10 and 11

10 months

Month ten was a big and busy one for Nixon. He learned some really big and important things. He finally got the self feeding thing down. He also got three more teeth, this two front teeth and another bottom middle tooth. But the biggest thing of all was he learned how to walk!!! He was officially a walker on June 28th. He had been standing on his own and taking a few steps here and there for about a week but on the 28th he took off. Brad was home for lunch and just all of a sudden Nixon was just walking across the room. We were all amazed.

Another notable thing that happened was that Nixon had his first E.R. and hospital stay. Nixon had a temperature of 103 so I took him in to imediacare thinking he had an ear infection and by the time we were seen his temp. was 104. Along with the temperature his fontanel was swollen, and had a bad rash on his body. When the doctor saw this he was pretty concerned and sent us right away to get blood tests and chest x-rays taken. When the blood tests came back they showed that his white blood cell count was alarmingly low which indicated that he had a really bad infection in his body. Knowing this, the doctor said he had all the symptoms of meningitis. We were then sent over to the E.R. at the hospital because they were the only ones in Blackfoot who would do a spinal tap on a baby so young. Nixon was such a trooper and was so cute on the pain killers they gave him for the spinal tap. Right away during the spinal tap they knew it wasn't meningitis because the fluid looked good and clear, so that meant more blood tests and an over night stay at the hospital. By the end of the next day we found out that he just had a bad virus that would need to work its way out of his system. Nixon sure gave us all a scare, but we were so glad that he was a-okay!

He loved to play with his monitors

Not long after the hospital we headed down to Coeur d'alene to see the Rees family and play at Christie's families lake cabin. Nixon was so excited to finally meet baby Jane.

Nixon loves pretty Linda.

We have been wanting to get a bike stroller for Nixon and so we just finally bit the bullet and got one. Nixon loves it. He just stares out the side and laughs the whole time. by the time we get home from the rides he is always asleep.

For the 4th of July weekend we went to my parents cabin in Victor.

After Victor we came home and watched the Blackfoot fireworks. We thought they would scare Nixon but he loved them.

 11 months

This month Nixon got two more teeth on the bottom, so he has eight all together. He also got to meet his Ward cousins. He loved those girls so much. He loved playing with Elle and being taken care of by Addie and Molly. He also got to play more with miss Jane, who he loves. His new favorite food is mini Nilla Wafers and gets so excited when he gets some. He has a new found love of the Muppet's and Sesame Street. He loves to be outside and much to my dismay, loves to watch his dad paragliding. He isn't too sure if he likes water other then the bathtub yet, he gets pretty nervous. He is growing so much and is such a fun boy.

3/4 of a year = nine months old.

Nixon is now nine months old. It is crazy to me how fast this nine months has gone!

- He has figured out how to flush the toilets and loves doing it.
- He now tells us no all the time by shaking his head.
- He officially has a first word. Mama. I'm so proud.
- He loves outside more then anything. whenever he sees someone going outside if he doesn't get to go too, he cries. When we bring him back from outside he cries. He is the most calm when he is outside.
- We left him for the first time for longer then overnight - 10 whole days! It was harder for me then him. He was a champ being passed around from Grandma Lu, to Grandma Karin, and Aunt Camille, even though he had an ear infection and was teething.
- He got his second and third tooth ( at the same time ) while we were gone. His canines. Yes, he is going to look like a vampire.
- He apparently took two steps while we were gone. His Uncle Pat was the only witness so I'm going to say it didn't happen.
- He still isn't sleeping through the night. I'm okay with that though because he just wakes up to nurse and then gets all snugly and goes back to sleep.

He loves all of his cousins. and Yes, his shirt does say "sexy and I know it" it was his souvenir from Miami. Him and Izzy got matching ones.

He loves to watch his dad play with his remote control cars. He gets so excited.

loves to watch birds.

He had a super bad ear infection and would just lay there and watch gabba. it was so sad because he would cry and cry.

He loved his hike with "uncle" Spencer. He feel asleep on the way back down and was so comfy that he peed all over Spencer.

He loved staying with the Halls while we were gone, but who wouldn't love staying in a house full of girls that spoil you. I was told he was hardly ever not being held and never told no. It shows....

We love our happy boy so much! I just wish he would slow down the growing up.
