The Hunger Games

So this morning, EARLY this morning at 12:01am, Maddie and I made a memory. We went to the opening show of The Hunger Games.

I dropped Maddie off at the mall last night about 8:45, to stand in line with her friends. When I arrived later, at about 11:15, I was SHOCKED to see the parking lot FULL of cars (I know, I'm a newbie to opening night movies). MORE shocking was who was sitting in our theater with us! It was like church! Hmm, surprising how many Hunger Game fans are out there. I think the only thing that would have surprised me more was if my mother, aka Jenius (who read the books by the way) would have been sitting in the theater too!

Anyway, for all you HG fans out there, the movie is GREAT! It was about 2 hours long. Obviously not everything in the book is in the movie, there is just not enough time.

Saying goodbye to Primrose in District 12-my eyes got a bit moist.
The "killings"--tastefully done (that is odd to say)--just like the book
Rue's death--again, my eyes got a bit moist, you will love sweet Rue!
Bloody/Gore--in my opinion, its very minimal--again tastefully done, just like the book
Ending--ended great!
Being in a movie theater with tired, sugared up, Team Peeta/Gale teenagers at midnight--WOW! That was an experience in itself! I'll say again, WOW!

Apart from the camera shots, that a times made me a bit dizzy because they wanted you to feel like you were actually there "watching" with your own eyes, I give it a 10! I want to see it again!

Happy 5th Birthday Margaux

Today is our Sweet Margaux Jeanne's 5th birthday! When I think of this sweet baby girl of ours my heart just smiles. You see, after we had Harry Jack, both Danny and I thought we had seriously completed our family. But shortly after we moved to Florida and I held my new niece, Gia, I remember vividly telling Danny, "I want another baby!" About a year and a half later, God blessed us with beautifully sweet Margaux Jeanne.

Here's a little walk down memory lane!
Just a hour or so old, my parents, Danny's parents, and Maddie, Dandan, and Harry Jack peek into the nursery to get their first look at baby Margaux.

Pure sweetness!
My favorite picture of Harry Jack and Margaux!

Since this week is Spring Break, I brought cupcakes to Margaux's class last Friday.
Margaux's teacher, Mrs. Everett, celebrates birthday's in her class in such a sweet way! Margaux got to pick 2 friends to stand beside her and pray for her on her birthday. Margaux picked Hadley and Madison. Their little prayers for Margaux were so sweet!
All Margaux talked about all week was being able to sit in the rocking chair in front of the class and getting this birthday treat bag from her teachers.

We celebrated Margaux's birthday a night early. Last night we invited our family over to celebrate Margaux. Below is a sweet video of my niece Beatrice. She couldn't make it to the party, but wanted to send along her wishes. She is a very sweet girl!

Below are pictures of the party tonight. We have a BIG family, so there are LOTS of pictures!
Making a wish!

It was a fun day! A long day for a sweet 5 year old to wait for the big celebration tonight. Happy Birthday Margaux Jeanne!
