Month three

The past month with Nixon has been so fun. He has started to laugh and talk a lot and even slept all the way through the night 4 times one week ( it was a tease, he is now waking up more then he did before ). He has become really droolie and grouchy do to some teeth that keep bugging him, but he is still the sweetest baby ever.

Nixon rolled over once too, which i think was an accident. I put him on the couch and ran to go grab a burp cloth and came back to find him laying on his face .... oops

This month he has started to love:
-His stuffed elephant - he loves when it sings to him and loves to chew on it
- Anything that sings, he becomes so happy.
- Blankets on his face, its really weird, but he loves it.

So excited to be wearing his namesake shirt from Aunt Kari.

He loved Thanksgiving at Aunt Camille's house so much he pooped up his back.

proof of how much he loves to eat his elephant

He is getting to be such a big boy. I put him on a scale with me and I think he is around 13 lbs now... HUGE!

Month Two

Monday marked Nixon's second month of life.

He is still such a joy. He is growing like a little weed, I swear he changes every day.

This month he has started to like:
- To chew on his left hand/thumb. It is constantly in his mouth
- Yo Gabba Gabba. When at my sisters house, we were playing with him with a Brobee toy and he loved it. The next day I thought I would see how he would react watching the show and he just sat there staring and smiling.
- His baths. He hated baths at first but now he just smiles the whole time.
- Lately he has really enjoyed peek-a-boo

This month me and Brad have been loving:
- That Nixon's hair is coming in. All of a sudden is bare head started to sprout dark hair and it has been growing like crazy.
- How smiley and happy he is in the morning.
- just everything about him.

This month he got to meet his bff Reid.
And got to play with Auntie Lexie.
He also got to meet his favorite Adam, and got a sweet Elmer Fudd hat from him.

On Tuesday he got his two month Shots. Right as they stuck the first needle in his leg he turned bright red and started to cry. He kept looking at me like I had betrayed him. It was pretty sad.

While at the doctor we found out how big he is now

Weight : 11 pounds 8 oz = 18th percentile
Length: 23.5" = 51th percentile
Head circumference: 16.3 = 69th percentile

We sure do love this little guy!

A name and a blessing

Today Nixon was blessed.

It was such a special day. All of our brothers and brother-in-laws ( minus Dr. Nate ), our dads, my grandpa Olsen and our wonderful friend Dan were able be be there to stand in the circle. It was so great to have so many wonderful priesthood holders help with this special blessing.

Nixon did so good during the blessing. Right before it was time he got the hick-ups. I was worried because they always make him a little upset, but he just kind of jibber jabbered a little bit during the blessing and other then that was silent.

Not only did Nixon do good, but so did Brad. The blessing given to Nixon was beautiful.

We had so many family members there who love Nixon. It certainly was a day we will always remember.

Why did the chicken cross the road?...

This years Halloween was the first Halloween since me and Brad have known each other that we haven't headed to Utah to play with friends. Since it was Nixon's first Halloween we thought it would be fun to go trick-or-treating to all the grandparents houses
Before we left we had our only trick-or-treaters stop by. Nixon just loves his Thomason cousins.

First we went to Frank and Nancy's to show off his sweet chicken costume.
Then we headed to grandma and grandpa Scotts house
Brad was a skeleton and I was a cupcake.

Next was grandma and grandpa greats house
and last but not least was a stop to grandma and grandpa Olsen's

Trick or treating wore Nixon out and he slept like an angel that night.

Smiles

Nixon has started smiling these past few days. This morning he was in such a good mood and I was able to catch a few smiles with the camera.
I can't help but smile myself when I see that sweet face.

One Month

This past Friday Nixon became a month old.

He is such a good baby. He sleeps good at night, and hardly ever fusses. I've learned to love getting up at night to feed him because he is so good.

He loves:
-To be snuggled
-Brad - When he is upset I'll hand him to Brad and he calms right down
-His bouncer
- The song "Give said the little stream"

Me and Brad Love:
-His little yawns
-His sneezes are precious.
-watching him make funny facial expressions
-The fact his cheeks and thighs are getting chubby

We finally went back to church this Sunday ( well only Sacrament Meeting ) so Nixon had to have a bath so he could look handsome

resting in his church clothes.

He also got to meet his Aunt Arin. He loved her, I could tell.

He loves watching youtube with Brad, they were watching Paragliding videos.
We feel so blessed to have such a sweet little boy.

A Very Special Birthday.

Nixon Brad Scott

Born September 7 at 7:27 pm

Weighed 7lbs 6oz

22 inches long

I had a doctors appointment on my due date, September 6 to decide when I was going to induced because I was scheduled to either go in that night or the next morning. The decision was made to have me go in at 5 am the next morning.

That night me and Brad were both so anxious so we didn't go to sleep until about one and then had to be awake at 3:45 to call the hospital to see if it was still okay that we come in at five.

They started me on Pitocin at about 5:30 and by around 8:30 They were able to brake my water ( the worst part of the whole day if you ask me ). Then around 10 I was finally at a 4 and was able to get my epidural. I contractions were super strong and close together and when the anesthesiologist saw how bad they were he told me that he thought I would have the baby super fast because I was having really good contractions.

He guessed wrong. Every time I was checked there was no improvement past when I got to the 4. Finally at about 7 pm, Doctor Huggins came in, checked me and suggested that I get a C-section due the fact that my pelvis wasn't spreading and she was certain it wouldn't spread. after 14 hours of labor and nausea ( epidurals are great for contractions, but not so great when they make you nauseous.) me and Brad were both ready to meet our little guy and decided getting a C-section sounded great.

I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be to get a C-section and it was actually kinda cool to be so numb but be able to feel the pressure of them working on me. Everyone always has told me that when they lift the baby out you feel a lot of pressure and your bum lift off the table but I didn't all of a sudden I heard them say " wow this baby is a lot bigger then I thought he would be" and then my sweet baby boy crying. All I wanted to was touch him and hold him but all I got was a peak of him from above the curtain before they took him away to get checked out.

We were able to come home with our little man Saturday the 10th. Nixon is the sweetest little boy ever. He is so content and hardly ever cries. we couldn't of been blessed with a better baby then Nixon.

Now a whole bunch of pictures:

This was how pregnant I was the night before I was induced.
All hooked up to the Pitocin
getting ready to be wheeled into have the C-section
Introducing Nixon, this is our first picture of him
What time he was born, on a Nixon watch....
Holding him for the first time.
The proud new dad.

This was after his first bath.

Nixon had lots of visitors, he was getting lots of cousin lovin. Sorry to the visitors that I was out of it when they came and wasn't too talkative ( example: Kelsi and Caleb )
One of the CNA's loved Nixon so much she gave him a sleeper with a hat and some blankets, here he is sporting his new hat.

Getting ready to go home
Our first family photo right before we left the hospital
Grandma Olsen with Nixon
Grandpa Olsen
Nixon's Thomason cousins put balloons on our mailbox to welcome him home, so we had to take a picture with them before they came down.
After his first bath at home. He didn't like it at all.
He loves his swing and bouncer, he sleeps better in them then anything else.
