Okay, so this past week I was shopping at Target ALONE (thanks to my sweet mother), and I ran into a friend of mine, Kim, who I frequently run into at Target. We were couponing (is that a word??) for various Target deals, when Kim asked me if I had a Target Debit Card. Long story short, I didn't, but now I do! (Side note: Kim and I met years ago in Freshman 101 at LU. I just think it is neat how we meet people in life. Anyway...)
Girls, if you don't have a TDC already, methinks YOU NEED ONE! This is a debit card that is connected to your checking account. When you use it, you get 5% off your total purchase AND you can assign your child's school to your card allowing Target to give them monies via your purchases, AND if your banking account is like mine you still get your bank account benefits (ie. Wachovia's "Way To Save").
This debit card is like having an extra coupon in your wallet! Seriously, each time I go to Target I get, at least, an extra $2 or $3 off my purchase, just by using this TDC--that comes right out of my checking account! LOVE it!
Okay so here's how you get it. When you pay for your mdse. (merchandise), tell them you want to get a TDC. They will get you signed up right there on the spot. You give them a blank check and that's all. You will get 5% off that purchase, it will come out of your checking and your debit card will be on its way to your house, via the good ole USPS.
ANOTHER SIDE NOTE: make sure you ask them to set up your pin number for the TDC when you check out. If not, your TDC will come in the mail without a pin number and you will need to call to set one up BEFORE you can use your card. (Just writing from experience.) Also, You will need to call the 800 # to set up the school thing mentioned above, after you get your card.
Just another reason to shop at Target!
