Just a few random thoughts....

Just a few random thoughts as I sit here at 3:20 in the morning wide awake. Why am I wide awake you ask? Well, Jane woke up at 1:46 crying. After letting her cry for 10 minutes, (and listening to/FEELING Danny tossing and turning in our bed) I decided to just go ahead and feed her.

Augh, the middle of the night feedings! They can really bring out the unpleasantness of being tired. It is interesting to me the look one may receive, as the baby "she" is responsible for cries...and cries...and cries.

The look! The look you can clearly see in the dark. The look that is stamped in your brain on any given sleepless night with the first baby and is still vividly there with the last baby.

And, what does "she" say to the "look?"

"Yes, I know the baby is crying."

So now a hour or so later, I am wide awake...surfing the net, reading blogs, bidding on ebay...telling myself "you're gonna pay for this wakefulness in just a few hours."

So what am thinking about in these wee hours of the morning? My list for tomorrow--I mean today.

1.) Post Office-Mail book
2.) Target-return dress, get shower card
3.) Insurance-fill out reimbursement form
4.) Cleopatra-Find doll stand for Maddie's school project
5.) Bank-deposit
6.) Easter-finish baskets before Virgina
7.) Pay traffic ticket!!!! Again, mixed feelings--long story!
8.) Start packing
9.) Chick-fil-A and park for lunch.

Oh, and by the way. I deeply LOVE the look behind "the look" mentioned above!
I'm so glad he's mine!

My polls...

My polls are over and the results are interesting. The according to the Webster's dictionary, Mojo is defined as: a magic spell, hex, or charm ; broadly : magical power mojo on the tennis court.

So, this being said, it really has nothing to do with the thought I get when I hear My Love use this when he is referring to someones personal style, "charm", or look. I can see Danny BEAMING from ear to ear when he reads this---Grrr!

Sixty four percent of us think Austin Powers and I am guessing, all that goes along with him, if you know what I mean. The fact is, I don't like when Danny says the word "mojo." It drives me nuts and I get a little embarrassed.

Okay, now the "freaking poll." I lost this poll BIG TIME! Again, Danny is BEAMING I am sure. He hates when I say this word. I am too embarrassed to type what the word "freaking" is defined as. Go here to read it for yourself.

Basically I did not know!
(Fifty-six percent of you do!)
Me, being a sheltered, second of 5 daughters, raised baptist female---I didn't know the true meaning of what I was saying.

How was I to know that if you add an "-
ing" to the word "freak" it is bad????? They didn't teach me that in grammar class. I always thought that adding "-ing" meant you were doing something at that moment or had done something. i.e. I am going shopping! Or i.e. I was freaking out when saw that I was losing this poll.

So, a word to the wise. Know what you are saying. And, I, for one will no longer be saying the word "freak" with "-
ing" added to the end. I am sure My Love is thrilled!

I am adding another poll to my side bar today. It is a serious one. A thought provoking one. NOT a poll to offend anyone, but one to make you think or discuss, as Danny and I did this week. Take a moment to vote. Again, there is no way for me to know who votes and what you vote for.

Yesterday, for lunch...

Yesterday, for lunch, I made Inger's Taco soup. (It is more like a thick soup.) I'm not sure it if is on the What's for Din Din site. I will have to go check and then post it if its not there.

Anyway, it was so good, so easy! Actually I made it before I left for church. I browned the ground beef and then place it and the rest of the ingredients in a crock pot on low. When we returned home...Mmmmm Mm! We topped it with cheese and hint of lime Tostitos . I was too tired to make corn bread, which would be another GREAT topper to this yummy dish! The recipe made enough for all of us to eat plus plenty for left overs tonight! No cooking for me!

This has been...

This has been a crazy week! Blogging and being on the computer has been few and far between for me the past couple of days.

So tonight, while I sit alone on the sofa watching a SNL re-run on E, (Olsen twins hosting--BORING), and while I wait for some clothes to finish washing so I can place them in the dryer before going to bed, I thought I'd give you the rundown on a few of my ever so interesting blog patrol stats.

My top referrer (aside from self-referring or those who have bookmarked my blog) for the week is Amy, followed by Cissie, and then Nikki, Noel, Elizabeth, Angela and Inger. Interesting! It used to always be Donna followed by Dolly, but sadly they have totally slipped off the chart. Come on girls, don't your peeps like me?

Here are a few things that were "googled" this week, and brought people to my blog: donna and roy grahams blog, amy dolly reber, nikki hogsed blog, tonya sorrels pafford, and lastly, leland seckman. This is always my favorite part of my blog patrol stats. It is so interesting to me to see who or what people are looking for. Trust me,
many of you reading this have been googled. And, googling is good. One of Danny's friends from high school was able to recently get in contact with him just by googling his name--interesting!

Nine o'clock in the morning seems to be the most popular time to read my blog this week, followed by 2:00 in the afternoon.

Lastly, before I go to bed tonight I am going to post a two polls on my side bar. Please take a moment to vote! Even if you don't normally comment on my blog--please vote. There is no way of me knowing who votes and what you vote for. This poll does serve a purpose. I will post on the results when the poll is over.

Some friends of mine...

Some friends of mine sent me the email below. For some reason it caught me a just the right time. I was laughing out loud, so I thought I would blog about it. I hope you get a few laughs this morning! My favorites are highlighted in blue!

These are from a book called 'Disorder in the Courts' and are
things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now
published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm while
these exchanges were actually taking place.

ATTORNEY: Now
, doctor, isn't it true that when a person dies in his
sleep, he doesn't know about it until the next morning?
WITNESS: Did you actually pass the bar exam?
_________________________ ___________
ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the twenty-year-old, how old is he?
WITNESS: He's twenty, much like your IQ.
_________________ __________________________

ATTORNEY: So the date of conception (of the baby) was August 8th?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: And what were you doing at that time?
WITNESS: Getting laid
.
____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: She had three children, right?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: How many were boys?
WITNESS: None.
ATTORNEY: Were there any girls?
WITNESS : Your Honor, I think I need a different attorney. Can I get a
new attorney?
____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: How was your first marriage terminated?
WITNESS: By death.
ATTORNEY: And by whose death was it terminated?
WITNESS: Take a guess.
____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Can you describe the individual?
WITNESS: He was about medium height and had a beard.
ATTORNEY: Was this a male or a female?
WITNESS: Unless the Circus was in town I'm going with male.
_____________________________________

ATTORNEY: Doctor, how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead
people?
WITNESS: All of them. The live ones put up too much of a fight.
_________________________________________
ATTORNEY: ALL your responses MUST be oral, OK?

What school did you go to?
WITNESS: Oral.
_____________________________________
ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 p.m.
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: If not, he was by the time I finished.
__________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Are you qualified to give a urine sample?
WITNESS: Are you qualified to ask that question?
____________________________________
And the best for last:
ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the
autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient
was alive when you began the autopsy?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive,
nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and

practicing law somewhere.

Happy Second Birthday Sweet Margaux!

Happy second birthday to our sweet little Margaux Jeanne! So hard to believe our baby girl is two years old.

We had a full day of celebrating. NO nap, ONE melt down, and sadly--bye bye to the passy! All in all a great day.

Who knew they make so many different Dora toys??? She didn't get one duplicate.

Below are some pictures of our day. Every time we told Margaux to smile for a picture she would say, "What?" She is a funny girl!

Grown Up Awana Grand Prix...

Below are some pictures from our grown up, no rules, Awana Grand Prix. Danny's burban was pretty cool. Although stupid me forgot to get a good picture of it.

I think he won every race he competed in. There no rules to how those racing could build their cars. SO, Danny replaced the wheels and axles that came with the car kit, with a retractable set of wheels off a toy truck he bought at Walmart. That being said, his burban went sailing down the track. He loved it. I was kind of embarrassed! It was a fun night.

Its Awana Grand Prix Time

The Awana Grand Prix is a highlight of most Awana programs. Last night our church held its annual Grand Prix. It is so much fun watching the children take turns racing their cars. Both Harry Jack and Dan Dan were in the prix this year and were out of the race in the first round, second race. They were great sports!

Harry Jack was TRILLED this year because as a
Cubbie he was finally able to compete in the race. Danny made him the cutest little truck out of the Awana Grand Prix car kit, and Harry Jack painted it. A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!! He was so proud! And, thank you Jesus that he won 4th place for car design!

Dan Dan made a replica of a remote control
mustang that he has. He such a cutie.
This is how we found Harry Jack before
we went to bed last night. Another cutie!

Tomorrow night is our first ever "Grown Up" Grand Prix for Awana leaders. Danny is supposed to make a suburban in honor of me and our children. Hopefully I will have more pix of the "adult prix" a bit later...

Tonight at dinner...

Tonight at dinner we started talking to Margaux about her birthday coming up this weekend. It was too cute and I had to pull the camera out.

I hope you don't mind. Oh, and excuse the supper on her face. Pot roast, green beans, and squash--Yummy!

I LOVE to listen to her talk. She is just the cutest most independent sweetheart!

My Danny Boy ...

My Danny Boy is a bright child. He is an "A" honor roll student. But, yesterday on the way home from school he cracked me up, and for a moment I thought to myself, "How much money are we spending each month for his education?

We were almost home from school yesterday when we passed this HUGE American flag that proudly waves its stars and stripes in the Florida breeze. We see this flag every day but yesterday it sparked some patriotic interest in my Dan Dan.

He began telling us that there is an American flag in a museum in Washington DC and it has all kinds of bullet holes in it from the Revolutionary War. Then he started telling me that there is an American flag in the museum that is HUGE. This particular flag has stars that are something like 10 feet wide, and the flag itself is one inch thick??? Sadly, at this point, I started to fade out from the flag chatter in the truck. I was focusing on what I need to get done at home before we needed to head back out to
Awana.

Anyway, I soon came back to my senses when I heard Danny say, "and mom, do you know who sewed the flag?"

"Who Dan Dan?" I said.

"Some girl named RUTH." He said.

"Ruth???" I said. "How about Betsy."

Then he said, "Oh yeah, Betsy RUTH."

I laughed and then corrected him. It was cute.

This is why I love boys. They don't grow up as quick as girls. I believe that is purposely part of Gods plan for boys.

They say and do the cutest, sweetest little boy things.

Oh, and this Spring or Summer, when we are on vaca in old Virginny, we are going to DC to see that wonderful American flag.
