Explain This One . . .

If Tom can fly a 747, why can't he figure out that a WHITE Nike t-shirt might not be the best thing to use when cleaning up liquid laundry soap off of the garage floor?!?!?!

Grrrr . . . .

Tonsils, Adenoids and Ear Tubes

So today was hopefully Tommy's last surgery for a while. Poor little guy had ear tubes put in at 6 months, adenoids removed at 12 months, and today had his tonsils removed, any remaining adenoid tissue removed, and had the ear tubes removed and the eardrums patched. He came through it like a little champ though.

Here he was in the lobby--happy and not quite sure what was going on.

Here he is in the pediatric pre-op area--this time not quite so happy. He was tired, hungry, and in a strange place with people poking and prodding him. The nurses acted a little surprised that he was acting up--as Tommy would say, He-lloooooooo! Apparently he was one of their more challenging peds this morning (imagine that!), but nothing a little Versed couldn't cure.

This time he did awesome coming out of the anesthesia--quite a different story from 12 months old! He was quite comfy and Mommy and Daddy took turns snuggling up with him while he snoozed. The nurses even brought a warm blanket and put over Daddy. They were both fast asleep in no time. Like I told Dr. Hurley, "There's my two babies." (One, being the biggest baby of all, if you know what I mean . . .)

Can't Keep Him Down

A little tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy and ear tube removal won't keep this kid down--this was about 3 1/2 hours after his surgery. So much for a day of rest for him (and me!). Oh well, at least it all went well :)

Go Fly a Kite!

And I mean that in the nicest way possible. Yesterday Tom returned from a two-week circle around the globe again. This time he picked us up some Chinese kites. Sam got a butterfly, Tommy got a bat, I got Mickey Mouse, and Daddy got a big blue fish. It just happened to be the perfect kite-flying weather too. (Anyone know why in the heck this is underlined??? Oh well, you get the general idea.)

Annual Carnival

Every spring Superstition Springs Elementary holds its annual carnival. The kids always seem to look forward to it, and this year Tommy was old enough/big enough to play on a few more of the attractions.

Sammie had to help Tommy the first time or two, but it didn't take long for him to master this obstacle course!

Sam's winning, but you can see Tommy's little fingers coming through.

My favorite part of this little clip is at the end . . . notice as Tommy falls off and gets mad :) (Not my child! We're all quite graceful if I do say so myself!)
