Winter fun

We went up to the cabin from December 26-28th.  It was great to have the Calderwood cousins come up with us!  In November Cody and Kamille decided to get a divorce.  It sounds like it was the best decision for both their families. I can tell that the kids are having a hard time with everything. We are hoping and praying that their family can heal and find peace and happiness again.

We were glad to have this time to just get outside and have some fun together.

My favorite time of night to go snowmobiling is at dusk.

Aubrey, Halle, and I had fun playing follow the leader.  They followed me around the trails by the cabin.  We snowmobiled until it got too dark and cold.

The kids had fun decorating sugar cookies with Aunt Megan.

It was fun seeing how they all turned out.

We all had a great time binge watching the Mandolorian.  We watched the entire season while up there.  We are all obsessed with baby Yoda!

Tucker came up the next morning to hang out with us for the day.  He caught some awesome air on the snowmobile!
He and Parker had fun riding all over the place.

I loved being able to spend some time just with Cole.  He loved it when I let him drive the snowmobile.
We snowmobiled down to the river one afternoon.  The river is only partly frozen right now.  The kids and Kev had a great time breaking off shards of ice and throwing them in the water.

We spent lots to time towing the kids around on sleds.

The last day we were there we snowmobiled up the road to go see Preston and Melissa.

The girls had fun hanging out with Alli, Grace, and Abby.

Kev enjoyed hanging out with his cousin Preston and talking about snowmobiles.

We went for a family snowmobile ride around Preston and Melissa's cabin.

Christmas

We took the traditional picture on the stairs before going down to open presents.

Addy is always the first one down the stairs and to find her presents.  She was excited to get the American Girl Blair doll.
Hayden got the hot wheels pinewood derby set that he had been wanting.  He and his friends have had fun playing with it.
Halle got an Instax camera from Santa.  It even came with a cute case and photo album. It is fun to see all the pictures she has taken with friends and cousins.

Parker got a remote control boat from Santa.  He was also excited to get the game Ticket to Ride the Europe edition.
I got this soft blanket from Kev but Kenna took it over.

Kev has always loved watching The Office.  The kids and I were really excited when we found this Dundee award for him.  It says, "World's Best Dad" on it.

I always love seeing my kids exchange gifts with each other.  It brings out the best in them. This was a happy mom moment.
Mckenna got a Chi flat iron for her hair.  She is always borrowing mine.  The gift that brought the biggest smile to her face was the box of Ramen we got her!  This girl loves to eat Ramen. I keep telling her she is just preparing for college.

Parker helped me cook the sausage for Christmas breakfast.

We always look forward to a big Christmas breakfast.  It might be the fact that it's the one time of year I let the kids have Nutella for breakfast.

We drove to Dad & Loni's for the rest of Christmas Day.  It was nice because they actually had some snow.  We were glad that Mike was feeling up to coming.  He had surgery just a week prior to remove his tonsils, adenoids, and some of his tongue so he could breath better.

We had fun opening more presents.  Kenna was happy as can be with this hooded blanket from her Aunt Amy.
The kids had fun opening presents from their grandparents and cousins.  The girls immediately started playing with their new LOL play sets.

We took a picture of just all the girls.  Kenna and I are both wearing our new sweaters we got for Christmas.
We were able to stop by and see my Grandpa that night.  I was looking forward to giving him the second photo book that I made about my mom.

We had a memorable Christmas and are glad for all the family we were able to spend it with.

Christmas Eve

We went up to Kev's parents house on Christmas Eve.

We had a nice dinner together. It was great to have Cody and the kids with us!

Grandma & Grandpa gave the kids duffle bags with their name on them.  It was so big that Hayden could fit in it.
The kids thought it was hilarious that they got "body bags" for Christmas.  They were hauling around Hayden in this picture.
We spent the rest of the afternoon just hanging out.
\
The two teenage boys on their phones. I actually love that Tucker has a cell phone now and I can text him whenever I want.
Parker got this cool virtual reality goggles from Grandpa Ken for his birthday.  It was funny to look over and see him with his hands in the air.  I think he was riding a virtual roller coaster.

We came home and the kids opened up their Christmas pj's.  This was the pose Kenna insisted on.

We also created our traditional human pyramid.

This is usually what happens after.

Kenna flew the kids across the tree for some pictures.  We thought this one of Addy turned out fun.

We opened the new Christmas book and I read it to the kids.

I looked over and saw that it had put Kev to sleep. "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night"!

Parker's 15th Birthday!

Parker turned 15 years old on Monday December 23rd.  We had a fun day celebrating.  We started the day off by going to "Star Wars the Last Skywalker."  We all loved it and already want to see it again!

Parker and I went and got his birthday waffle.  He was nice to share a few bites with me.

We found this balloon and thought it was funny.  I love the funny facial expression he made while holding it.
Aunt Amy sewed this blanket to make a giant hooded sweatshirt for Parker.  He looked like a sith lord while wearing it.  Tucker nicknamed it "the girlfriend snatcher".  We laughed hard when he told us that.

Parker's big gift from us was a bike stand. He was grateful to have it for when he works on his mountain bike.
Parker chose Hershey Kiss cookies and ice cream for his birthday dessert.

Parker was so happy to have his cousins Tucker, Aubrey, Cole, and Blake at his party.  I tried to get a picture of the two of them and then Kenna photobombed.

I can't believe how grown up they are both getting.  Parker has had a memorable year.  Some of the highlights have been joining the mountain biking team and getting his braces off. He can't wait to get his learners permit and start driving. We are proud of him for getting straight A's this semester in school.  I'm grateful that I get to be his mom! He gives the best hugs and always can make me smile.
