Christmas day is here!!

Santa came to our house!  The kids were excited to see what he had brought them.

Addy came in first as she is the youngest.  Santa brought her the princess royal stable.  This is perfect for our little girl who loves horses.

Hayden was excited to check out his new train set.  Trains always put a smile on his face.

Parker got a really cool slot car racing track.  It has provided hours of entertainment for the kids and even Dad!
Kev and I getting ready to see what surprises we got in our stockings.  We also enjoyed seeing the gifts that the kids had made us at school.

Mckenna with her new game called bananagrams.  We have had fun playing it together the last couple days.  It is a lot like scrabble.  One sign that Mckenna is growing up fast is that she wanted mostly clothes for Christmas this year.
Halle with a present as big as she is.  She was happy to see that we got her a new sled just like she asked.
Parker trying out one of his new gifts on Mckenna.  It is a mechanical claw that he was using to snatch a present.

Hayden trying on his new Jake and the neverland pirates gear.

I made waffles for Christmas breakfast.  I am sporting the new apron that I got from Kev.   Mckenna was so happy because I bought Nutella to put on the waffles.
We spent the rest of Christmas day at Grandma Loni's house.  Halle and Hailey wearing their Christmas crowns.

It was great having Mike, Amy, and the kids with us.  It had been several years since they were here at Christmas.
Addy had fun playing in all the wrappings.  The kids received lots of fun gifts from their Grandparents.
Parker and Kev checking out his new book about Space.  We even got to Skype again this year with Elder Foster.  He couldn't believe how much the kids had grown since we talked to him last.  He will be home in eight months.

Christmas eve!!

We spent Christmas eve with Kev's parents and Grandparents.  We were few in numbers this year but  we still had a good time. It was really quiet without all the cousins there.

Parker helped hand out all the gifts.

Addy was really excited to open her present.
Grandma Sue helped her.

The girls opening their presents.

Kev's Mom made us a jean quilt.  It turned out really cute.  We have decided to keep it in the car.

Our new blanket came in handy when we went up to cold Snowbird for the rest of the evening.

Grandma and Hayden watching the procession of skiers come down the mountain with torches.  It is a cool sight.  There was also fireworks and hot chocolate.
We watched Santa come down the mountain in the tram.

He repelled from the tram.  Then a huge swarm of kids surrounded him all trying to get a candy cane.  It was a little crazy.  It took Parker five minutes to get one in all the chaos.

I wanted a picture by all the beautiful lights.  The rest of the family had already gone inside.

The main reason we come to Snowbird is to hear my father-in-law play the piano for the Christmas program.
Addy had a great time dancing to Grandpas music!

The kids enjoying the candle light vigil.

We came home and the kids opened up their Christmas jammies.

It was late at this point and Hayden had a meltdown.  It was quite comical.  We couldn't help but laugh.  He even joined in after a few minutes.

We put out cookies for Santa and then it was finally time for bed.

Parker's 9th Birthday!!

Our Parker boy turned nine on December 23rd!  We had a fun party for him that night at our house.  He is looking so tall and grown up in this picture.

Parker getting birthday hugs from his Great Grandma Grant.  It was nice having so many family members come to our home.

Parker was happy that his cousin Tucker was able to come to his party.  They were enjoying their pizza in our unfinished basement.  Pizza is still one of Parker's favorite foods.  He has been known to eat up to five slices at one time.

Then it was time for presents.  Parker got a lot of fun new things.  One of them being binoculars which he asked for.  We also got him a new rocket (his other one got lost at the ranch this year).  He is excited to launch it for the first time at the cabin in a couple of days.

I made him a "Minion" cake this year.  It was a fun cake to make.

My favorite part is the shoestring licorice for hair.

Parker making a birthday wish.  He blew out all his candles with one breath.  Parker continues to be kind and accepting of everyone.  He makes friends easily.  I got to eat lunch with him at school the week that they celebrated his birthday.  I showed up with a box of pizza for the two of us to share.  His classmates were very jealous.  It was fun having lunch together! I had never eaten in the cafeteria with one of my kids before.  We are so proud of Parker for making it into the school play.  He even had to audition for it.  He memorized a monologue, sang scales, and also sang a song.  He got the part as one of the royal cards in Alice in Wonderland.  We are so excited to see him perform in March!  We love you Parker!

Countdown to Christmas!!

December is one of the busiest times of the year!  On December 3rd Parker had a pack meeting.  He received his Wolf rank, a world conservation patch, a leave no trace patch, six silver arrows, and one gold arrow.  We are so happy that Parker loves being a cub scout and is learning so much.  It is always a proud Mom moment when I receive a pin from Parker.
December 6th was our stake Christmas Creche.  We all enjoyed looking at all the nativities.  There was even a nativity made out of bread.  The kids liked the nativities made out of Lego's.  They also had costumes that the kids could put on and act out the nativity.

On December 7th we celebrated Brady and Hailey's 5th birthday! They had a sledding party.  We had a really fun time together.  I only got this picture of us getting ready for a family pic.  My battery died right after this was taken.  Amy fed us hot chocolate, lunch, and cake.  The kids even had a piñata to break and got more candy.

December 13th was our ward Christmas party.  Unfortunately, Addy threw up a half hour before it started.  Kev was nice and volunteered to stay home with her.  The food was amazing.  Our neighbor slow roasted shredded pork all day and then brought it over. He even has his own barbecue sauce.  Mckenna had fun hanging out with her best friend Tessa.

December 15th we had our Rosen family Christmas party.  Grandma loved seeing the kids all dressed up in their Christmas outfits.  We had a delicious dinner and some fun Christmas games.  It was great catching up with some of my cousins.

December 16th Mckenna had her dance showcase.  I always enjoy seeing her dance.  They were showing us their Peke turns in this one.  Mckenna received an award from her teacher for "the most improved dance."  Addy loved watching Kenna dance.  She was clapping and dancing along to the music.  I think we are going to have another dancer in the family.

December 19th was the Christmas sing at the elementary school.  I got to hear all three of my kids sing.  I have a 1st grader, third grader, and a sixth grader.  I then rushed over to Hayden's preschool to hear him sing.

December 19th we made treats for the neighbors.  We made chocolate dipped pretzels.  Mckenna was my dipper girl and Paker was my sprinkle boy.  We had fun listening to The Forgotten carols music as we made the treats.  Hayden's favorite part was helping deliver the treats to our friends.
December 21st we went to see Santa.  Hayden told us while we were waiting in line that he was going to ask Santa for a "poopy diaper".  Luckily, he changed his mind and asked Santa for some more trains.  He has been asking for trains ever since he began talking.
We also enjoyed seeing all the lights.  These icicle ones are our favorite!

December 22nd we had the Grant family Christmas party.  We had a good dinner and fun program.

Grandma Grant reading the story Davie's Christmas.  Addy had to be right up close to see the pictures.  She ended up playing on the stage for the rest of the program and having a grand old time.

December 23rd we celebrated Parker's 9th birthday!  There will be a whole post about just this coming soon!  We can't believe Christmas is only two days away.  We can hardly wait!
