Our new ornaments

Maddie got a Wall-E ornament
Megan got a Tinkerbell ornament

Emmy got a Cinderella ornament

For one of our family traditions, every year each of us gets a new ornament to put on our tree. My parents did this with me and it was so nice to have my ornaments when Rob and I got married. We take the girls to Hallmark the Monday before Thanksgiving and they get to choose an ornament that reflects what they like or like to do. It's amazing how full our tree has gotten from this tradition. Rob and I get ornaments too. I've gotten a new Barbie each year since we've been married. Rob gets some kind of "action figure :)" this year it was Ironman.

Thanksgiving

This year we did something completely different for Thanksgiving. We went to Rob's grandma's house. There must have been 40 of us for dinner- so fun!

Day 7: Castaway Cay

Back for a second visit to Castaway Cay. It was so beautiful today. This morning started with a fun character breakfast at Parrot Cay. (great photo op) Then my sweet girls humored their mom and let me pose them for a Christmas card picture- this was the one (out of the 40 or so I took) They're so patient with me :)
After the picture "torture" we let the kids go play at the beach camp activities and us adults headed for Serenity Bay. It was soooooo quiet and soooooo beautiful. We were there for about 4 hours- no pages (happy kids off playing). We snorkeled- saw gorgeous fish, collected shells and then Shari and I rented rafts and just floated forever- until we realized we were WAY out and had a long, long paddle back to shore. We had lunch on the beach again- so beautiful.
It was so hard to leave Castaway Cay- especially because this was the end of our cruise. We were standing on our balcony of our room looking out at the island and there was a rainbow- so picture perfect- so Disney (but it was real).
The last show was great. Then the kids went to activities while we packed- so sad. The girls said goodbye to their favorite counselor- Hayley Jo. This was an amazing vacation we will never forget!

Day 6: At Sea

We LOVED our days at sea. We spent the entire day at the pool. All morning we swam with the kids. Rob gave our girls and Shari's kids rides around the pool- he was so cute with the kids. After lunch we took the kids to their activities while we had time to lay out and enjoy the warm sun. It was absolutely beautiful. We could watch movies on the big screen at the pool. So nice. Rob and Caden played a bunch of ping pong and they got way into the ice carving that was being done poolside.
While the kids were at their activities we got my favorite page of the trip. My little pager buzzed and I looked at it. It read, "Emmy would like her Cinderella dress brought to the Oceaneer Club." What a princess :)
Later in the afternoon the kids were in the Friendship Rocks show (put on by the Oceaneer Club and Lab) It was so cute- the kids all had t-shirts for their groups to wear. They sang and danced with Mickey, Minnie and their activity leaders.
Dinner tonight was the Captains Dinner- more yummy food!
After the show we took the little girls hot tubbing and watched the Hannah Montana concert movie on the big screen at the pool- fun night. (Maddie and Caden were to busy having fun at the big kid activities- we missed them)

Day 5: Costa Maya

After arriving at the Costa Maya port we borded a bus and headed for the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins. This was absolutely fascinating. We learned a lot on this excursion. It is so amazing that these buildings were made about 4000 years ago- and they're still standing.
The Costa Maya port was fun. We played in the salt water pool, did some shopping and played at the tide pools. Rob lifted up a rock and found a crab- I don't think we've ever seen a critter move as fast as that crab did.
Dinner tonight was at Lumieres. Conrad made the girls cute ketchup shapes again- every night its a different cute shape to dip their fries in. Tonight we had a Minnie Mouse and a footprint. (again- how can I possibly compete with this at home. We're lucky to have a blob of ketchup- I'm not skilled in ketchup art :) )
After dinner the girls went to their activities while Rob and I went with Shari and her mom to the nightly amazing show. After the show we got a page (we carried a pager so the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab staff could call us if the kids needed us) saying to go to one of the lounges for as talent show by Maddies Oceaneer Lab group. It was so cute. The kids sang karaoke to several High School Musical songs- so cute. It was fun to have the parents paged to come and be the audience.
