The Halligan Family

• She copies and mimics peoples actions a lot. If I grab a toy and make it walk or make a silly noise she immediately takes the toy from me and tries to do the same noises and actions with the toy.


• Hailey loves climbing up stairs, couches, chairs, bathtubs, and anything else she can maneuver up. As soon as she gets up, she gets down and the process repeats itself over and over again.


• She understands a lot! For example, when we ask her if she wants to take a bath she immediately says bath and heads off towards the bathroom. Little things like that make it fun to see just how big she is getting.


• Daddy and Hailey play catch often and Hailey has a pretty killer throw. If she keeps it up we will be looking at one amazing pitcher some day!


• She is still obsessed with books and loves to read all the time. She can now name animals and things from books. She has this one book that has a cat on the cover and every time she sees it she gets really excited, says "kitty", kisses it and then hugs the book. It is so CUTE!


• Every time we pull up to my mom and dads she knows exactly where we are and starts asking for her "papa" before she even gets out of the car!


• She is still very obsessed with the strings around her crib bumper. She will twirl them in and out of her fingers while she is sleeping. When she rolls over she makes sure to grab the strings from the other side of the bumper.


• At night Hailey is now telling us when she is ready for bed. If she starts to get sleepy she says "night night" and points to her room. Patrick and I hug and kiss her goodnight and then she is out! How spoiled are we? She is such an easy baby!


• Hailey took her first steps this past month and since then she has been getting better and better at walking each day!


• Her side tooth was the first one to come in on the top of her month. The last few weeks she has looked really silly when she smiles and has a snaggle tooth on the side of her mouth. She is now getting her two middle teeth and side one at the same time so atleast her smile will be even soon!
  

Patrick and I know we are so spoiled to have such a sweet baby. We love her kisses and contagious personality. She is happy all the time and we LOVE it!

Last night Patrick and I were playing with Hailey on the floor, as usual. She started doing this thing where she stands up, wiggles around and then throws herself down really hard and then laughs. Well, as she was doing this she started standing longer and not throwing herself down. Patrick ran and got the video camera, I got the camera (of course) and waited. After I enticed her with a toy, she took EIGHT steps towards it! Eight whole steps on her first try! Patrick and I were so excited and even more happy because we can watch her first steps over and over again now on the video camera!
Once she figured out that she could walk, she was doing it a lot. Hailey's new favorite toy is a ball (she so belongs in this sporty family) and she was taking several steps towards it last night!

Patrick is going to kill me but I just had to put this picture on here! He was showering with Hailey and she was just exhausted. She stuck her thumb in her mouth and fell asleep in the shower! So cute! We were having so much fun visiting with all our Texas family and Hailey didn't want to miss out on any of the action! I guess she figured the shower would be a good place to catch up on her sleep! =)
