthday a couple of weeks ago, no I am not telling you my age and yes, I try to forget that number gets higher every year, sigh. Anyways, A few months ago I walked into Saver's (it's like Goodwill or D.I) and saw a dresser I could not leave without! I called David and the only bit of leverage I could use was that, A. we could use the storage and B. he could call it my birthday present! (Genius, I know!) So here is what I got for my birthday. David did the most AMAZING job of re-finishing the massive piece, and it looks amazing in our home. Before: After:

It's 3:35 in the morning, I have been up for about two hours already, and no sign of going back to bed in the near future. I can't sleep. I CAN'T SLEEP! <---- that is me getting angry. :) I have so much racing through my mind. I am making some changes, I am figuring things out. For the last few hours I have read post after post after post from this blog. It was refreshing, I have forgotten so much about the past, it has been a nice reminder for me, but also hard, let me tell you why. I look back and realize how fast my little ones are growing up. It's so sad to me, I want them to be little forever. I found a post about Riley sneaking into the freezer and stealing Popsicle's, LOVE it! And Keagan loosing her first tooth, what a cutie, and Maddy, getting into the cereal cupboard and dumping Cheerios ALL over the place. I know these all seem like small things, but I really am so happy I blogged about them. So sleepless nights like this one actually have a happy ending. Almost glad I couldn't sleep tonight, so I could re-read our past. And one last thing: I miss Flagstaff like CRAZY! (The weather AND the people!) Ok, going to try to count some z's now :)
