Griffin and Bailey's First Christmas!

This has been one of, no, the MOST tiring Christmas of my life!!! It has been wonderful and I have loved it, but I am exhausted!! :) It's amazing how much two babies add to the mix. In the past week, we have packed up a whole house, Griffin had RSV, moved to a new house and unpacked everything, traveled for Christmas, had our 6 month appointment, and had Jacob's family to our house...WHEW! Makes me tired just rethinking about it all!

Last Tuesday, before Jacob and I went out for my birthday, our good friends from college, Andrew and Janelle, came by with Hadley to visit and meet the babies. It was great to see them and catch up!

Griffin had to sit in the bouncy seat because Hadley loved sitting in his Bumbo!

Wednesday, my mom and Hannah took the babies to El Dorado so that we could have time to pack and not be done for the night at 8:00 for their bedtime. It's AMAZING how much more you can get done with just the two of us! Thursday, my mom called and said that Griffin woke up really congested, and asked if I thought she should take him to the doctor. We decided it was a good idea to go ahead and take him with the holidays. Good thing she did, the doctor said he had Bronchiolitis, which is a strand of RSV. It was very hard for me to be away from him while he wasn't feeling good, but I knew he was in good hands.

Hannah and I had a little photoshoot because I needed pictures of Griffin and Bailey to decorate their bathroom with!

I love that little smile

Friday, we closed on our new house, so Jacob and I signed ALL of the paperwork, then moved all of the boxes to our new house. We headed to El Dorado to see our sweet babies and were so excited to see them. We had a great time celebrating Christmas Eve and Christmas morning there, then we headed to Nashville, Arkansas for lunch and to spend time with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Most of them had met Griffin and Bailey, but not all of them, so it was fun for them to meet everyone! We have a lot of young kiddos running around (and some adults who like to play like they're a young kiddo), so it made for a fun time! I can't wait for our sweet little ones to join in the fun!

Sunday night, we headed back home to gear up for the big move. I laid in bed that night just dreading what was to come and just wished for it to be done! We woke up Monday morning and the fun began...in the rain! :) Our "Cabot parents", the O'Briens, kept Griffin and Bailey all day while we moved, which was SO helpful...and she made us potato soup...yummy! I owe a HUGE thank you to my family for their help...Mom, Dad, Jacob, and I stayed up until midnight that night working on unpacking. I'm the type of person who does not like to drag things out at all, I like to get it done! My family left on Tuesday, and as much as I know they will miss us, they probably enjoyed going home to rest! I am so grateful to have parents who help us out so much!

Tuesday, after our new fridge was delivered (which I LOVE...Black Friday special), Jacob's family arrived. Somehow I didn't get any pictures while they were here, so I will have to get Jessie to send me some! They stayed with us until Thursday and headed back after Jacob's mom went with me to the babies 6 month appointment (that blog post will come later).

This has been a WHIRLWIND of a Christmas break, and it is nice to just sit and relax for a few days. We still have some organizing to do, but that will get done eventually! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Now that it's almost Christmas, I'll finally do a Thanksgiving Post!

I can't believe that I haven't done a post about our Thanksgiving road trip yet, but life is so incredibly busy right now with Christmas parties, work, and moving...all with two babies in tow! They really are great babies and are pretty good at going with the flow!

We did a LOT of traveling over Thanksgiving, but luckily, I had the whole week off of work, so we are able to stretch it out pretty good! Tuesday of that week, we drove to Nashville, TN, to Jacob's parents house...Jacob's grandmother, Ma, was there and so she got to meet the babies first! Jacob's parents took Griffin for the night and Jenna took Bailey, so we got to enjoy a full nights sleep!

Wednesday, we hung out at their house until it was naptime, then we drove 3 more hours to Rome, Georgia, to be with both sides of Jacob's family. We stayed with his cousin, Ryan, and his wife, Lindsey, who we LOVE spending time with. We have gone on vacations together and have the best time because we are all so much alike! They have Noah, who is 2 months younger than Bailey and Griffin, so I can not WAIT for future vacations! Wednesday night, Lindsey cooked a yummy supper for us and we just let the babies "play" together and watch some good ole' Baby Einstein!

Thursday was a busy, but very fun day! Bailey and Griffin got to meet a lot of family who were anxiously awaiting meeting them as well. They met their great grandparents, great aunts and uncles, and lots of little cousins! There were babies everywhere! One of Jacob's cousins has twins who are one, so it was fun to see what our future holds!

Griffin, Noah, and Bailey...they're going to have so much fun on future vacations!!

Friday, we went and watched the Razorback game with a few family members...they were all pulling for the Razorbacks to support me, but sadly, it didn't go as planned! We did have a good time though, so that's all that matters!

Saturday, we headed back to Nashville and Ruth and I went to the flea market for a "few things" and found LOTS of goodies! It was HUGE and I can't wait to go back with a bigger car sometime! I could go crazy with all of my pinterest ideas! :) We went to church on Sunday, ate the traditional Sunday Blue Coast Burrito meal, and headed home! We were exhausted, but it was so much fun to see family that we wish we got to see more!

Hopefully I'll get my Christmas post done before Valentines Day! :)

5 Months Old

It has been called to my attention (Thank you, Holly) :) that we have had a major holiday and I haven't updated the ole' blog! However, we have also had our 5 month "birthday", so I decided to do this post first, then I'll do a Thanksgiving post tomorrow!

Our lives are just SO SO SO busy! Bailey and Griffin are growing and are so healthy and happy, which is just wonderful!

Griffin is my little chunky monkey...he's a solid little boy! He is going all of the time and I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do when he is mobile. I know that I will be on my toes at all times. He has started rolling all over the place. Now he is rolling from front to back and back to front. Griffin was the fussier baby for awhile, but he is becoming much more content and he grins all of the time. His teeth have started coming in and he has two teeth that are completely through and I love his little toothy smile. Teething hasn't been terrible for him, and I hope that it stays that way. I would say the biggest thing from him, other than his teeth, is that he has become quite the eater. He has always downed his bottles, but I didn't know how he would do with baby food. This child will eat ANYTHING that you give him! He has now had rice cereal, applesauce, green beans, bananas, and carrots. He made a funny face with the green beans at first, but I really think that it was because he had the applesauce first and it was very different. Griffin loves to laugh and I love hearing his sweet, little laugh!

My "I ate way too much" face!

I put them on the bed and came back and this is what they looked like! Love it!

Griffin and Daddy...he wants to stand up all of the time! We may skip the crawling phase! haha

I will eat ANYTHING!

I know that I've said it  before, but Bailey is THE EASIEST child! Griffin is a feisty little thing, but Bailey is so content all of the time. We have gone shopping two different days and she amazes me with how good she is. She doesn't have any teeth left, but her gums are a little swollen and we can tell that she's about to get some! She is rolling from front to back, but she is so laid back that she isn't rolling the other way yet. Her smile is the sweetest thing that you have ever seen! Lately, I have noticed that she is getting a little more apprehensive about people. There have been a few times in the past couple of weeks that she will look up at someone that she's not very familiar with and her little lip starts quivering and she starts bawling! It's pitiful, but so cute at the same time. She has had her first ear infection, but we made it through it! We know when she's sick because she's fussy and it's so abnormal for her! I am so blessed to have this sweet little smiling girl and I know that we are are going to have many fun mommy/daughter dates!

We love talking!

I finally found something to eat that's not so bad...carrots!

Sweet smiling girl...about to lose her headband, but so happy!

It's so hard for me to believe that Bailey and Griffin are 5 months old. Every time another month comes around, it makes me think back to the night they were born and how amazing of an experience that it was. I am going to be honest and say that having twins is VERY hard and I have my emotional moments for sure, but I can not imagine having it any other way. I know that they are going to have such a unique bond with each other and I love watching them as they are already looking at each other and giggling. One night, I had them both sitting in their bumbos and they were looking at each other. Griffin looked at Bailey and babbled and Bailey just started smiling and giggling...talk about melting my heart! Jacob and I are so in love with them and we are loving watching them grow and learn new "tricks" (although I have to admit that it sometimes makes me really sad that they're growing so fast). I can't wait to see how they continue to grow!

Also, if you are in Baptist Hospital, we are on the wall of the Labor and Delivery waiting room...

Bailey and Griffin are "famous"! :)
