Booohoooohoooo!

This is how I feel about not having High Speed Internet Access at our house! (Long story!)

We have to go to The Good Cherry, up the street from our house, or to my parents house to get online! Click
here and imagine Danny and me taking turns sitting here with our little'ol lap top.

Priority this week: DSL!!!!!!

We're home!

We are finally somewhat moved into our house. We arrived here two weeks ago this coming Tuesday. We unloaded our stuff and left for the beach with my family that Saturday, where we spent a very relaxing week at Myrtle Beach and arrived home again yesterday. By the way, ONE house, TWELVE children, and ELEVEN adults--that's some loud crazy sort of fun!

Goodness gracious, there is so much to blog about. To keep it simple, here are a few tid-bits about our new life "Back Home, Where Our Story Began."

*We live next door to my older sister, Dayna and family. The children LOVE their cousins being next door.
*We live approximately 3 minutes from my parents and 2 minutes from my sister Dawn, and about 6 minutes from my sister Dolly.
*We DO NOT have internet access, TV, or home phone at our house yet--which is somewhat nice.
*The children are OBSESSED with the laundry shoot they have in their bathroom.
*Speaking of houses, our home in FL is still on the market so we are renting a home here. We have the BEST landlords! My parents!!!!!
*Basically we are just loving life. Our life has drastically, BIG time, ABSOLUTELY slowed down.
*It was SO nice having Danny home with me this morning getting the children ready for church... actually going to church with Danny, and sitting in church with him (although we were both thinking of and praying for the staff at SBC and thinking of all our friends back home---HOME?? Did I call North Port home?????)

And lastly, here are a few pictures from our week at the beach. I posted more on Facebook so those who have seen them already, bear with me. OH OH OH!!! And, guess what? I won the family talent show! We have this inside family joke and I did this crazy interpretive dance about it. That was some funny stuff!
We ate VERY well all week!
The kids table---outside!
Maddie and her cousin Grayson
Awwwww!
She asked me to do this to her!

He asked for this too...
...it was his idea!
Guess who is crawling!!!!!

Okay, that's all folks...until I get back to my parents home for DSL access. See Ya!

Goodbye!

So, today was our goodbye day. So sad! So HARD to say goodbye to so many good people. I took my spare camera (my good one is packed) with me today to get some picture of some of our friends. Below are some of the people who helped make my life and Danny's job so easy!
Derek (A LU alumni!!!). Derek is a good guy! I think he has been on the SBC staff longer than anyone there, which is PREEEETY good...preeeety good!

Cheryl-Ann, the lady in charge of many of our church outreach ministries like Feed the Need, and Operation Christmas Child. My first memory of Cheryl-Ann was at my BIL's wedding a few months before we moved here. She was the wedding coordinator. My first impression of her was, "Wow, this girl doesn't mess around. We need to do what she says."
The Carter's (aka Mr. Noodle from Elmo's world--not really, but he looks like him to us!) minus two of their daughters. Nicole and Mr. Noodle work at SBC and Mrs. Carter is just the sweetest lady and always took care of me and my children in the church cafe. This family kind of reminds me of my parents and sisters. Mr. Noodle lived with 4 ladies in his house and stayed sane---my dad lived with 6 ladies and stayed sane...those are some GOOD men!
Aww, sweet baby Jane slept during all the sad goodbyes and all the tears! She was one smart baby!
The Rodriguez' minus Timmy and Alyssa. This is one incredible family! They watched our children from Friday evening until about 5pm on Saturday, so we could pack. Then again today after church until about 8pm. What a HUGE gift they gave us in doing this! They fed us too! Danny and I both had a few plates of food from Heather and Tim and Robyn, (Heathers mother). On the way home from their house Saturday evening Maddie said to me, "Momma, you can cook good, but Miss Robyn can REALLY cook!" Maddie is so sweet and correct! Thank you Rodriguez' and Robyn and you too Jamie (Heather's sister).

Dan and Michelle---goodness, these two are great. Long time SBC'ers. Dan would call my Danny several times during the week and just make sure he was doing well and encourage him. Michelle and I worked in Awana together and just had a simply wonderful friendship.
Bobby our worship leader (awesome!!!) and Josh an intern. Harry Jack LOVED all the intern's at SBC and Bobby--I think Harry's first word was B-O-B-B-Y! Thanks guys for letting Harry drive you all nuts! I know it got annoying at times!
Lauryn and Mark! Lauryn is our pastor's secretary. She is the glue that holds it all together--or should I say listens to all the chaos/junk and then deals with it. She is one great lady. Mark is just the nicest man! One thing I love about Lauryn and Mark is the way they show their love for each other. They are empty nesters and Danny and I have said more than once, "We want to be like Mark and Lauryn when we get big."
My park friend Angela (wife to Derek above) with baby number 3 in her tummy. Angela and I have been going to the park every Tuesday for a LONG time. For the rest of my life I will always think of Angela when I see a playground! Sniff Sniff!
Sniff sniff again! This is the Scott family. They have 5 children too, all between the ages of 2 and 6 I think. When I'm having a bad day I think of Mandy and then I feel better. At least I have 2 older children to help me out, Mandy doesn't. Mandy is a GREAT mommy and I know every now and then, she has tougher days than me! I'm gonna miss seeing this sweet-sweet family!

Lori and Tina work in the preschool. Long time SBC'er!!!! We were on our way to Lori's house the night we had to take Margaux to the hospital (her husband is a Dr and told us we need to go). It was a bitter sweet night for us. We were sad that Margaux was in the ER, and we also were sad that we couldn't go out on the boat and jet ski's!!! But we made up for it a few nights later. Thank you Lori and family for the FUN time and good food. And Lori---I didn't get to hug you goodbye! Aww man!

Tina, I am so happy you are helping staff the preschool. Every church needs a Tina! Lets just say she gets the job done.

Nicole, Becky, and Ginger--Oh me oh my! Truly good girls! They are on staff at SBC. They were bummed that I took their pictures in these great, "Ask me about camp" shirts, so thanks girlies for letting me. Each of these girls helped Danny out GREATLY with his job. Nicole is the money lady, Becky is the preschool lady and Ginger is the hospitality lady. All three of these girls are just perfect in their roll at SBC. I'm gonna miss Nicole's upbeat fun personality, Becky's sweet gentle smile and Ginger's servanthood.

So there you have it, just a few of the many people we will miss! Sniff-sniff! Keep your peepers (eyes) open guys! We may just pop in on you one weekend when you least expect it!

Breaking news!

Okay, so I'm thinking to myself, hmm, how do I start this post?

I hate trying to figure out the best way to tell breaking news in "My Life in Southwest Florida."

You know, its like you need to make this big announcement while at the same time you hold your breath hoping it is received well .

So, I'm thinking I'll go the "world series route."
Yikes, is this a good idea???? I mean Danny, a.k.a. My Love, loves baseball. Okay, here it goes...
(Said in a sports commentator's voice.)"Dan Logan, now that you've resigned from your job here in SWFL, what's the first thing you're gonna do?"

(Said in a crazed sports fan's...or wife's voice.)
"WE'RE MOVING TO VIRGINIA!"

Ahhh, it's out! Finally we can talk about it. Yes, we are moving! On Monday we are heading home, to good ole Virginny! Its a dream come true. We always knew we wanted to end up there, but it seemed so far away in reality.

I know some of you are like, "Wow, this happened quick." In our experience, resigning in a ministry is different from the rest of the working world. You resign, its kept a secret for a while, and then bam, you're gone.

You see, we understand how this works, but its hard for those who don't understand. It's like one week you're at church, and the next week you're telling the lady you worked with in the nursery for the past year, "today's my last day, we're moving
tomorrow."
(This is what I have to do Sunday. Ouch!)

Anyway, It's all good. A smooth transition is truly what is needed and things are going very well. It always works out the way it is supposed to.

So all you Florida peeps, we will be back to visit, as Danny's family is here, but you guys come see us too. We seriously have plenty of room for you and would love to show you "the burg!"

Oh, and what's Danny's new job??? All I can say is, "Is there a Dr. in the house???" No, not a M.D., but a Prrooooofessor (said in an intellectual accented voice). Danny has accepted a psychology teaching position at our alma mater Liberty University!

So folks, I'm gonna be M.I.A. for a week or two while we get moved in. In the mean time...any suggestions for a new blog title?
