Summer in St George

What do you do during the summer when you're in St. George??  Play in the water of course!!!! Our first trip we went to play at the little water park they have near the library.  We went with Anne and Melissa as well as their kids.  Here are a few of the pics I got while we were there.

We also rode the carousel they have nearby.  Here is Justin and Zane being goofy.  My boys had already left with their mom so they weren't with us for these pics.

When Lilly first rode the carousel she was scared and did not have a good time.  Now she loves it!

I loved this pic of Lilly.  I think it turned out pretty cool looking.  Still playing with the lighting on the camera.

Playing in the pool at Grandpa and Grandma Kitchel's house.

Cousin Gray came to play in the water too.  We sure love that little chunk.
We play in the water when we are at home.  This is Lilly with her friend Olivia.  We stopped to have lunch near a little stream that runs across the highway from Newspaper Rock.

We went back to SG to pick up the boys and went a couple of days early so we could see our cousins again.  This is at a water park in Little Valley.  This one was a new one for us.  We had a lot of fun.  It was so hot I got drenched too.  I am a wimp when it comes to 100 degree weather now that I'm use to cooler days.  Here is Lilly and Akira.

Zane and Justin enjoying the shade.

Cousin Jimmy.

Loved how the photo captured the water behind Akira.

Cousin Paige.

Melissa insisted that I get a picture since I kept taking them of her and Anne.  Probably not a bad idea since I am usually behind the camera.

We went to the waterpark the next day with my brother Daniel, Megan and their girls.
Here is Elora with her aunt.

Lilly sure loves playing in the water so going to SG is a great big water party as far as she is concerned.
Aunt Megan with baby Alexia.

Daniel and Elora.

When we got back to the house Elora played in the cabinets with Lilly.  Her favorite game was to shut Lilly in the cabinets and run away laughing.  My niece is of a serious nature so it was extra cute to see her do this with Lilly.

Even though she's getting big Lilly is still a kid at heart and loves to find hiding spaces.

I got some pictures of Elora and she was a perfect little ham for the camera.  She just such a happy girl here.

Jeremy's Graduation from Elementary School 2013

Jeremy's graduation was quite the to-do.  They had all the kids dressed up in their Sunday best. The 6th grade band played a few songs to start things off.  Jeremy was in the band but none of the pictures I took were good(that darn lighting!).  Sadly we decided not to let him play again this year because he was very difficult at the end about getting his instrument where it was supposed to be as well as cooperating at school with his teachers when it was time to go to band.  That makes it so sad is that he is a very good player. If I had the money I would get him into private lessons. They stood under the trellis and then walked down the aisle to their seats.  They did a video presentation of the all the kids in their grade and everybody received their diploma and any extra awards they might have earned during the year.  The whole thing took about an hour and a half.

Mundy made the black and orange sign that says class of 2019 that Jeremy is standing under.  Jeremy ended up getting to keep it.

Jeremy with his friend Tye Lampkins.

Jeremy with his teacher Mrs. Young.  She is the best teacher he's had in his school experience.  Or in other words he was best behaved for her.  We will miss having her as a teacher and hopefully Jonah or Lilly will end up getting her in the future.

This is Mrs. Randall who was Jonah's teacher.  He really enjoyed having her and she was great to work with.

Farm Days 2013

A local farm does farm days for the school kids and anybody else that wants to go.  We decided we wanted to go and invited Manike, Jon and Carolina to go as well my sister Amanda and baby Gray.  It was pretty warm there as they are at a lower elevation in Blanding then we are, but it was pretty much. Sadly the petting zoo was pretty limited as a lot of the animals were overwhelmed with all the kids so they hid at the back of their stalls and cages, but we did get to hold baby ducks, geese, and ducks as well as pet some kittens.

Lilly wasn't to sure about petting the baby goats, but relaxed once she did it.

She was little wigged out with the baby birds too because they were so squirmy. Though she thought they were pretty cool as did Carolina.

Baby Jon just chillin.

Amanda and baby Gray checking out the Shetland ponies and the horses.

We ran into Jonah at the farm as his class went too.

They had a hayride that was pretty cool, unfortunately still trying to figure out the lighting so the pictures didn't turn out very good.

Dad Dutton's Baptism

This was a really special occasion for our family.  Mundy was asked by his dad to baptize him as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  I am so proud of dad and the changes he is striving to make in his life.  I am thankful for the example he has set for his grandchildren.  It was a special day and I am glad I could be a witness to it.  A quick little anecdote:  Lilly was waiting in the chapel with us after the baptism and she asked me why Dad was baptizing
Grandpa.  I explained that Grandpa wanted to be a member of Jesus' church and to do so he needed to be baptized.  She proceeded to ask if she was going to be baptized and I told her when she was 8 she could be baptized.  Her response, "I don't want to be baptized.  I want to be a princess!!!".  She is just so cute!!

A picture of the Grandkids. My how they are growing up!!!
A lot of my pics didn't turn out to great as I am still learning to play with the lighting.  And below is a family pic.  We are missing Robyn and his family as they couldn't make it but I wanted to get a pic of everybody that was there and had to be pushy to do it.  Some of Mundy's family is not big on getting their pictures taken.

Mom and Dad Dutton.  I made them get together so we could get their picture.  It's not an easy task!

Scott Dutton and his family.
I am going to have to get pictures of the Dion Dutton family and our family as the ones we had on our camera didn't turn out.

2013 random pictures

Here are random pics taken during the first half of 2013.  The girls here with Lilly are Siri and Penn.  They live across the street and play together often.  One of the most favorite things to do is play dress up.  Even when Carolina come over there is at least one change of clothes during a play session.  We also use Halloween costumes as you can see below.

One of the cutest things I've seen Lilly do is sit in front of her mirror and read to herself.  She hasn't done it much lately so it might have been a short lived trend, but I think it was quite cute.

In February we went to Hatch and one of the things we got to do is play Just Dance at Aunt Kristy's.  Lilly even got in on the action.  It was pretty fun to do and to watch the kids participate.  Of course Andrew quit participating once the camera came out.  I wonder if he will ever outgrow his aversion to getting his picture taken.

This is Aunt Kristy and Morgan.  He is such a cutie and a blessing to our family.  I am so happy for them as they've been waiting for him for years.  :)

One of our favorite things to do with Grandpa and Grandma Dutton is go down to the river.  Sometimes we just go to play other times we do a weenie roast.  It was a little cool but sunny and nice this day.

Another favorite pastime of Mundy and the boys is to whittle while we are out in nature.

Andrew's birthday.  Here he is holding his gifts.

Early this summer we went with my friend Hannah and her daughters to check out where Indian Falls is (so we can go there next spring to play in the water) and then ate lunch and let the girls play in the stream near Newspaper Rock. It was fun and I got to know my friend better.
