Family Photo

We took a family photo at Seth's baptism. I have to laugh when I look at it now.

Eric and Camille: Isn't our family amazing!
Adam: I will smile for the camera but I will not look at it.
Caleb: I will humor my parents although it pains me to do so.
James: I did NOT give you permission to take this picture.
David: I wonder if I could eat James's head?

Before The Snow

Sometime before the snow fell I took the older two out to play while the younger boys were sleeping. We only managed to stay out for a few minutes before they got too cold but it was fun while it lasted.

Adam loves this pink scooter although it is not ours. He got a new red one from Grandma Cheryl and Grandpa Logan for Christmas so he could retain his manliness while riding.

"Westward Ho, Men!"

Sweet Caleb.

The Randomness of November

As always, I have random pictures that I want to have posted for prosperity purposes. Here we go...

Caleb and Adam like to watch other people play Super Mario Bros. on YouTube. I turn the sound down for fear of undesirable language and let them have at it. Sometimes I put David near them so he can watch them watching the computer. Ten minutes of washing dishes. Totally worth it.

This is a smile for Adam.

Caleb was too distracted to actually smile at the camera.

"Oh no you didn't!"

I don't know why David couldn't smile too. I mean, I know it was naptime but think of what an amazing picture this would have been. James was napping during this one. I wonder what my chances would be of getting four happy boys at the same time......

My happy firstborn.

Caleb can fly!

James wanted to eat breakfast with a wire whisk and who was I to argue?

I love this picture simply because he actually wanted me to take it. I just sat and snapped away while he modeled his amazing hat. What a ham.

David

Goodness I love this baby! He smiles, he sleeps, and he loves me back. How perfect is that?!

This is a smile for me. I have such a hard time paying attention in church and other similar places because he is just so stinking cute.

Another smile for me. Yay!

This is a look of uncertainty and distrust. David dropped from the 40th to the 2nd percentile for weight in four months and the doctor and I decided to give formula a try instead of breastfeeding. He was not a fan of this plan, as you can see. He likes it much better now and I no longer get this look from him. Thank goodness.

I wanted to play with my camera one day and David was the only one who would humor me. You would think that I would have more willing subjects....

Adam did come in long enough to give his baby a kiss. They have a mutual appreciation society.

David learned to sit by himself a few weeks ago. He didn't practice the feat. He just sat. Weird. Maybe it was easy for him because he is so small. Anyway, one more milestone down.

James and Caleb

James and Caleb are my two trouble makers. Since Adam started school in August, they have become particularly close and particularly good at getting into things they shouldn't and making big messes. I am glad they have each other for entertainment even if it means more work for me.

This was the day after Halloween. Yes, there is a sugar rush going on here.

I couldn't get either one of them to sit still for a picture. First James would be happy.....

Then Caleb would be happy. I guess Halloween was a success.

James found what I thought was an empty sack of flour one day. His first act upon finding the sack was to dump it on his head.  His second act was to repeat his first act.

Luckily there was only a little bit of flour left in the bottom of the bag and most of it stayed on his head. He seemed elated at the results of his actions.

Caleb was right there for the whole thing. He had no desire to pour flour on his head but he did manage to run through the flour that had fallen on the floor.  What fun times.

Halloween

Last post for October. Didn't think I would make it.

Eric was absent for Halloween this year. He had a class that he couldn't miss. I knew that going trick-or-treating by myself would only be a possibility if I bought a few dog leashes so I began pondering my other options. I actually considered going to Burley because I knew the boys would love it and I would have plenty of help to get me through the night. However, a trip to Burley meant a six hour car ride round trip and that just sounded like too much. And then I remembered: I am no longer without close family in the state of Utah as my brother and his wife moved to American Fork earlier this year. Winner, winner, chicken dinner. We got to spend Halloween with Uncle Kevin, Aunt Kimber, and little cousin Seth and boy did we have fun!

Cutest monkey ever!!!!! We hadn't even started walking yet and already he had found some candy.

A very reluctant handyman. He fell asleep on the way to American Fork and he is not a good waker-uper. Much like his father before him.

My bouncing, happy fireman. Yes, Adam is wearing red. Weird, I know. This coustume was just too cool for him to resist.

Cousin Seth the pumpkin. Just happy to tag along with his momma.

James couldn't believe that someone was offering him candy. It took a REALLY long time for him to pick one.

Caleb had a hard time figuring out who to grab a candy while still holding his bucket and a ring pop. Hard choices we make in life.

Adam gets it. Caleb's still struggling.

James had to stop a few times to look at his candy. He would have been content to stop after only a few houses.

David was irritated that I didn't get him out of the stroller/carrier. So hard to be the youngest.

Love the look on James's face. Pure sugar induced happiness.

I put David in his costume for picture purposes. He just wanted to eat it.

Adam is always so good at making David happy.

Eating candy hand over fist.

We had such a good time for Halloween. Thanks Elkins family!

Pumpkin Land

Adam's class went to Pumpkin Land in Vineyard a few days before Halloween. I really wanted to go with him as a family but Eric had to work and I knew there was no way I could do the four boys in an uncontained space all alone. We compromised by sending Adam with his class in the morning and then returning with him to Pumpkin Land later that same day. Adam felt that this was an excellent solution because got to enjoy the activities at Pumpkin Land twice in one day. I'm such a good parent.
They had a blow up slide there. You didn't slide very fast but just the idea of it made our oldest smile.

Caleb was a little more hesitant because he had just woken up from a nap but he seemed to have fun too.

James wanted to do it over and over and over and over again. Definitely his favorite thing.

The older boys spent some time in the bounce house. There were obviously far more interesting things to stare at then their mom.

I don't know how Eric ended up in the short one but he carries it well.

They had lots of things for the kids to climb in and around and under. They got a little dirty.

The giant pumpkin at Pumpkin Land.

Adam, so impressed with himself after climbing an obstacle.

They had a bigger slide for the older kids. Adam was the only one of ours old enough to use it. It took a little practice before he could climb up.

There he goes!

Such a happy toddler.

Love the static action here.

I told him to smile for grandma :)

James "helped" Eric to push the stroller around the corn maze. His assistance made them the happy caboose of our little train.

We ended our visit at their playground where Eric taught some of his boys to climb the netting.......

And James once again began to slide.
