The Randomness of November

Our random November moments....

The boys got ahold of Eric's hats one day. Is this not the cutest boy ever?!

James sporting a Jazz hat. A perfectly acceptable team in the Berg household, I might add.

Caleb is not a hat boy but he had to join in on the fun anyway.

My cute James being funny.

I just want to kiss that face!

Caleb in a rare happy portrait moment.

David is not as possessed as this picture makes him look, I promise. Just a bad setting on my camera.

I bought Eric a set of golf clubs for Christmas and decided I didn't want to wait until Christmas to actually give them to him since he had already given me mine ;)

What a mighty swing!

Since we are having a girl I took a moment to do some creative photography.

The boys were being charming at dinner one night (a rare event in the Berg household) and Eric pulled his phone out to document the moment. A happy smile from Adam.

And one from Caleb too.

James gave us the stink eye but it was all in good fun. After all, we had sour cream and burritos for dinner so he was in heaven.

David is a goof.

Adam eating a strawberry with his side teeth (never his front ones, don't ask me why).

I guess it was a little sour....

The turkey ninja Adam created for school. He wanted to cover it with playdough or jelly beans but that seemed complicated to me so I encouraged him to try something different. He opted for a black ninja instead. Thank goodness.

Some of the 300 bulbs I planted in October decided it was spring and decided to sprout. Dumb bulbs. Actually, since I took these pictures even more of them have started to grow. They are going to be so cold when it snows.....

Well, that's it. Three pathetic posts for November. I guess that's what I get for only taking 109 pictures last month. I'm sure with Christmas in a few weeks, I will have plenty of December posts to make up for it......

Thanksgiving in Burley

We spent Thanksgiving in Burley this year. The boys were so excited to go and see Grandpa Logan, Grandma Cheryl, Jasie, and Rylan that we drove up Wednesday morning so we could spend more time with them. Unfortunately I don't have many pictures of our trip. I'm just not feeling up to par these days with the whole pregnant-mother-of-four thing, but at least we managed to capture a few moments of our time there.

The three oldest eating some snacks in the kitchen on the day before Thanksgiving. Adam lived on popcorn while we were there. It's just not worth the battle to get him to eat like he does at home.

We looked everywhere for Caleb's cup and finally found it up there. I'm sure there was a plan behind it being there.

After Thanksgiving dinner everyone sat down to play a game of Uno. Adam was so excited to play with the big kids. Thankfully, his wonderful dad was willing to give him a helping hand.

A helpful Caleb checking out Grandpa's cards.

Eric teaching Adam how to play the game.

Adam has Uno and he is so excited!

Rylan enjoying the game.

Jasie being coy.

Obviously Adam no longer had Uno...... Oh well. You win some, you lose some.

These Younger Children Of Mine

I know, it's only the eighth. You may ask yourself, "why is she blogging already?!" The truth is, I have no idea. It may have something to do with the fact that I am in a task accomplishing mode brought on by the bustle of the holiday season. It may also be that I took an embarrassing small amount of pictures last month and there aren't going to be many posts for me to make today...... Whatever the reason, here I am, 23 days early.

This blog post is dedicated entirely to my two youngest. These two are so, so full of energy, passion, and stubbornness. They manage to exhaust me within minutes of waking up in the morning with all their antics, and keep going strong all day long with very few breaks. Luckily for them, there are not two children in the world who are more charming. They smile and all is forgotten, they laugh and my energy is renewed. Here are just a few of the things they managed to get into last  month...

James got his poor little fingers accidentally slammed in the van door because he was being overly curious while he was supposed to be getting in the van with his brothers. He was pretty sad for a while even after ice packs and ibuprofen and I don't blame him. I hated getting my fingers slammed in things when I was younger. You can watch the video I took of him afterwards explaining what happened here if you would like.

David has learned to climb. Everywhere. On everything. He also literally follows me around the house and gets into the things that I am trying to clean while I am in the act of cleaning. Everyone else has at least waited until I have moved on..... Anyway, this day he climbed up into one of the kitchen drawers to see if he could reach the stuff I had put on the counter. Caught in the act!

Reaching for those elusive graham crackers.....

And screaming when they were still too far out of reach. It's so hard to be one. All that energy expended for nothing. Yes, I gave him a cracker. I wonder if he thought it was a reward for his behavior.....

James loves sour cream. Loves, Loves, LOVES sour cream. He often uses the other food on his plate simply as a way to eat the sour cream faster. Sometimes even that is not fast enough and he just dives right in. Oh Jimmer.

Such a happy sour cream eater.

And an awesome smile for the camera. I love this sour cream boy.

This is what David does if I walk into a room and close the door behind me. He just can't stand that I am doing something that he is not allowed to participate in. He seriously follows me around all day long....

And this is my reluctant napper who desperately wants to give up naps but who, on most days, just can't quite manage to make it the whole time without dozing off. Often he does so in the most uncomfortable looking positions such as the one above.

I love these two maniacs of mine and I am so grateful for every day they grace me with their presence.

The Randomness Of October

Some random moments that I didn't want to forget....

This is what our fridge looks like when I'm pregnant. Looks like water, milk, and eggs again for dinner guys. Yummy.......

We went to Sam's Club to look for a few movies for our road trip and I turned around to browse through them for a few minutes. When I turned back I found this in my cart. I have very helpful shoppers. Who wouldn't want ten copies of Paw Patrol Winter Fun and Ernest Goes To.....

This is my crazy fourth child. He was such a quiet, pleasant baby....

The boys wanted to color one day so I got the crayons out.

Unfortunately I forgot to remove the extra chair and David helped himself to the crayons. His brothers were not impressed. Also, can I just comment on the pjs and tennis shoes combo? What a fashionista!

Adam's jeans ripped the day after we got home from California. Luckily Grandma Pamela had just bought him two more pairs. Thank you Grandma Pamela!

The boys spent some time trying on costumes one day. What a mighty group of superheroes!

Super Heroes in action!

Our boys often get stuck in this very spot after we have put them down for the night. Their only option is to wait for us to climb the stairs and pry them out. After panicking the first few times it happened, Eric and I realized that they were in no danger and now we take the time to document their odd choice to get stuck over, and over, and over again. We are such good parents.

Eric took Caleb and Adam to work one Saturday for a boys day out. They had a lot of fun in the gym storage boxes.

A lot of fun.

And finally, my Adam had a field trip with his class to the Museum of Natural Curiosity and he actually enjoyed it! Also, he wore that green vest without complaints! I am beyond amazed! I didn't go on the field trip because he tends to act more dependent when I am around, but his amazing teacher was nice enough to send me some pictures she took of the occasion.

And it all ended on a horse. Life in October was so, so good.
