Obviously I don't blog...

It's been 6mo since I've posted anything...I'd just rather do facebook--it takes less effort, it's faster, and it's a lot more user friendly to post updates, pictures, and stories. But for those of you who follow this I'll post some recent pictures/events that happened recently. :)

For David's birthday we dressed up...And rented this to drive up to Park City to eat at Ruth's Chris Steak House. :)
Jacob's eating solids (pretzels are his favorite snack)At nine months old, he's such a looker. ;)

Jacob's 9mo appointment was this past week and he's 28in tall, 19-2oz, and his head is 47.2cm. Avg. height, a little light, and has a huge head. Like father like son.
I'll try to be better about posting stuff but don't hold your breath! :)

An Eventful Weekend!

This weekend family was in town for a couple major things happening in Jessica's (my sister) family. Her husband, Thomas, was graduating from BYU with his BA in political science so commencement was on Thursday and Friday; their little girl, Sophia was being blessed this Sunday and they are moving from Provo in a week and a half to Fort Worth, TX where Thomas has a job set up. So mom, dad, and the 5 little girls came to Utah to celebrate their achievements and to wish them good luck before they left for the real world.

Wednesday the family showed up around 7:30pm so David, Jacob, and I went to see them at the hotel to have pizza and swim. (David didn't go swimming cuz he didn't have a swim suit and Jacob didn't swim because the pool had so much chlorine in it.) The little girls and I had fun splashing around and diving for toys. :)

Thursday I had to work all day but I got off early to go see the commencement exercises for Thomas's graduation. David would have come but he worked that night. So after the ceremony and pictures we went to dinner at Tucanos where David served us and we all had a good time.

After I got off of work on Friday David, Jacob, and I went to the BBQ that Jessica and Thomas were having for his graduation, Sophie's blessing, and their farewell. There was frisbee, volleyball, and babies. :) These are the only pictures I got from this weekend:

Then on Saturday we all hung out, everyone went swimming, mom and I went shopping, and David and I got to go on a double date with mom and dad where we got to know them just a little bit more. I now have a new respect for mom and dad just from hearing some of the stories they told us.

Sunday was Sophia's blessing and Thomas did a great job. She was so pretty in her ling white dress and little white bonnet. I hope I get more pictures of this weekend from Dad and Mom. It was fun and I hope we can see the family again soon!

My Happy Boy!

I love being a mom!!! I have to admit Jacob has his moments where he drives me crazy and I've lost my patience but the ups are soooo worth the downs! This week I started working again (which I'm not overly excited about) and being away from him all day makes me realize how much I loved being a full time mom for the 2 months that I could. I'm just glad I work close enough to home that I can visit him and David at lunch time.
Speaking of being back at work...
Before I went back I emailed my supervisor to see what I'd be doing because things were kinda up in the air when I left about what my position would be in the department. Well, I guess they had to hire someone over the summer because the call volume was so high and they needed someone to start on backend stuff for the end of the summer. (For those of you who don't know, I work for Pinnacle Security, a summer sales company, and a backend is the big (or not so big) checks the sales men get at the end of the summer.) Well now the call volume isn't too bad and the girl who I trained to do my position while I was on leave is now leaving. So I thought it'd be perfect for when I get back to have the same position that I did when I left in May but there's a new guy in the department doing nothing so they had him trained for my old position. Now I'm in a data entry position in a different department and it has its ups and downs. Ups: I get to listen to my ipod all day, I don't have to take calls or emails from disprespectful sales reps, I get more flexible hours, and it's easier to get incentives. Downs: I don't work with some people I really enjoy working with, my lunch and breaks are set times now, the work is really boring and mundane, and I'll probably be at the same pay for another year or so because I'll have to work up to a raise again. Count your blessings--at least I have a job and good insurance.
I miss Jacob whenever I think about him at work but I'm happy I had a day off on Friday to spend with him and David. Here's a video of why it's so worthwhile:

2 Month Update

Jacob's 2 month appointment was on Monday and here are his stats:
Height: 23 1/4 in.--percentile: 50%
Weight: 12lbs 10.6oz--percentile: 75%
Head circumference: 40.5 cm--percentile: 50-75%

He's a bit of a spit up baby, although it's gone down quiet a bit. He sleeps for about 5 hours straight at night then wakes up to eat and will sleep for about another 2 or 3 hours. Some nights are better than others and he'll sleep for 6 hours straight but he hasn't had a longer stretch than that. He is the most talkative baby I've ever seen. When we "goo" or "gah" at him he'll do it back louder and longer. He is also the most active baby I've seen (boy am I in for it when he is mobile!)! Jacob is constantly kicking and moving his hands, he loves to stand, and can lift and hold is head up for minutes! His favorite place in his tiny world is his changing table. It's where we see him do all of this! He's developing so well and is such a sweet baby!

Here's a video for you to see what I'm talking about :)

Jacob's Arrival; the story is on facebook

I'm really frustrated with this blogging business. I've tried so many times to publish the story of my delivery but I guess it won't publish anything that has been copied and pasted from a word document. If you know how to get around that please let me know. Otherwise, I published the story on facebook and you can read it there.
Here are some pics though! Enjoy!

Swollen Feets and Ankles!

I'm at the end of my pregnancy and I've never seen feet, mine or anyone else's, this swollen. Beware of how gross it might look to you. David and I were laughing while we were taking these. I look forward to being back to my normal sized feet and ankles!

Before
Apply pressure...
Dimple!
Notice the previous indentation is still there...
Edema! Weird!

And here's my 39 weeks pregnant picture...this kid had better get here soon!
