Daddy Daughter Date ~ Disney Princess on Ice
A few weekends ago Greg took Alexa with Brad, Emery & Cisely to see the Disney Princess on Ice Show at the Energy Solutions Arena. The girls got the tickets for Christmas from Aunts Gail, Kathy & Janet.
We decided to let the girls have a special date with dad since that doesn't happen very often. Especially with Gavster who is a daddy hog.
They were lucky enough to get a suite from Gails law office.
Greg said that Alexa loved the princesses but was a little scared of the witches. They must have had a great time because the girls crashed on the way home.
THANKS AUNTIES!!!

All about Poo Poo
I hate when moms talk poop to each other. I do it too and I still hate it.
BUT... I had to share Mr Gav's accomplishment today.
He has a bit of an obsession with people going potty. He'll follow anyone to the bathroom just to check it out. This morning he followed Alexa in. She shouted for me to come in because "Gavin wants to go potty". He was pulling at his pants because he had just gone poop in them. I stripped him down and put him on the potty. He thought this was great.
Later I went to his room to get him from his nap. He immediately said "poo poo" and pointed me into the bathroom. So, I dropped his drawers and put him on the potty. He sat there for less than a minute and then he pooped! YAHOO! I know... he is only 18 months old but Alexa was "poop" trained at about this time so if we could get him to do that job in the potty. I'm ok changing pee for a while! :)

Gavin ~ 18 Months
Today Gaveroo is 18 months old. We take him in for his 18 month check up next week. He is getting so big and has nearly all of his teeth.
He likes to eat bananas, muffins, chocolate milk, chocolate chips, chicken nuggets and chicken noodle soup (Granny's Home Made) and he really likes eggs with ketsup.
He doesn't care about signing like Alexa did at this age but still does some signs. Banana, cat, dog, eat, drink, fish, bird, baby, drink, milk, hat etc.
Gavin loves to be big and tries to do everything that Alexa does. Climbing on everything and trying to get up high just like her. He copies her every move.
He likes to watch shows in the car especially 'Finding Nemo', 'Baby Can Read', 'Bolt', 'Signing Time', 'Monsters Inc', 'Monsters vs Aliens', 'Letter Factory', 'Bee Movie'. At home he likes 'Micky Mouse Club House'.
He loves to give kisses, blow kisses, give hugs, tickle and be tickled, play this little piggy, dance, jump (he doesn't get any air), run, play soccer/kick balls, shoot hoops, jump on the bed, clap, pat-a-cake, head shoulders knees and toes (he just keeps his hands on his toes and says toes), sing ABC's (sounds more like baby repeated over and over), count (TWO, TWO, TWO) and talk a lot.
He finally did start spewing out a lot of words in the past few months. I'm positive that we are the only ones that understand him. Some of our favorites are: Dad, Mom, Alexa, Duck, Quack, Cat, Meow, Dog, Woof, Balloon, Ball, Tree, Bird, Tweet, Baby, Two, Cracker, Copter, Gator, shoe, fish, book, tickle, shhh, shouts DON'T (to Alexa), water, drink etc.
He is starting to fight back with Alexa. He'll get in her face and shout no or don't to her when she isn't being nice. It is SO funny and it really makes her step back because she is used to having all of the power. It is awesome to see him stand his ground. It is also good for a laugh.
He just switched to one nap a day over this past month or two and he is totally attached to his monkey and dino blankets. His favorite spot to play at Granny's house is the pantry which means there is usually a spice or two to clean off the floor when he is done. He also LOVES to hang with the kids and dad's in the basement. Granddad gets the extra twin mattress and angles it up the stairs. The kids jump and slide down it like they are at an amusement park. At Grandma Judy's house he loves to ride one of the guy's backs like a horse and just loves to be around all of the kids and the noise. He also likes when Grandma Judy and Grandpa Fred come over to babysit. Grandma is a bit of a sucker and will take him shopping for toys and they both play with him in the toy room upstairs for hours.
He sure is fun and a great morning time cuddler.

New Moon....
Yes! It's 11pm and I'm headed out the door for the 12:10pm showing! I'm so excited.
My sis-in-law Kellie just got home from a 7pm showing (she is tricky and got in on the show 24 hours early). She said that it is FABULOUS and MUCH better than Twilight. She even switched teams. She is now a Jacob lover! :)
Post Showing: I liked it. I didn't love it but it was fine. MUCH better than the first by far, that is for sure. And Jacob, WOW. He is hot..... for a teenager! :)

{Alexa - 3 1/2 Years Old}
Today my baby is 3 1/2. I can't believe it! She is getting so big, sweet, fun and funny. I love having my girl and getting to be "BFF's" ;). We team up against the boys and have some good cuddle/girl time each night.
She is getting so smart (too smart sometimes) and is still loving school. She is learning so much.
She is super sassy and we love that about her.
Did I mention that she is starting to read. Mostly site words but can sound out short words as well. And she loves it. I love how much she is learning.
SYTYCD 09
Holly, MaryAnn, Shannon and I joined Greg's fun aunts and cousins at the So You Think You Can Dance 2009 Tour at the E-Center a few weeks ago. It was seriously so much fun and the dancing was AMAZING! I was happy to have a great girls night and see some fabulous dancing.
On a side note, I THOUGHT I could still dance. I went to my first dance class in over 10 years and got a major heel injury. It has been two weeks today and it is STILL not any better. I even got X-rays because I was sure it was broken. Nope just a major heel bruise that will keep me off my foot(yeah right, not an option) for 3-4 weeks or more. AHHHHHH I guess I won't be trying out for the show any time soon! haha

{Pre-School Learnin'}
Alexa is still loving school and loves to share what she has learned. Occasionally she will spew out an entire song or story that she has learned and never shown me before.
Here are examples.
The Pledge of Allegiance - I'm sure it has taken her weeks and weeks to learn this but today is the first I have heard her even mention it... let alone say the entire thing.
The other two are songs which she shared with me a few weeks ago. Again, I know she has been practicing them daily at school but the first time I heard them she had them down perfectly.

{Costumes}

We spent Halloween weekend at the pumpkin patch, carving pumpkins and trick-or-treating with cousins.
It was a LOT of fun and the kids loved every bit of it.
For months Alexa insisted on being a purple cat for Halloween. Where was I going to find a purple cat costume? My good friend Lacey came to the rescue... whew! It was SO girly and SO Alexa. It was perfect!
Gavin was a "Future Golfer". We found it online and had to have it. It was adorable. He hated the hat and didn't care about the foam golf clubs but he looked so cute, it didn't matter!

Practice, practice, practice!
I have my first official "photo shoot" this Saturday. I have never REALLY tried hard to learn how to use my camera to get a great shot until this last week. These are two that I took today. Like I told my mom, don't judge their faces but the quality of the photo. I'm really trying here and hopefully getting better every day. Now I just need to figure out what I can sell around here to afford a nicer lens. That will make the WORLD of difference. ;)

{Great Idea}

This is such a great idea. I saw it on a friends blog. Santa will be sending a post card to my house soon!
"Austin is my oldest son. He’s 13. And he’s super cool! He plays the guitar and ukelele, he dances hula, he has a big heart, and he desperately wants to go to Ethiopia with me to pick up his baby sister. The problem is the cost. Tickets will be about $2500 each. So, he is planning a few things to raise some of the money so that he can go.
We all know that Santa vacations here in Hawaii. He sits on the beach in his beach chair wearing his bright flowery Hawaiian board shorts sipping a pretty umbrella drink. I’ve seen him. Really.
Well... he’s here right now. I imagine that he’s here trying to relax before getting into full blown Christmas mode. While he’s here in Hawaii, he picks up postcards and sends them to little girls and boys, reminding them to be nice and that soon he will be checking his list again. He also has some really cool stories to tell about Hawaii - the beaches, sea turtles, humpback whales, surfing. I bet he’ll include at least one little bit on each postcard, too.
Be sure to let us know the child(ren)’s name(s) and address(es). In a few short days your child will receive a personal note on a Hawaiian postcard... postmarked from Hawaii, too.
In addition, you get to feel good about your purchase, because it’s helping a 13 year old be creative and work his way to get something he really wants... a trip with his Mom to pick up his new baby sister from Ethiopia."

{Liberty Land}
On Labor day we headed off to Liberty Land with Judy & Jim.
It was really a lot of fun! We weren't thinking that it would be so fun but the kids loved it.
We started off miniature golfing. Not an easy task with a ball hog. Gavin tried to take all of our balls off the green. Alexa needs to do EVERYTHING "MY SELF" so it was hard to show her the correct way to stand and hold the club.
We then headed to the roller coaster. I told Alexa that it was a big "train" to get her to go on it. She LOVED it. She had a look of terror the entire time but when I asked her if she wanted to go again with me she said, "Yep!" Then she and I went again singing High School Musical the entire time. She is a goof. We hit the airplanes, carousel, bounce house, the real train, froggy jumper, pirate ship, bouncy slide and more... over and over and over again.
Gavin LOVED the pirate ship, bounce house and the train. Alexa LOVED the froggy jumper.
What a difference a year makes. Last year at about this time we were in Orlando at Disney World. Alexa didn't love a lot of the rides. I think she would REALLY love it now.

{Zoo Fun}
"Don't let it get me!!!!!"
Last week we went to the Zoo with Shannon & Bentley. It wasn't crowded and the weather was great. It was a lot of fun. Alexa wanted a souvenir so she picked out a $3 gorilla mask. She took it to show & tell the next day at school and thought she was hilarious. I tried to take a pix of them with the metal gorilla but Gavin would not have anything to do with it. It was SO FUNNY! This first picture will show you his terror!
