We started the induction of labor early in the morning on Friday March 25th. I was SO excited because my good friend Casey was our labor and delivery nurse!!! I felt so at ease knowing she was there! :) Jody was a wonderful coach, even though we had not attended ANY labor classes. He was right there holding my hand and helping me breathe through the contractions. My whole family and Jody's mom Cheryl were there in the room as well. I labored most of the day, but around 5:00 P.M. Dr. Richards said, "I just don't think she is going to come naturally," so we decided on a C-Section. I have to admit I was not really all that nervous, about the surgery, I was more excited about meeting our sweet girl. At 5:47 P.M.
Lauren Grace Flippen made her entrance into the world and Jody and I were absolutely thrilled!!! We were very shocked to hear the nurse say, "she has red hair." :) Weighing 6 lbs. 13 oz. and 19.5 inches long, she was the most beautiful miracle I have ever seen. I can't express the amount of joy I felt when I saw her face. This precious baby whom we had waited so long to meet was finally here. Here are some pictures of the day!! One of the best days of our lives!!!
